Unfortunately during the job, it was discovered that the 1/2" sub-flooring was damaged (previously or during the job). I chose to have it replaced, and while the contractor did replace it, they chose a thickness (between 1/2" to 3/4") by mistake. This resulted in the obvious "ridge" that can be seen in the pictures below. Now I was in a situation where, I'm facing either living with what feels like a "small rug" buried under my beautiful hardwood flooring OR pull it up and address the sub-floor height difference. You may be asking: how does Jason (BPS Southeast Flooring) fit in? During this hectic situation, I was looking for SOMEONE that I could TRUST to give me solid advice on the situation and my options. Specifically someone OTHER than the contractor who did the original carpet demo / flooring install. Jason delivered exactly the guidance I was looking for and more. He is extremely knowledgeable and serious about his profession (all things flooring including hardwood). He drove a total round trip of 1 hour, and showed up 20 minutes early. There was no sense that he needed to "sell" me on anything in particular, he only was there to give his opinion on the options and he did exactly that. Even his consulting fee was extremely reasonable (so much so that I doubled it in light of the value of the information and guidance I received). While I cannot attest to the actual "install job quality" that can be garnered from BPS Southeast Flooring (I have not hired them to install any flooring as of this review) , I feel VERY confident in continuing to do business with him for all my flooring needs now and in the future. And since I will be continuing this job myself, I will be purchasing any further flooring material from BPS Southeast Flooring in the future.

We noticed what looked like water drops in our living room where the guys had gone through to get to our bedroom as explained above and that weekend, I did my usual cleaning by sweeping and I had intented to mop to get up those dried water spots on my hardwoods....except they wont' come up! I've gotten down on my hands and knees trying to scrub, but nothing is working! So, we report this to the Gastonia location who has refused to come back out to rectify this situation. Something about it had to be the same guys, Brian the "Manager" said. What a crock?!? You didn't clean up your mess and now I'm stuck with this until YOU are available? Now, it's been 3 weeks and I'm LIVID! NO............I don't want the same guys back at my home EVER! NO....I'm not going to take time off of work to meet you! We have been MORE THAN PATIENT WITH YOU PEOPLE! I honestly can't understand why I'm reaching out YET AGAIN for you to fix what you've done! Brian? Do NOT call me!
