Services include: 24/7 staffed entrance gate, community water via wells and tanks, maintenance of ditches/culverts/hydrants/roads and facilities, planned recreation activities for all age groups from children to seniors, public safety officers on duty to enforce motor vehicle laws and respond to emergencies, an excellent Volunteer Fire Department and paid County Ambulance service inside the community for very fast response. Amenities include a clubhouse with fitness center, indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, game room, cafe and auditorium. Also two outdoor pools, tennis/handball/pickleball and bocce courts, picnic pavilions, playground, fitness trail, youth center, library, hiking trails, 3 lakes with docks and boat racks and multiple ponds suitable for fishing. The best part of living in Hemlock is the people! It is so easy to get involved in activities and make friends for all ages!

This center has a large livingroom like set up in the front with a bathroom and a couple of off side rooms. The room that we were in had a kitchen as well. The bathroom was stocked with diapers, contact lens solution, feminine products, lotion and more. This is obviously a community center that is resource ready. Clients came and went so easily that it was hard to determine who was a client and who wasn't. It seems very welcoming and inclusive. There was a whiteboard calendar that gave notice of all of the social service and educational classes available. I saw everything from EDL, homework help, knitting and more! A great place if you live in the area!

My family has visited the Country Ark Farm a couple of times over the past 2 years when they opened…read morethe entire farm to the public for "Open Farm Days". These were fantastic opportunities to interact with all of their animals, have a picnic, and basically enjoy the day with my children. So, not surprisingly, my daughter volunteered to help at some of their events (the farm is used to help those with developmental disabilities) and ultimately decided to have her 14th Birthday Party there on 8/2/15. This was, in my daughter's words, the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! First, they have over 100 animals there ranging from camels to baby porcupines to monkeys. I don't know if it's because of their summer camp or the constant attention but the animals were all super sweet with the children. The kids fed them, picked them up, and I even fed a cracker to a camel with my mouth and got a kiss (highly recommend that). All this activity occurred around a central covered patio where the food and cake was served. They had storage for my party supplies, a fridge for the cake, and even supplied extra plates and extension cords that I had forgotten. But the absolutely best part our party at Country Ark Farm was the family that runs it. The owners themselves basically gave us free rein of the farm and provided two extremely sweet and knowledgeable young women to run the party, take care of our every need, and take us on a tour of the farm. These 2 ladies were incredible. They kept the party moving and anytime there was a lull, such as when some kids were done eating but others were still going at it, they would pull out some activity (face painting, bracelet making, water balloon fight) to keep the kids occupied. This was literally a stress free party. I would like to especially thank Rebecca for making the day such a success. She demonstrated both poise and grace in the face of over 20 kids, a family that came 45 minutes early, and an uninvited german shepherd one guest brought. You're the best!!!

I was also disgusted when a man put his hands down his swim shorts in front of me! I cursed at him but I think staff have to watch for this kind of thing, especially around keeping children safe. Other than that, the pool is clean and the sauna is a very cool feature. The staff and even most of the people are genuinely nice, which can really make your day.

It's a great place to bring your kids and give them some incite on nature. You can go by during business hours to take a walk, watch some birds, learn about nature, take some pictures or have a picnic. There is a book store and a gift shop on this beautiful property.
