She made a delicious and healthy breakfast every morning and the baked goods in the evening were a nice touch. Everything was delicious. The Reisling room has a comfortable king size bed and is very nicely decorated. The shower water pressure was a little harder than what we expected and storage was at a minimum but we made due with that. There are other larger rooms and we would try one of them if we stay a long time.My husband and I enjoyed the best couple massage at the lovely spa next door. My wife and I came here from Rochester for a long weekend. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our stay. The inn is very charming and has so much character. We stayed in the Pinot Suite and the bathroom was a great size, room very clean, comfortable, and well kept for the duration of our stay. Everyone was incredibly friendly and breakfast each morning was a treat with local and fresh products used. We booked a couples massage package and were very happy with the quality of the massage and the therapists were very friendly. The only thing I'd consider when deciding to stay here is noise. It's an older house with other guests so with that we could hear creaks, running water, and other guests in adjoining suites periodically. You're also right off the main road in town so you'll hear cars going by and things like that. We didn't find it bothersome at all and found it all to be part of the charm, just something others may want to consider. All in all, would love to come and stay again. Whether it's a long weekend or a week-long getaway to check out the Finger Lakes, Gothic Eves is a great additive complement to any occasion and I'd encourage anyone to stay here! read more

We searched for a while online looking for the perfect place to stay just north of Ithaca - we found it. The rooms are clean and cozy. Well thought out room designs. There are two buildings - the main one with the breakfast area (and hot tub) and the other building where we stayed. We enjoyed it - and it was quiet. The breakfasts were made with great care. There was a touch of creativity in each dish (day 1 we had mint chia seed pudding which was also her first time making it I believe). Made with fresh ingredients. If not from the garden (truly farm to table) then locally sourced. They checked with us prior for any food allergies and our drink preference in the AMs and then didnt forget it. Great location as well to get to wineries, hiking trails, Cornell, Downtown Ithaca, etc. Highly recommend. read more

We stopped here relatively late in the day looking for a room after a reservation fell through. It was so lovely. The owner Rose was so nice helping us book over the phone and the inn keeper Michelle was so wonderful. Our breakfast was yogurt with fruit and homemade granola with a monte Cristo sandwich with a rhubarb berry maple sauce. It was to die for. The hospitality of this place is unmatched. We stayed from September 27-October 2. With staying 5 nights we received a complimentary massage for each of us. We absolutely loved the decor of Gothic Eves. I've always wanted to own an Inn and Rose and I have identical taste! The Bordeaux room was beautiful. We loved that it was on the first floor and we did not have to lug all our luggage up circular staircases. The breakfasts were wonderful accompanied by French Press coffee. We loved chatting with Rose on our first morning there and at check in. We really enjoyed getting to know Mary the other days. The massages were wonderful and exactly what we needed! They were suited to our needs as we consulted with the massage therapist, Raven. Every morning I sat on the porch swing for nearly 20 minutes in a wonderfully refreshing 58 degree weather! Just a couple things we wish the Inn had... a few more hooks in the room. I know the room is original and not built for a closet, but somehow more places to hang clothes and wet towels from after a shower. And maybe a refrigerator and microwave for guest use along with some bottled water. We had to leave a few leftovers at the restaurants because we did not have a way to keep the food cold and/or reheat . Other than that if ever back in the area, we would stay here! read more

