We came here to hear a comedian K Von. You were able to sit wherever you liked. It was very hot in the theatre. The warm up acts were actually funnier than K Von. I didn't really like his humor and thought some of it was not funny at all. I don't think I'll be following him on instagram or anything. It is similar to the Boca Black box which we live near. I don't think I would be coming back here. read more

This is my first time here, my girlfriend invited me to the burlesque show. I wasn't sure what to expect but it definitely met my expectations. I was thinking of the movie burlesque with Christina Aguilera but just add Fifty Shades of Grey. The beautiful, amazing, talented women that were on stage giving us one hell of a show and doing crazy things just blow everybody's mind. The ending was definitely the best part of the night and I won't share what happened. The theater itself is a good size with a concession inside if you want a snack or two. If you check in on yelp you will receive free popcorn. The bar is inside the theater, but I believe they only serve wine and beer so don't expect a full bar. My girlfriend suggested I pay for the VIP tickets and told me it would definitely be worth it. Unfortunately, where we were sitting at the high tables near the stage wasn't the greatest view. The speakers were blocking a lot of the show and it was extremely annoying and disappointing. What's the point of paying for VIP tickets if I don't have the best view in the room!? We were talking about going to another show but I'm not paying $30 for taking that risk of maybe getting shitty seats. The security was definitely on point, there's also a cop who I personally thank for being there. There was a disruptive man who is causing a bit of a problem and security put him in check. Overall we had a great time and I took away a star because of where my seat was. read more

I've been to The Kelsey a few times since they opened their doors a couple of years ago. It's a great place to see live music and other performances certainly. Having seen a Battle of a Bands event here as well as performances by local bands -- most recently, Ordinary Boys with Static Momentum opening, I would love to see more bands and booking agents setting up shows here. I don't just say that because I live in Lake Worth and rather not go all the way down to Culture Room in Lauderdale, but it would definitely help. The venue is cool, spacious that can hold a lot of people if you take away the tables, and an easy to access bar area in the back to grab drinks. It's always been good times when I've gone to The Kelsey. read more

I was really impressed with how nice this theater is. I ended up going with a few of my friends to a burlesque show and it was absolutely hilarious. We laughed our asses off and really enjoyed the performance. The set up is nice. When you go in, you can get food and drinks in the lobby. The lobby has a cool display of arts and prints. The theater section has chairs in the middle and tables on the sides as well as a bar area in the back. There was plenty of room between the rows and the prices were reasonable for the drinks. Each show is set up differently and there will be plenty of room if they take away the tables and chairs if needed for a performance. I would definitely come back to see another show. It's clean and I didn't mind taking a 20 minute drive to see what it was all about. It exceeded my expectations and definitely a welcoming place to go and/or host an event. The staff was accommodating to everybody and it was a nice experience. read more

I attended a showing of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Kelsey Theater and it was my first visit. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the theater, restrooms, and show space. The concession stand offered pretzel jot dogs, popcorn, and some candy, and soda. The inside bar offered a varied beer selection. I would visit again. read more

Won some Yelp tickets for the Amy Winehouse Tribute concert for a Friday evening! Pretty exciting cause I like her music :) Went down the street for a snack first (Brick & Barrel Gastropub- check it out!) since I had some time to spare. Figured to get there early in case parking was an issue. But it wasn't surprisingly. Oh, there's also a tattoo shop nearby in case you'd like one before heading to the theater! lol.. So when checking in the staff was very welcoming, though they were unaware there was a "Free Popcorn with Check-in" promo. The stage was pretty interesting! And the patron space is very generous. There were tables set up and seats behind them. The Amy Winehouse Tribute band started pretty promptly and with SUCH high energy!! It was a 10 piece band, and these guys look like they've been at it together for years. Smooth, in tune, impactful! The main singer "Amy" had a phenomenal soulful voice- much down the lines of Amy herself! The wind instruments (trumpet, sax) were FAB!!! All musicians did their respective solos, which were so fun! We went last night to this oddities event and it was the worst event I ever went to. I feel ripped off. It was $20 Plus tax and the show was worth maybe $5 tops. The vendors inside were weird they had nothing and the show was horrendous. You had someone up there filming and a tv why wouldn't u put the show on the tv so everyone in theatre can see is beyond me. I was pretty close and couldn't see shit. Thank god people had there phone up filming cause that's they only way I was able to see anything. Pretty disappointed and we stayed in there for like 45 min and we had to pay $46. Glad I didn't invite my whole crew for my bday! read more

