Awsome quiet place to relax, go for a swim in the large pool, fish in the pond, or just go for a walk down the winding paths among the trees. Very clean facility including laundry room. And if you have an event to plan, or get together there are many options for you to choose from all the beautiful buildings wonderfully decorated with tons of antiques. I really liked this place. The pull through we had was pretty level, there are full hookups. The picnic tables are on a concrete pad which I really liked. Andy was especially helpful, pointing out some things for us to do in Columbus. The other campers seemed really nice too. We stayed one short night here as we were driving through. We were full hook up for 2 nights. Reservations were made over the phone which is the only way they do reservations. The staff was friendly and helpful. and our campsite info was clearly made available as we arrived when the office was closed. RV sites are mostly pull through. Water electric and sewer hook up we're closely placed and easy to connect to. The only issue we had with the site were 2 overgrown bushes poorly placed at the end of the pull through that we had to navigate our TT around. Most sites did not have bushes placed like ours did. The WiFi is only available in hot spots. I was able to connect to the service at our TT but could not load anything Did not use showers or laundry. I've attended corporate events in this facility and they were great. So, when a family event came up, it was one of the first places I considered. The event is a Quinceanera party for my niece. The person I worked with was very nice and she tried to be helpful. However, I was informed that there had to be a one-to-one ratio for adults to children. A Quinceanera is a religious ceremony (Catholic) to celebrate a girl's 15th birthday and a reception is held after. I had planned to use the Barn for the reception. Most families with kids have more than 2 so there's no way to achieve a one-to-one ratio. In addition to family, my niece would certainly be able to invite friends. I mentioned 25 adults and 40 kids and was turned away. I am giving the low rating for not being family friendly for event rentals. read more

I love this campground! I've been visiting Lake Pines for a little over 10 years and they've been very kind. My friends and I go to Columbus for the SOA protest each November and instead of staying in a hotel we like to camp out at Lake Pines. The people at Lake Pines constantly do things that you wouldn't expect! Most of the people who are camping there (each November) are from out of town and they've drawn up little maps showing us how to get to the drugstores, the grocery stores, the protest location and the teach in location. In past years they've decorated with strands of lights and set up a couple of campfires for us to sit around- that is way more than you would expect for a campground to do! During the night employees are on duty and keep an eye out for the safety of visitors. I always feel very safe and very welcome when staying at Lake Pines! They're just incredibly hospitable! read more

Small CG, crowded, full hookup. Stayed at No.15 and site was not level, nothing outdoors to cook on, poor excuse of a fire ring. Satellite and WIFI available at site. Cell voice and data excellent. Gravel sites and roadways. Both open and shaded spots. While my spot had no table, others did. Did hear train, but did not keep me from good night sleep. Personnel polite, professional, and friendly. Although this CG accepts Passport America, they don't accept it for weekends when they have rally's or events, which is probably most of the summer. Overall this CG is over-priced, a reasonable stop over at Passport America rates if you can get it. read more

My family and I stayed at lake pines for 1 year. The campground looks nice at first glance entering with the pond and event center on both sides. You'll immediately notice the road that needs to be redone from entry to around the whole park. Once you enter you'll see the event center is taken care of very well once past there it's in need of TLC. The office and laundry house need renovation, the laundry machines need upkeep and maintenance. The community room attached to laundry house is only for groups, not long term stay guests. The playground in unsafe and falling apart, really needs to be redone. The bath house has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic but that's probably for the best. It's very dark, damp, outdated, undercared for. The campground is surrounded by trees which is great for shade but bad for your roof due to branches and pinecones dropping. Many of the trees need trimming or cut down. There is only one dumpster and it will over flow with trash in-between pickups. The campers anywhere near it will smell of waste. The employees do not have any identification, which is a safety concern. They tried to approach my child at the playground when I was sitting outside my camper asking personal questions, I stopped them from asking anything else. The owners could use some work in communication. We had no prior knowledge and they never brought it up to us, they contacted the garrison command on my husband and two other military families saying we were a nuisance and to shut down a Facebook page we were members of (not admins). We were under the impression of being in good graces with them and had no idea. read more

There is a railroad track 50 feet from the campground and the train's whistle in the middle of the night (3 times) is something to behold.

This campground is way overpriced. My husband and I have been 10 minutes from the Gulf Coast for much less than their monthly rate of $350, which does NOT include electricity, and does NOT include amenities such as cable or Wifi (unless you are at the dirty pool or laundry room that is hot and has broken washing and drying machines...).The gravel roads are not kept up. There are pot holes everywhere, standing water, and trenches that are not marked and will jolt your unit driving through, even at a slow speed. Everyone that knows Georgia, knows they have tons of mosquitoes. I've never been to a campground that doesn't fog for mosquitoes when they have standing water/swampy areas very close to campers. They have all these rules online about how camper sites need to be kept up, yet they have many FEMA trailers packed next to each other surrounded by trash. This campground seems to nickel and dime their customers every chance they get. Oh, and don't even think about taking your dog for a walk in the tall grass! Pictures online are VERY misleading! Their are piles of gravel, trash, such as large metal objects in the "hiking paths" (good luck making it through the tall grass), and logs from cut down trees EVERYWHERE! They need to take more pride in their business and clean up the joint. Also, I think it is important to enforce the speed limit, but their piling up gravel (causing standing water when it rains) is ridiculous. They make plenty of money....buy some speed bumps!!! The train is literally a short stone throw away from many long term sites. NO long term sites have nice cement patios like the short terms do, and I feel like long term sites probably pay dearly to cover the short term A/c bills in the summer months. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere before booking a stay here. The only reason they are busy is because their are no other options around here, but that is no excuse to have a poor facility. read more