I'm so late writing this review because our trip was last September '19; but, hey, better late than never. I do a lot of research when choosing a place to lay my precious weary head ( and rest my feet-hee hee). When Hubby and I decided on a road trip to Niagara Falls --gotta love trips in the Tesla Model 3-I thought about doing a few days in the Finger Lakes area. This was our first trip to the Finger Lakes and I heard it was serene and naturally beautiful. So it was off to trusty Yelp ( heck yeah, I trust you guys) and Trip Advisor to compare places to stay. I was attracted to the many good reviews for The Inn at Gothic Eves. I also liked that there was a spa where we could get a much needed therapeutic massage. So, we booked the Merlot Room. Upon entering we were greeted by Rose, who was most helpful and gave us all the info we needed. She also helped us book a couples massage in the spa with therapists she felt were best for our individual needs. I forget names, but my guy ( younger, slim brother) knew his stuff and did an excellent job by the way! Anyway, Merlot Suite was a nice second floor suite. Only two on that floor. Stairs to get up where smaller and wind-y, so keep in mind if you have difficulties. It was odd that the front door opened right into the bathroom, but it's so that the back space can be for a secluded bedroom with a garden view. There was a ledge so the toilet was a little shielded from the door. Nice shower, but no tub in this room. Sunken in bedroom was pleasant and well appointed. One little complaint- floor was creeky in this room. Don't know if this can be remedied. I don't like to complain, so when Breakfast was made with eggs I wasn't going to say anything. But Hubby knows I won't eat eggs, so he asked Rose if she had anything more plain. She didn't, but was nice enough to make me a Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich without eggs. That was kind. We didn't use the hot tub ( extra fee) but would have had it been free. Next time maybe. I noticed via emails and website that when Rose opened The Inn after the NY COVID lockdown, many restrictions have been put in place. I know it seems mean, but I can tell she is very concerned about keeping "Ms. RONA" away from her place. We are about the visit the area again, but won't be there for the number of nights required this time. It's cool, because I too am staying away from Rona as much as possible, so we are going secluded this trip. But we wouldn't hesitate to return to The Inn next time. Truly a very last minute, same day booking crisis led us to Inn at Gothic Eves. So happy that they had vacancy on one of the worst weekends to be in Ithaca since it was visiting weekend for parents for their beloved children in Uni. Since it was a late night booking, I really expected nothing but a clean bed and bathroom lol however was literally mind. blown. Rose and Ron were the sweetest, kindest and most attentive hosts ever! Hoping for some peace, quiet, deep quality sleep and hopefully a good hearty breakfast...received all of that and beyond! Booked the Pinot suite for 2 nights. It was recently renovated and beautifully appointed with a gorgeous and so very comfortable queen bed, 2 welcoming recliner like chairs and a huge bathroom with a 2 person jacuzzi soaking tub, separate rain shower and heated floors in the bathroom y'all! Heated. Floors. Seriously.....need I say more?! Breakfast was equally fabulous. All ingredients were either from their gorgeous backyard garden or locally sourced, some just right up the block, like their delicious pot of Gimme Coffee! Rose served up her version of Eggs Benedict one day and again her version of A Monte Cristo sandwich with a warm fresh berry rhubarb compote and local maple syrup. The grounds are kept beautifully and serene. LOVED that walking into town took literally 3 minutes and that there were multiple waterfall viewing hiking trail parks close to the B&B too! I don't know where to begin!! This GEM of a place made our trip so special. I can't recommend staying here enough. Rose is the sweetest and took time to tell us the must sees and dos of the area. This b&b is so clean and we felt 100% safe during our stay given the circumstances. Our room was so cozy and comfortable! The breakfast is phenomenal and truly elevated the experience. There were so many hospitable touches like fresh baked cookies as a late night snack and the cutest coffee tray in the morning. Id like to start off with saying that this was my first experience at a bed and breakfast, and It was very pleasant! I stayed here last weekend for three nights during a mini-vacation to the finger lakes region. My fiancé and I were in the Pinot suite which was phenomenal and obviously recently renovated (just as the entire property has been) with a bathroom that was amazing to match. This bed and breakfast is warm, cozy and inviting yet has modern decor in the rooms/suites that are absolutely breathtaking. Rose prepared great organic breakfasts every morning that were delicious. She was very accommodating to my fiancés food preference and even recommended some things to do around town such as the Ithaca's farmers market (highly recommend as well). Staying here really was a great addition to our trip, and we will very likely be back if we are ever in the region again! read more

They were really rude, and I didn't understand why. I was a paying customer but they made me feel like a burden. I understand that there is a pandemic so I wanted to get away from the routine and she made me feel like I made a horrible choice on picking them. Rose Hilbert treated like I was dumb. Anyways. I got a packaged with massage. She revoked the massage and offered me wine. I don't drink and then she caught an attitude and it was that or nothing at all. This was our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. We were apprehensive because we've always stayed at nice hotels and resorts when out of town. So we searched online for many hours looking for places to stay for our trip to the finger lakes region of New York. My wife and I read many reviews and looked at many pictures of rooms until she read the reviews about The Inn At Gothic Eves. We felt this was the place for us and we booked it through Expedia. We are now spoiled and will always look for a B & B the next time we take a trip out of town. We are spoiled because it's going to be hard to find a host and hostess as terrific as Rose and Ron. Rose was very welcoming and knowledgeable about where to eat and where to go for hikes and day trips. Ron was the master chef who turned out an incredible breakfast each morning. Our room had a very comfortable king sized bed with a rain shower in the bathroom. I highly recommend the Riesling Room. The home is very comfortable and within walking distance of the very quaint village of Trumansburg. But the best part was meeting the other guests at breakfast and having great conversation with Rose serving coffee and sharing her knowledge of the area. An absolute must stay in Trumansburg!! My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 year with a two night stay at the Inn. The property was beautiful- 1800's charm with beautiful woodwork and so many wonderful updates. Our suite was spotless, beautifully decorated and we were spoiled with a large jacuzzi tub and rain shower. We booked the "Hot! Hot! Hot!" Package and had a wonderful hot stone massage, sauna session and dip in the outdoor jacuzzi- it was the PERFECT addition to our stay-- next time we'll add a bottle of champagne to our arrival! Rose and her husband Ron were extremely pleasant and accommodating-- super informative about local hot spots and places to eat and visit. Both mornings we enjoyed a farm to table breakfast with all locally sourced ingredients and some out of this world homemade jam. (I bought two we loved it so much!) I highly recommend a stay here- if you've never been to Trumansburg it is the perfect place to "unplug" or go "off the grid", yet still so incredibly close to the most breathtaking views of the finger lakes and countless things to do. Definitely plan a trip to Finger Lakes Cider House while you're in the area! We will be back for sure!! read more

