Go back and get told sorry cant return okay, but still want the correct chain... Mike at the counter calls back to the "yard" and puts the phone on speaker and starts explaining to Bill that one of the chains were wrong... Bill proceeded to call US (loyal customers & you know they've done it to you as well) "Stupid and keep fucking their shit up" just the tip of what he started bitching about while Mike said "Oh boy..." and quickly took him off speakers phone. ON SPEAKER PHONE INFRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES Calling their loyal customers the lowest notch because they have to do their job. Good family businessman. I called one week ago to rent a stump grinder for 8/5/2020. I lined up help( one individual who…read moreneeded to take the day off from work) and arrive at the location at 8 am. When I asked to rent the stump grinder I was told that it is out of service . The gentleman at the desk advised he was sorry. I asked why I wasn't called earlier and he replied he didn't know. This is a terrible way to run a business. At least a called should have been made to alert me of the status of the machine. I will now buy my plumbing parts, chain saw equipment and other hardware a somewhere else.

Whether you need to replace outdated or broken items (hoses, toilet seats, light bulbs/fixtures), you need the actual tools to fix things (wrenches, hammers, saws, drills, etc.), you need to make existing items look better (varnish, paint, sandpaper), or you need hardware of any/all kinds (screws, nails, bolts, pipes, etc.), it's here. And that's just the stuff I've bought over the past few months. They've got tons more stuff, most of which I don't even know what it is because I'm an unhandy city boy. Perhaps this is a small-town thing, but the staff here seems like they know...everything. They've got valuable advice if you want it, and I'm betting they can either come out and fix stuff, or know who you can hire to do so if you can't do it yourself. Some of the items can be a little pricey compared to a big box store or the internet, but you're also paying for expertise and convenience, and shopping local is always a good thing. As a nice bonus, everyone here seems to be pretty nice, too.

They are a typical home town style True Value hardware. People many times come in to buy hardware or plumbing supplies - but most often they are looking for advice, answers, and help. Its that typical deal where most of America thinks they can do themselves only to find out that they are not entirely sure how to finish said project and need to ask some questions. Allen and Palmer has a variety of employees that are experts on in home problems and answering questions. They also have several guys on staff that are Master level plumbers. James Decker works on the plumbing crew there and seems to know his way around anything mechanical, plumbing, heating, etc.... There is undoubtedly a bit of mark up on items purchased here. This is because they have to ship things so far. And indeed it would cost you more than the difference to drive to somewhere more urban to purchase the same items. I would highly recommend this location for almost anything you might need in the Northville - Sacandaga Lake area.
