It is so bad that it burns your nose and eyes. There are always puddles of piss and at least once a week I see a young man in the act of relieving himself. When I was there on a weekday evening, it wasn't very crowded, and the group that gathered looked to be a mix of professionals and folks trying to get to the State Fair. The station is clean, and security cameras can be seen everywhere. Whether they work or not is another story. One big peeve I have is that the Park and Ride is not clearly marked. Turns out, the park and ride is ACROSS the street from the rail station, and you have to cross the busy street of Harry Hines. I literally saw my train come and go as I was waiting for the light to turn on Harry Hines to cross over to the rail line. Waited another 30 minutes at a deserted DART station for the next train. Not fun!

We bought our tickets online before arriving at the Mockingbird station and it's good we did because the two machines that sell tickets apparently were out of order or out of tickets, or something. One guy tried to buy tickets but could not so he just pocketed his money and got on. The honor system is a joke. There are homeless people sleeping on the trains. And DART wonder why it loses money. The stations are not well marked so you can't really tell where you are and they announce the station about 2 seconds before the door closes. Just a bad system all the way around. I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because we encountered two DART employees who gave us accurate information so we could find the correct train. Other than that, this is a 1 star system.
