We drove up in September for a CHIN event at the Watkins Glen International Raceway, and our stay at the inn was a highlight. All of the reviews are so true; this is THE place to stay. In addition to serving us a fabulous hot breakfast (alight, beautiful scone, Ithaca Farms yogurt with homemade granola, French toast bake with a bourbon honey sauce and peaches and blueberries, coffee, hot tea, OJ), they provided us two days of breakfast to go since we had to go the track much earlier than they were serving the hot breakfast at 8:30 a.m. These were the goodies in our two days' breakfast to go: fruit (perfect strawberries and nectarines ), bread (croissants , gorgeous french with butter, banana bread), hardboiled brown eggs, mozzarella sticks, chocolate biscotti imported from a bakery in New Jersey , wet wipes, thick napkins, utensils, OJ, water, nut snacks, Nutella/pretzels, peanut butter with special crackers, divided between the two days, of course. Not only did David and Brian welcome us with a lovely wine happy hour on our first day, they also recommended hikes to take, wineries to visit, and restaurants to try. Among their recommendations, these were the restaurants we enjoyed: -Graft: local wine and beer. Tomato salad, mac and cheese with chicken sausage, and bread plate. -Maria's cheeseburger, a hole in the wall with fabulous cheeseburgers, near Colonial inn ice cream at which we ordered salted caramel and peanut butter blast, chunks of peanut butter in chocolate ice cream. The ice cream was soooo creamy! -Jerlandos: pizza and garlic knots (YUM), which we ate outside. We had $5 off $35 coupon from a wine map. -Sinclair's gas station for fabulous subs/hoagies! I have a picture of a whole sub that my husband and I shared (and could have shared with one more person!) and of the thick, fluffy bread, homemade every morning at the store, which is in a gas station! One of the owners, David, is a chef who makes it his business to prepare daily a scrumptious 3 course breakfast with locally sourced products. The place was cozy, comfortable and impeccable. The atmosphere was friendly we felt like we were visiting old friends! I highly Recommended it!

One the things that came to mind for me after spending three nights at the inn was that it is like…read morea cruise that isn't a cruise. Why? It's not a ship but it's the kind of place you are welcome to come and go from. Or stay on "deck" that day. So comfy it's hard to mention all of them. Cozy corners in and out. Even a basket of blankets at the front door if you are chilled. The lights on all the exterior lines of this beautiful Victorian lead you up the hill to home after a dinner at a local restaurant. And your take-away (or home-prepared food) is welcome in the guest frig. Guests congregate on the porches, in the gazebo, in the spacious game room, library, jigsaw puzzle room, and on the lawns all day. So much comfy seating at all times. (I think there are over 100 chairs of all kinds in this inn.) Four more amenities that also stand out are the different coffees and snacks you are welcome to all day and night; the USB connections in all guest rooms; the puzzles, games and books to convince you to relax; and the automatic lights throughout the common rooms that stay on until 1 am. Oh, and an Alexa speaker in the gazebo where you can play your favorite streaming music! Marcus and Elin have thought of everything.

Amazing RV park!I can't stop talking about the Finger Lakes RV park and the great experience we had…read morethere. FLRV opened in the last couple years and is a great addition to the camping options around the Finger Lakes. Located about 1/3 of the way up the eastern side of Seneca Lake, the location provides easy access to the wineries, distilleries, and breweries along the lake.This is a family owned campground and the owners were very friendly and took pride in their business. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are included at check-in.  The campground sites are very large and spread out. Being a newer campground, the trees are small, but that did not take away from the experience. Easy maneuverability, great wifi and water pressure, along with level sites make it a great place to stay. The bath house is emmaculate and rivals those at Fort Wilderness Resort. Amenities are minimal (no pool, playground, or golf carts), but they are bookended by two wineries with walking paths from the campground. Due to the minimal amenities, it is very quiet and relaxing especially in the evenings sitting around the campfire.  I look forward to returning to the Finger Lakes RV park as this is easily one of our top campgrounds when needing to relax.

The grounds are immaculate, the owners are genuinely friendly, and it's obvious they take tremendous pride in maintaining the property. Everything is spotless, the sites are level and well-appointed, and the utility hookups are thoughtfully placed and easy to use. Since our last visit two years ago, they've added a fitness center and community room, both of which are great improvements. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country and within walking distance of two wineries. It's hard to beat. So why four stars instead of five? The reservation system. When you book, you don't actually reserve a specific site, you reserve a site type. If you want to guarantee the site you've been shown or assigned, you have to pay an additional "site lock" fee. Unfortunately, I didn't realize just how much that mattered. We booked our stay in May for a July visit. For the next two months, every confirmation and piece of correspondence from the resort indicated we would be in Site 61. Naturally, we assumed that was our site. We arrived for the 2:00 p.m. check-in at 2:01, right behind another RV. To my surprise, they were given Site 61, and we were reassigned at the last second. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care. A campsite is a campsite...unless the replacement site happens to be directly beside the dog park. My wife and I are simply not dog people. We don't dislike responsible pet owners, but we prefer not to spend our vacation listening to constant barking. Instead, we were serenaded by barking throughout the day, barked at whenever we sat outside our RV, and awakened around 7:00 a.m. on most mornings by dogs in the park next door. To the owners' credit, they did offer to move us after two days when another site became available. I genuinely appreciate that. But anyone who RVs knows that once you've spent the time leveling, setting up, connecting utilities, arranging the patio, and getting settled, the last thing you want to do is tear everything down just to move across the campground. The whole experience felt a lot like flying these days: if you don't pay extra to choose your seat, you'll somehow end up in the middle seat, at the back of the plane, next to the bathroom. Technically you still got what you paid for, but not exactly the vacation experience you were expecting. Going forward, I'll gladly pay the site lock fee because now I know how the system works. But I also think the campground could do a better job making it crystal clear that the site shown in your confirmations is not actually your reserved site unless you've paid to lock it in. That would save guests from the confusion and disappointment we experienced. Despite this issue, this remains one of the nicest RV resorts we've visited, and we'll absolutely be back.

I stopped by Clute Park with my husband last week when we were in Waktins Glen for a day over the…read moreFourth of July weekend, which we spent exploring the Finger Lakes. We stopped by Clute Park to take in the views of Seneca Lake, and it does have some nice views. There are also basketball courts, bathrooms, a food vendor stand (although they didn't look open when we were there), a beach area, a playground, and more. I'm sure it's a great spot for families staying in town (and especially those staying in the campground across the street from the park), but you can only pay for the day (not for the hour), so we spent about $8 to just by for a bit to enjoy the views. It's probably possible to find street or free parking nearby and then walk over, but - since it was a holiday weekend - parking was harder to find than usual. The views from the park were okay, but I'd say this park is really a place for families to use the amenities in the park, not for casual tourists in town.

Good gravel roads, spacious site, and full hookups made it easy. Very close to down town, kids park across the street, and right at the bottom of the lake; so close to everything. The staff was very nice and accommodating as well. Great place to stay!
