Always a fun getaway close to home. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Property is kept so clean and camping is very affordable especially in the Ringtail area. Love the shuttle down to Dillon's.

Talk about one stop Shop! Quite Splendid! Jet skis, Paddle-boarding, private boat charters, and more! We started with renting the Jet Skies! Easy to do. We wanted to check them my for an hour to start and then frolic around the other areas! So much fun. The lake is huge! So much to cover. I loved being out on the water I forgot how fun jet Skies are. They are Wonderful. They have a floating obstacle course. Yeah crazy! A bar and grill with a great view of the lake. I'll be coming here any chance I get. They This is a great vacation. For the whole family. This Should be called Happy Town! Checking it out may change your outlook.

Back to the Sonoran desert! Saguaro and Teddy bear cholla cacti line the trails along with creosote and palo verde trees - and more fora and fauna I do not know. I know the desert looks thirsty now, but it is still so stellar. I pedaled my Santa Cruz Mountain bike on the Wild Burro, Beardsley, Pipeline and Cottonwood trails. Trails are moderate, hard pack, not too technical, some rocky, easy flow to ride or hike. The sun so warm and the air a cool 55 degrees made for a great ride. You can ride onto the Maricopa trial that connects all regional parks in Maricopa Copa County - that is a 300 mile trail. Thank the heavens for the rain! There are approximately 600 wild burro's roaming the desert because they can bath and drink in this amazing lake. I got some pics and videos of the burro's to show ya. Hike, bike, camp, pedal and boat this is a place you do not wanna miss when checking out Phoenix in Maricopa County. Outdoor fun in the sun, you can keep a distance from the virus. Be safe! Get outdoors into the Sonoran Desert.

My Aquatic Therapy. It's been ions since I've been here & finally had the opportunity to take the family boat out. I don't recall an entry fee my last time here circa 1998...but hey what's $7 for a relaxing time on the water? Plus while we were boating I thought I saw a Smallmouth Bass as the lake encompasses a lot of different fish species. Aside from watering it out on the boats, fishing, scuba diving, water/jet skiing & even windsurfing, other recreational activities include RV parking, mountain biking, camping, picnicking & hiking. There a many nooks & crannies where you can actually take a pause to enjoy the surroundings. 411: *Multiple Boat Docks & Beach Access. *An Artificial Reservoir with primary inflows of the Agua Fria River & considered one of the most ARs around the Phoenix area. *Beautiful scenery at the park & ruins of Hohokam Puebloans Village. *Dillion's Restaraunt on the Harbor. *Pleasant Harbor Convenience Store. *Various Resorts close by. *Host for the annual Bill Luke Big Bass Days. *The Pleasant Valley Airport is 3 miles away. *Pet mostly dogs friendly. *Easy access to Freeways. I recommend Lake Pleasant for any water outings, especially if you don't want to travel too far from the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

Water, water, water in the desert! Fun place to visit and chill. Love camping here. Arizona wild life in full bloom all seasons. Not to hard to do in Arizona. We only have two seasons. Hot as Hell, and mildly chilly.

Beautiful lake for so many activities. We went paddle boarding and the water level was so high we could paddle around an island that was not an island the end of last year. $7 parking fee for cars. We drove to an area called fireman's cove, parked and put in our board right behind our SUV. The water was clear and in the high 70s but felt warm.

A great hang-out place for us as it is 20 mins drive only and so we have been here multiple times. We love it every time we go here. Serenity and peaceful with a big lake view. The restaurant on the deck is a cool and a great place to eat lunch there sitting next to the lake. I would highly recommend this place for even day trips. Sometimes this place is very crowded and you will see people all over the park. Plenty of water activities to do and a great place for private boats too.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for Lake Pleasant. We come here monthly for an activity one of my children is enrolled in. People at the entrance gate are always nice and helpful. Fee to enter the park is $7.00 Living in the desert, it's nice to have a lake to escape to. Lake itself is large enough to bring sailboats, motorized boats, and paddle craft. Paddle craft should be advised that sometimes the larger boats can be a little wild. This is especially true in the summer months. We have been sailing on the lake. It was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. It always seems to be windier at the lake, than it is in town. People may also swim in the lake. Spots at the marina may be rented out. This includes dock spaces for houseboats. As an added level of security, only those renting a space get a gate code, and bathroom code for where boats dock. This doesn't mean the marina is exclusively for those who dock their boats there. There is an area to enjoy that marina feel. That includes a restaurant; Dillion's Bayou. Restrooms are also available. Shuttles are available to take visotors from particular parking lots to the harbor. A limited amount of shared storage is on the back of these large golf carts. Remember, you are going to be sharing the space with everybody else on the shuttle. Do not plan on bringing too much. Also, remember to bring money to tip drivers. Lake Pleasant is also a popular camping destination. Campsites near the office have been packed any weekend we have driven by. As on gets further from that area, campsites are less populated. Especially in the off-season. Being the desert, there isn't much shade. Bring your own shade, if you can. Also, don't forget plenty of water. Other than the lake, there isn't much around for miles. Due to that void, a gas station is located near the boat storage area. A fire department is also based at the lake.

