When you arrive at the place the first thing you'll notice is the huge gateway...unbelievable. This place actually rivals Graceland and Rosehill in it's majesty and statuary. There is a memory garden with a fountain, acres of mausoleums and tombs, a deep-drop ravine and a lakefront view. Talk about a conflicting set of experiences. You can stand amidst the affluent Lake Forest dead while looking at the wonderful expanse of lake Michigan and feel...ALIVE. Whether you're looking for a place to collect your thoughts, a peaceful place to escape, or an unusual walk through some incredible mausoleums and statues, lake Forest cemetery is a most unusual escape from everyday living.
