The parking is paid and can be paid for by either the parking meters installed at the park or through the website (the QR code on the meters or use the site https://parkedin.com/?). It's all beautifully laid, you can see people kayaking, rowing, etc. it's a quiet park, I'd say. As you can see, the sunset views are astonishing. I just couldn't take my eyes off of it. All in all, I highly recommend this park for all ages.

I was always able to take public transit there or get my parents to drive me. It's a large park to have a stroll, picnic or to play in the playground. It was a lot of fun being there. I would be surprised and forget how big it was just cause I didn't always have the opportunity to explore the park. Also, I remember a time where people were able to fly kites till it was banned. I don't know if they still do fireworks. For a time, the park would arrange fireworks on Canada Day and a lot of people would attend. During events like this, people would park at the Alton Towers plaza, walked or transit there because parking was limited. Local high school students would do their volunteer hours at the community center on the park. I think they need to apply online through the main city website (if memory serves me correctly).

The trail is somewhat circular, and can vary from 2-3 km depending on where you walk. The trails are pretty easy and flat. The trails on the north side of the park pass by residential back yards and are primarily dirt trails, which can get muddy after a rain. You also pass by some nice brick houses on the west side of the park. Overall, a pretty nice walk if you're looking for something easy and don't want to break a sweat.

For real!) -there is a lovely canopy of trees over the walking trail (which was very welcome, on the hot day I visited), and plenty of benches to relax along the way -there are areas of grassy meadow lands on small hills in areas by the walking trail, perfect for a picnic or throwing a frisbee on a nice day -my Toronto friend says sometimes she's seen people fishing in the pond! It's down a bit of a hill from the road, and you'll see a parking lot on the right which is where you park. While you can continue to drive down to the beach, there is no parking and you would be blocking emergency vehicles in the event of a problem. The bathrooms are pretty good here and there were lots of people on that warm and windy day in August. This is a great spot to keep in mind when in Barrie as it's close to downtown.

Most new parks I'm introduced to by my dad who walks anywhere and everywhere with our dog, Cooper. We were both feeling like an evening stroll and an ice cream and he suggested going down to Bronte - an area that is really nice, but not one I often go to! We parked at a waterfront park which seemed like the trail was very elevated but as we walked down I noticed a sign that said this spot was okay for swimming. I was a bit hesitant to believe that because...you know..lake Ontario? Swimming? Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This beach is adorable, well maintained, the perfect spot for an evening picnic. The shoreline was sandy and not full of rocks like many other beaches in this area. There is an area on the opposite side of the pier that is more rocky, but you could still sit on larger rocks or bring a chair on that side as well. The trail itself isn't too long, so if you're looking for more of a hike this probably isn't your jam.

Ah yes. This place…read more To the north, you have three soccer fields, two tennis courts, a playground, a running track, a gazebo, and a water park. The water park is really lackluster, no one uses it. The gazebo is regularly occupied in the morning by Asian grannies doing tai chi. A sight to behold. The south has a baseball field, a larger playground, a skatepark, a basketball court, two more tennis courts, and another soccer field. This half is often bustling with activity, especially in the summer. The place looks right proper and is well-maintained by the staff. The pond is a nice touch that is surrounded by the verdant fields. If you haven't come to this place for a little walk, give it a try. Just look out for the geese.
