September 2025…read more Parking: on site. Shared lot with other businesses. It's a "one way" parking lot. We had to drive down and come around because we turned too soon. Location: near SMU. Several other food spots in walking difference. Cleanliness: they were cleaning when we walked in- but this was one hour before close (9pm) Pretty clean. It was cold inside so we went to sit outside. The bar seats outside though- I was in slacks so I was sliding all over that seat. That wasn't very comfortable, but I managed. Staff: the lady taking our order was very sweet. So was the food runner. The cooks -- I looked up two -three times during this visit, and they were looking at me. This was another reason I wanted to eat outside. May have been harmless buttttt it was enough to note, and enough to want to not stay seated indoors. 4/5 for the smash burger. I made it a double for $3 more. The size was perfect-- we've been trying smash burgers for the last three days and this was the biggest, so far. Ordered a side of curly fries for $3. Quality of the fries wasn't there. I had "scraps" of curly fries - maybe 3-4 actual curly fries. 2.8/5 Would return, but no time soon. Still on a burger tour

We came here on a whim. A last-minute brunch decision. Nothing planned. No expectations. And what…read morefollowed was a core memory in three courses and a complimentary Bloody Mary shot accompanied by the cutest green olive. The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. The softest, fluffiest, most cuttable cloud of golden glory I've ever had the pleasure of annihilating with a fork. A fork, not a steak knife. Do you understand how rare that is? Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

We ordered 2 bottles of champagne and 1 Bloody Mary and it took over 16 minutes to arrive and we had to remind him 2 times. He never brought us water. He messed up our checks and added gratuity, said he wasn't, did and then came back and said he didn't when he did. It took about 15 minutes to get our checks back after we paid. Honestly it was one not a great customer service experience. Salad was very good! Everyone's food was good. Issue was just service!

I ate the popper, lb&j, and the cowboy, which I love (ate the smokehouse in the past and that's also a top choice). The Cowboys pimento cheese was just the right amount of cheese for the slider and the jalapeno cilantro aioli was an outstanding addition to it. The PB&J - I'm a sucker for jam in a burger and the blackberry jam was refreshing and cool and paired great with the bacon in the peanut butter while still complimenting the meat. The Popper had a lot of rosemary lime aioli which was delicious to bite into. I've been here several times and narrowed down to my favorite 4. The sides (waffle fries, extra sugary drinks, onion rings) could be improved but while the sliders are pricy, they leave a great impression. The service is also very kind to lete grab a lot more ketchup packs and you do feel the "butcher" vibes in the food when you're eating.

Cowboy - Beef, pimento cheese, crispy onion straws, jalapeño cilantro aioli - DELICIOUS. the pimento cheese was the star of the show and made the slider taste extra good 2. Smokehouse - Beef, smoked brisket, Cheddar, pickled red onion, house BBQ sauce, rosemary lime aioli - I enjoyed this the only downside was the brisket was dry and made me so thankful for the drink that came with my meal. 3. Popper - Beef, fried jalapeño & cream cheese, pepper jam, bacon, cilantro, rosemary lime aioli - DID NOT ENJOY. Unfortunately the jam that this burgie came with just overpowered the whole thing and not in a good way. It did not mesh with the rest of the ingredients and the popper had no flavor or filling. It just flattened when I took a bite and I got nothing but a mouthful of that terrible jam. The waffle fries were ok just nothing special. The onion rings though....OMG so crisp, so fresh, so flavorful. Would just come back for those. Service was fine, we were the only people waiting to order so it was quick.

Pretty amazing place. Everything is to go and there's a new menu every week…read more This place popped up under sandwich shops, but I would call it a restaurant with a bakery. I had these smothered pork chops with okra and squash that came with the side of black peas, and cornbread The pork chop was super flavorful and tender. The black guy peas, not mushy at all with an incredible flavor. I really don't like it when folks overcook them and these were perfectly done but you probably my star of the show was the okra and squash so much of the okra these days is just deep fried batter with a sad little vegetable inside. These were real corn breaded magic Had to physically force myself not to turn around and go back and get one of the solid salted caramel cookies and I must admit I broke into the peanut butter one as well, they are crack A very cobbler came with the meal and it had the perfect amount of tart with a very nice crust. So often these days, most cobblers and crumbles are too sweet at restaurants. This is a pretty special spot. I was driving through Quitman because I spent about 10 summers here as a child with my grandfather , who had a little summer house out here. It's been a neat walk down memory lane and now I have the food to match.