Everything you wished for and more... My wife and I spent two evenings at the Gothic Eves and we couldn't have been more happy with it. From the moment we arrived we didn't need to think about anything other than relaxing. Our hosts, Rose and Roman, were extremely friendly, down-to-earth and gracious. We made it a point to take full advantage of all the wonderful amenities that the Eves had to offer - including the hot tub heated by a wood burning stove, a camp style fire pit (outfitted by Roman himself), and the elite spa services. If you are just looking to unwind and read a book, there are a couple of chairs and swings to relax on the grounds. All in all, the Gothic Eves offered topnotch accommodations with some local charm. I would recommend it to anyone. We hope to return next year. BTW... be sure to check out Hazelnut Restaurant in Trumansburg - just a short walk up the street. Great food and atmosphere. read more

My partner and I were looking for a bed and breakfast at which to have a small wedding ceremony, with guests staying on location and activities both on- and offsite. When we visited Gothic Eves and met the owner, Rose, we knew we had the perfect location. The Inn is elegant and perfectly appointed, and Rose is friendly, attentive, and professional. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and there are a number of amenities on the grounds like a hot tub, fire pit, hammocks, and picnic tables that make for a relaxing atmosphere with a variety of options available. Rose's breakfasts are not to be missed and wherever possible use fresh, local, organic ingredients. Rose was very helpful in coordinating the event and, as we were unfamiliar with the area, provided creative suggestions and excellent recommendations for caterers, restaurants, and anything else we needed from the region. This allowed us to have a wonderful weekend that all of our family and friends enjoyed immensely. The size and variety of the Inn's common areas (and careful coordination by Rose and her excellent staff) made it possible for our guests to move from event to event in a unique manner. The Mrs. and wanted to do something different this vacation and that was to stay at a B&B in wine country. After doing much research about the region we landed reservations in this charming Bed and Breakfast. This place definitely lived up to all the reviews we encountered on the net. Our host, Rose was very delightful during our questions on the phone and making the reservations as well as upon our arrival. The place is very well kept, modern but yet still had that old world charm and character. The accommodations were delightful and the breakfasts were outstanding. The breakfasts were farm to table, hosting many of the local gardens and farms. She also has a Spa associated with the establishment and stepping outside our comfort zone we took the plunge on a couples massage. The masseuse made us most comfortable and relaxed. This will definitely be a return trip for us when we come back to hit the other regions on the wine country. read more

We arrived Sunday evening to be greeted by the adorable resident miniature Australian Shepherd and then Rose made us a reservation for Hazelnut (amazing food!). The house was beautifully maintained, our room was thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable (we splurged and got the Pinot Suite with a jetted tub - such a treat!). Took advantage of the jacuzzi that night to do some star-gazing. Other guests sat around the firepit a little further down the property (will definitely check that out next time I visit). It was quiet and comfortable and I didn't want to leave! Breakfast Monday morning was delicious and we had great conversation with the other guests. This is a gem! read more

