I love Ocean Beach Speech because of their Speech Therapists Meghan and Michael. The quality of care they gave to my daughter is amazing. The first speech therapist of my daughter was Meghan. My daughter is 2 years old that has stranger anxiety issues before. And she don't speak a lot of words. She always cries a lot whenever she gets frustrated. When she had sessions with Meghan, she is really interacting well and she loves playing with her. I am amazed on how they make learning fun with my kid. And in every session she is sooo excited to see Meghan. She loves learning new things and she is speaking new words. I am very happy of my baby girl's progress. She loves Meghan because she always have this big smile whenever she sees her. Meghan is one of the sweet and best teacher / speech therapist they have and their substitute speech therapist Michael is also the best. As Luca is now 4-years-old and I've had the chance to interact with numerous physicians, caretakers, therapists and professionals related to his overall care, I can say with confidence that I am in awe of Lauren. Lauren is a passionate, dedicated and energetic therapist. She showed up to each and every session in our home ready and focused on Luca. She cared very deeply about Luca's progress and went above and beyond to ensure he had every chance to access speech, language and develop to his maximum potential. I appreciated her creative approach to "learn" what Luca liked and disliked, and how she could bring the best out of him. She tailored her activities and approach to Luca's interests and although my nonverbal son is difficult at times to understand from first glance, Lauren successfully navigated their communication styles and was able to have a relationship with Luca. My son has other therapists for other things but Dania is our absolute favorite! She really goes above and beyond for our family. She really takes the time to observe my son and understand what he's comfortable with and every single session she brings a new idea or a new device to try with my son that will allow him to push out of his comfort zone and try to do things he doesn't normally do. My son had a very hard time with eating, and forced himself to throw up whenever he ate a texture he didn't like. Dania observed even the smallest details and every session brought something new to try and everything has helped so much! It's been a few months now that he hasn't really thrown up while eating, and he used to throw up at almost every meal! Not just that, but she just has the most amazing personality and my son is obsessed with her! Northstar is going to empower a lot of children and families in a very positive way. As I mentioned for 10 years, I've tried several Speech companies over a dozen Slp's spent hours on researching the current options not knowing which was right for Bear such as pecs, more than words, and several AAC device apps for my little nonverbal guy. Mind blown !!!! because in one hour Slp, Maddie at NorthStar gave me enough information about my sons learning style (which happens to be Gasalt) something I had never heard of it until that day, plus several new tips on how to communicate with him and to get him to communicate with me. Since that appointment I discovered that my sons learning type wasn't new it's actually been around since the 80s but that a lot of Slp's haven't heard of it or don't know enough about it which is unfortunate, because it tends to be according to research the main modality of learning for learners on the autism spectrum.
