THE place to eat in Grand Saline! We just found Richie's about a year ago and thank goodness! Every meal we have had there has been exceptional!! Everything from the burgers and nachos and quesadillas, and fajitas to the steaks and shrimp have been cooked to perfection and served in a timely manner coming to the table, hot and fresh. Server was stressed but polite the manager just quit , food was okay, hamburger was fine, shrimp boil was terrible, a brown steamed red potato, small corn dry and tasteless , tea was not good . The meals in general lacked in quality! read more

Fantastic place I went with my family whom I was visiting in Grand Saline. The food and service were excellent and they have really reasonable prices! All of us enjoyed our meal. Not much open on Sunday afternoon on New Year's Day, but this was. Ground beef with gravy tasty, green beans tasted metallic. Also had "salad bar" and they grilled some fresh chicken to add. Average tasty. Above average waitress with cute Pom Pom earrings. read more

Not a lot to choose from in Grand Saline but this place has just about everything on their menu. The burger was the good old fashioned super greasy kind. Best thing I can say though: we got our food to go because we ran out of time and had a birthday party up the street. They left out one of our orders which we didn't realize until we got to our party. About 20min later one of the waitstaff showed up at the skating rink we were at with the order! What a wonderful thing to have a consistently great restaurant in our little town! I have not sampled everything, but love what I have had. Their lunch specials are fast, hot, and fresh. The Mexican food is delicious--I love the chicken quesadilla, enchiladas, and the NACHOS. The chicken-fried steak was a real steak, not a cutlet, And the gravy tastes homemade. We tried Richie's by the Sea on our way to a local auction. We ordered from the senior menu. The wait to order then to get food was too long or our planned timeline. Our order did not come out as ordered. The shrimp we're ok, but the hamburger steak was a prepressed patty with more onion than meat. We were driving to Dallas and wanted to travel the backroads instead on this rainy day. We saw the restaurant and decided to stop. We were seated immediately and everyone was very friendly. Laura was our server and was very nice and gave lots of different options and explained the menu well. I didn't know what to order since they serve so many different menu items. Order anything no matter what cuisine as the food is great no matter what you get. The chicken fried steak was great and their Mexican street corn is amazing. The chimichanga was yummy as well. The manager was very friendly and stopped by our table multiple times to check on us. Love the atmosphere and friendly welcoming service. We will be back on our way back through! read more

I had the veggie platter and it was good butbasic. Keen had the fish basket, subbed macaroni fot french fries.He said it was delicious.

When we went it was NOT busy. We waited a good 29 minutes to order then OVER AN HOUR for our food! Once we got it, it was nothing special, and my special requests weren't taken (no lettuce, etc) but there was no way I was sending it back-- I was concerned it would take another hour to get it back. This place is sort of misleading with the name as it is more Mexican/American food. The surf dishes are very limited but I hear they're fantastic I have not personally had one. Excellent choices all the way around for food they know what they're doing recommend highly. read more

When my wife and I entered the restaurant we were blasted with loud electronic dance music. My wife ordered chicken fried steak with a loaded baked potato. She got a breaded hamburger patty and a small baked potato with a hair in it. My shrimp enchiladas had the consistency of rubber. One star for good chips and salsa. Wish we had gone to Sonic. This was the 1st time we have gone back in sent it was taken over and it was a complete disappointment. One of us got the seafood platter and it was inedible fried in old grease with mashed potatoes that tasted like grease. You think you can't go wrong with a salad, think again. Ordered the southwest salad that comes on romaine with tomatoes, grilled chicken, corn, fried tortilla strips and cilantro ranch but it came out with iceberg, some chicken and fried tortilla strips but none of the other toppings. Not even the dressing. Anyways I could go on since there was 7 of us but I'll leave it with that and the fact that we will not be back. read more

Stopped in here yesterday on our way thru the area. We got there right at the end of lunch buffet times (2:25pm) It looked like there was enough still out and the salad bar looked great so I took the buffet and my husband ordered chicken fajitas from the menu. Wasn't much meat left on the buffet - no catfish left, only 1 piece of fried chicken, etc. But there was tons of hot BBQ ribs and wonderful baked chicken spaghetti and good vegetables too. I had more than enough and my husband's meal came out quick and he enjoyed his fajitas as well. Our ticket says our server was Sam C. She was friendly, quick, and checked back on us often. I never ran out of tea. Price was quite reasonable. We will definitely go back again. read more