I went for a comedy show. "Three HYsterical Broads off their meds". It was an embarrassment. The hostess was ok, but the first act was horrid. She was not one bit funny. She was disgraceful. I saw her routine about "the chinese" on Facebook last week. It was not funny on facebook, so why lift it to use in your comedy show? Her act was so predictable in it's disgustingness, and I knew she was f going to jump on me when I saw her nasty little face glaring at my mask, and sure enough she started in on me for wearing a mask. Not that she is owed an explanation, but I have stage 4 cancer, with a severely compromosied immune system, I was trying to have a little fun before my last treatment. And to add insult to injury, the "bouncer" told me to leave, as in - go sit outside, alone in the pitch dark, while waiting for my "friend" who was too embarrassed to rise to her feet and walk out with me. I had to wait for her to finish, so as not to embarrass anyone. I told the bouncer I can't leave because I wasn't driving. He told me to sit there and shut up then. I wasn't making any noise. What a rip off this would have been if I had ONLY had a mask on, and had ONLY been harassed by the socalled funnly woman, but when she yelled out as I was almost out of the room, "Is she OK"?, with a sneer and a snort,in order to get in one last dig on a fleeing cancer patient, I realized it was the rip off of the year. That woman needs to find a new gig. Please give me my money back, so I can go get a real treat for 100.00., maybe a mani-pedi, not some comedian wanna be. read more

Great venue, super staff. We attended a Paul McCartney tribute concert at the Kelsey this past Friday evening with a dear family friend, and I gotta tell ya, we ALL loved it. First: location - a great hip, little, up & coming downtown arts district with a lot of charm. Parking - easy. Lobby/reception area - really nice. It' obvious the owners & management take great pride. Great color scheme of deep artsy reds, accented with prints etc. Very, very friendly greetings by staff all around. We felt very welcome. The theater - perfect acoustics/volume in a really nice room. Comfortable seating too. My wife & I attend a lot of local live music in small venues, and this is one of the best in it's size/space range. It's perhaps the best actually. Didn't walk out feeling assaulted, but rather invigorated and warm all around. I'd highly recommend the Kelsey as an attendee...or a great place to host/showcase your band or event. I understand they host private parties at this venue as well. It would be really cool instead of the same old/lame old hotel rooms! Highly recommended!!! read more

So I got a bottle of water and didn't see the price listed, but I was charged $6 for 1 bottle of WATER. After I paid, I noticed a sign that said water was $2 a bottle. I was out right cheated, but the heavy set "lady" with her hair in pigtails at the outside smoking area bar. I guess, she pocketed my money that she cheated me out of. That is so awful and shady. They hire dishonest cheats at The Kelsey Theater. Watch what your charged at this place. On top of that the sound isn't that great unless you are up front. I'm not at all happy with my experience. It makes me so mad that I was over charged. I won't go back to this venu. read more

The Kelsey are batting zero for two for the first two events we attended. My beef is with the shows themselves. A few weeks ago we saw perhaps THE most cringeworthy show of all time, even worse than the one we were tortured by a few weeks previously. We wont be back until someone with knowledge of booking decent shows is employed there. read more

Went to see "Rebel Scum Burlesque" on Friday 9/14/18. The emcee, Allister, was fantastic. He made the whole show. The staff were all nice and pleasant. The chairs were uncomfortable but tolerable given the price of tickets so I can't really complain about that. The popcorn was great. My only real complaint was the bar selection. They served wine, beer, and alcohol but the only alcohol they had was vodka, rum, and whiskey along with several horribly flavored mixer syrups. If they expanded their beverage selection, they may make enough money to pay the actors more or hey, even get some comfortable chairs. read more

I like the venue but wanted to love it. While initially surprised at the extent of the security, in hindsight (in these trying days) I'd prefer a minor inconvenience than the grave alternative. I am not sure if it's only me, but found the sound system a bit fuzzy. For non-drinkers a better selection of non-alcoholic drinks would be a nice touch. I do agree with your most fervent critic on the security staff. We were hassled for trying to move a seat closer to where our group was sitting. It wasn't in anyone's way and it just seemed to be overkill in the 'chair patrol' department. Again, really want to love it and return more often and do appreciate your contribution to live music in our community. And, by the way, the Blues Beatles are a hidden gem! read more

Brought my daughter to Set It Off last night. Just wanted to tell you that this venue is great! The last time we were there was for Waterparks last year. Between then and now the clientele that they have at this venue continues to be amazing. Last year we couldn't get to the front of the stage (we are vertically challenged) There were 2 older ladies that took charge of my daughter and I, got us as close to the front as possible, and then blocked people from pushing her out of the way and getting in front of her so she could see! Fast forward to 7-9-19...we were 3rd from the front of the stage, the man in front of us was well over 6' tall I told my daughter that we would have to move to be able to see anything. Well the lady in front (was the wife of the tall man) said "when the concert starts your daughter will get in front of me, and you can get behind her, so she could see". Because of the kindness of that woman my daughter got to be front row a little off to the side of center! We had such an amazing time (again) and we love love love your venue and will be back!