We love the lake in Arizona cause it's so dang hot we will take anything. Lake Pleasant is clean and easy to access. Regular entrance fee is $7. There are plenty of places to unload your Boats and toys. There are also a lot of different spots to just hangout in the water and BBQ or splash around. We also found tables with covers to sit and have a little picnic which had BBQs at each little Ramada. We will be back more that it's hot already!

Whoa! How have I not come here before?! My family and I came a couple of weeks ago to go on their boat, and we had so much fun! The lake was fairly clean, aside from a few dead fish that we passed by. We went super early a Saturday morning and the line to get in was PACKED. This is clearly the spot to come during summer, there's so many coves and amazing little spots. There is a couple of negatives; there is absolutely no boating or jet ski etiquette, no one is patient or very nice when it comes to docking. We were almost hit by another boat because they were not paying attention and had come out of nowhere. Would highly recommend trying this lake out, but absolutely be careful because others are not paying attention to where they're going, the lake signs on speed, or aware of their surroundings and other people.

The park was closed, but turtles were exempt.

Friends, we finally got to visit Lake Pleasant in Peoria AZ. We got to enjoy some beautiful scenery and saw lots of boats! Unfortunately the play ground was closed, but I imagine it's a fun place to unwind after a long week. Happy trails! @Gorgeous. George2020

I've watched Lake Pleasant grow in popularity over the years but I find it interesting how many of my neighbors don't even know it exists. The lake is located in north Phoenix, offers ample parking, boat docks and even beach access. The water is pretty cleaIf you don't have a boat, affordable rental prices make you feel like you own one for an afternoon. Lots of water skiing, jet skiing, and other water sports...even a huge water slide. The distance from the parking lot to marina is walkable but you can hop a ride in a golf cart shuttle too. There is a restaurant at the marina called Dillon's. Haven't visited this location but have visited several other Dillion's locations in the valley...delicious food!

If you're looking for a "dip your toes in and call it adventure" kind of trip, this ain't it. This…read moreis the real deal and Arizona River Runners delivers it with a throttle. I went the motorized raft route, and I'll tell you straight, it's the perfect balance of thrill and sanity. You've got young guns, older folks, everybody laughing, holding on, and living the same moment. One minute you're punching through rapids, the next you're cruising those calm stretches at a steady clip, maybe 8 mph, just soaking it all in. And that's the beauty of it, you cover serious ground without sacrificing the experience. If you don't have 10 days to disappear into the canyon but still want to feel it in your bones, this is your move. Now listen, getting on the water in Grand Canyon isn't something you just wake up and decide to do. Permits, reservations, planning...this is high demand, bucket list territory. You do your homework, plan ahead, and you can make it happen. You wait till the last minute? Good luck. This isn't your local float trip. And then there's the part nobody really prepares you for. The canyon messes with you in a good way, mostly. I swear this is the second time I've felt like I saw Bigfoot out there. Not joking. Starts making you wonder, is it one Bigfoot, multiple, is he just pacing the canyon like he owns it? Add in a little déjà vu, the silence, the scale of it all, your mind starts wandering places you didn't expect. Daytime, it's raw. Sun beating down, heat cooking you alive, jumping into the river whether it looks crystal clear or straight up brown just to cool off. Nighttime, whole different world. Stars like you've never seen, Milky Way stretched across the sky, dead quiet except for the river and a crackling fire. Cold drink in hand, swapping stories, realizing you're sitting in one of the most unreal places on earth. But don't get it twisted, this place demands respect. The canyon is massive, and it'll remind you quick how small you are. People make it through just fine until they don't. Heat, terrain, isolation, it's not forgiving. There are spots out there where if something goes sideways, you're not just hiking your way out. That's part of what makes it real. End of the day, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There's something about finishing a trip like this, grateful, a little humbled, maybe a little paranoid about Bigfoot, but knowing you just experienced something most people never will.

Reserving a spot and kayak is easy on the online website. Once you navigate down to the main road to the Guest Ranch, it can be a little confusing as they always have a roadblock as you progress towards the parking lot. Just proceed past the sign to the parking lot ahead. After parking, walk back towards the ranch and check in. Guest services will provide a wrist band as well as a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Once your reservation time is ready, you will be provided a quick orientation of the equipment, navigation of the river and where the staff will pick you up at the end of your float. The staff is always super helpful. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a carabiner to hook on your dry bag or backpack to the kayak. Even though the majority of the river is an easy float, there are some small rapids. You may accidentally flip the kayak if you get caught in a tough spot on the River. This will prevent you from losing your bag! I'm experienced and have flipped once or twice. Depending on the time of year and water flow, the float can take 2 or 3 hours. Beautiful views of the landscape, wildlife including various birds and the gorgeous wild horses! At the end of the float, the staff will load your kayaks and take you back to the Guest Ranch. In the main building, be sure to stop by the gift shop prior or after the float for souvenirs or in case you forgot supplies you may need.