Our stay at the Inn at Gothic Eves was tranquil. The room (The Pinot) was beautiful and very clean. I enjoyed using the rain shower, jacuzzi tub, and just laying on the bed in the morning with the windows open-feeling a nice breeze and hearing the birds chirping. We had full body massages in their spa, done by caring professionals. We left feeling completely renewed and relaxed! Rose was a wonderful host, she is full of information and great to talk to. I'm fairly new to Yelp, and don't often take the time to write reviews, but I had to make an exception here. My husband and I have visited many B&B's over the past 25 years, and The Inn at Gothic Eves is hands-down my favorite. This was our first visit to the Finger Lakes, and we fell in love. Regardless of which lake we visit next, we'll be staying with Rose. Our room, along with every room in the house and spa, was impeccably clean! I can't stress this enough, as it's one of my biggest pet peeves when I travel. The decor is modern, yet classy. We opted for the couples massage at the spa. The original stone and exposed beams in the massage room was gorgeous. It added so much to the experience. We'll definitely take advantage of this amenity on future visits. Breakfast each morning was AMAZING. . .fresh fruit, local, organic eggs, meats, cheeses, and fresh herbs from Rose's garden. I've not had a more relaxing vacation in years. Rose even provides coupons and literature for wine tastings, tours, etc. I could literally go on and on, but my words won't give the Inn the justice it deserves. Wonderful experience! Rose and Ron were exceptionally warm and gracious hosts. Our room was even more beautiful than it looked in the picture. Gorgeous gardens. We were not able to make it the spa but heard all great things from other guests. And THE BREAKFAST- the whole trip would have been worth it for the breakfast. Sunlit room, Gimme Coffee (a cool local chain), farm fresh and locally sourced everything. Rose and Ron are masters in the kitchen. You could not ask for a more perfect start of the day. Rented both the Cayuga Suite and Seneca Suite for a night and had a wonderful stay. Rose was so gracious and also prepared a delicious breakfast the next morning. These rooms were in the second house on the property, above the Spa. It was quiet and the rooms were extremely spacious. It also had outdoor chairs and a hammock to enjoy after a long day at the wineries. Had dinner at Hazelnut Kitchen in downtown Trumansburg (you can actually walk there from the Inn - about 10 mins) which I'd highly recommend. Will definitely look to stay at the Inn at Gothic Eves again next time I'm in the Finger Lakes. read more

My wife and I came here for a wedding anniversary weekend and loved it! Great location from Ithaca, some good hiking nearby as well as the wineries of course. We stayed in the Pinot suite which was well appointed and comfortable. Loved the jacuzzi tub and large walk in shower. I had ordered some flowers, a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates for my wife and they were all there as promised. The chocolates were local and delicious, the flowers beautiful and the sparkling local Riesling was also excellent. We also did a couples massage at the spa next store which was excellent. Rose the innkeeper gave us lots of great advice on local restaurants and wineries. The breakfasts were also delicious out on their nice sunny porch. The buildings are beautiful inside newly renovated. I didn't spend the night we just went for the "spa"... I'm still slightly confused. It is clearly not a spa. It is a nice home that they can arrange for you to have s massage. The therapist were excellent... Quite possibly the best treatment I've ever had. When we thought we were going to a spa you would think they have a Jacuzzi or a sauna. We could have got the same service at the b&b we were staying at and just jumped in the hot tub there before and after instead of having to drive 25 min each way. read more

We went in October 2014. All of the rooms were lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We especially liked the homemade pepper jelly. My husband and I also opted for 2 nights of hot tub and a couples massage. The entire grounds are very well maintained. Please be advised that we were able to see and hear people on the school property several hundred feet away during our hot tub sessions, even around 9ish. The facilities are excellent...the room itself is lovely, and the bathroom - especially the shower - is really well done. The renovations to the house that includes the Seneca Suite, Cayuga Suite, and the spa are really quite impressive. My husband and I stayed at this charming little B&B with my parents for our daughter's graduation from Cornell University. We reserved 2 rooms for 5 nights, the Merlot Room (2nd floor in the back of the house) and the Syrah Room (2nd floor in the front). Both rooms were very luxurious and comfortable, with updated furnishings and very modern bathrooms. Each morning we received a different delicious gourmet breakfast made with farm-fresh and organic ingredients. These included omelettes with swiss chard and feta, gourmet french toast topped with lemon-thyme ricotta and strawberries, and fabulous crepes with maple syrup rolled strawberries. Rose was a wonderful hostess. I am only sorry that we didn't discover this wonderful inn when our daughter started her 4 years at Cornell, then we would have been regular repeat visitors! read more

We stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast as a surprise for me from my husband for our anniversary. Rose and her husband were so nice and made us feel so at home. The house was gorgeous. Our room was spectacular. Beautiful sitting areas all around the grounds. The first day we had a delicious breakfast with maple ham sharp cheddar cheese with tomato sandwich. Most of the food was locally grown. So close to all the wineries on Cayuga lake. We will be recommending this bed and breakfast to all friends and family and we will 100% be going back!!!! read more
