The large gift shop had a lot to choose from at different prices. We came for the Wine Down event happening right in front of the Delray Affair in April. Wine, beer & soft drinks were available for purchase & I got to unwind & explore the exhibits. The WineDown will be open Friday & Saturday from 12-6 PM and Sunday from 12-5 PM. Proceeds benefit the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce & the Cornell Museum.

Last week, everything came together and we were finally able to stop by the museum after a nearby lunch. The museum is located on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Swinton. We've passed by many time going east on the avenue. There is metered parking on the side streets. The museum is in the hundred year old plus Delray School House. We entered and were greeted by the docent/volunteer. She told us a little about the building's history and which classrooms were originally located where before the remodeling was done. She also told us that they have no permanent exhibits, and that all the art work in the building was for sale. If you were interested in buying something, you should inquire about the price of the piece in the museum store. The first floor was occupied with works by the American artist, Dorothy Gillespie. Although she was a painter, she also worked in many different media. She was well known for her creative, colorful metal works of art. One quote compares her level of metal craft and skill as equal to Chihuly and his glassworks. On the second floor -- yes, there is a big staircase, but we took the elevator from inside the gift shop/store -- are works by Chilean-born Gustavo Novoa. Approximately 30 paintings show colorful, luxurious jungle scenes with animals. The volunteer said his art reminded her of the lushness of Gauguin's paintings. On second floor, there is also an exhibit of mosaics from a Mexican school. They are portraits of famous people -- actors, singers, etc. You will recognize most of them. The tiny pieces are put together in intricate patterns to form the faces. In some of them, they incorporate other materials -- like a piece of jewelry as a broach, leather as clothing, etc. They are fascinating to view up close first and then step back to see the overall portrait. The exhibits rotate periodically. The museum entrance is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person which we happily paid. I'm glad we finally got a chance to visit.

The library has decals on it that it is sponsored by the GFWC, which I believe could be the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Only three books inside the library. One had no cover and one had a torn cover. I would have added some but I'm a few weeks into this road trip and I've already donated all the books I brought with me. Or better yet, if you would rather not return your books or forget to and get fined for it, a little free library is perfect for you!! Little free libraries are small boxes of books set up in communities to promote reading and sharing. It's based on the take a book leave a book concept, but nobody is keeping tab, so feel free to clear out your bookshelves at home, or take a few books without leaving any (though I won't recommend clearing a LFL out...) This LFL is located in front of the big library. It's well maintained, and tend to have more children books than others. Lake Worth has plenty of LFL in the city and it's fun discovering them as I explore the city.

For my trip to West Palm Beach, I reached out to a couple of spots and The Studio 1016 was quick to respond and super easy to work with. I reserved a private office for two of us one day which cost $50. We were able to use their printer and scanner, coffee machine, and even free soda/La Croix from the cooler. The space felt quiet overall, but you're able to talk freely. Some nice light music was playing in the background which I didn't mind. The location is about a block away from Grand Public Market which is a score for lunch, snacks, or more coffee. There's a parking lot, as well as street parking. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking The Studio out if you're in need of a space!

A donation can be made online when signing up for your ticket. Cash or tap to pay donations can be made during your visit. During our visit today they had 20 turtles being rehabilitated. Each turtle has a display with their name and story. A small cafe is located on the upper level. Plenty of seating options on the back side of the Center. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center does great things and is a must see visit.

The staff is always so nice and greet you when you walk in and the admission is FREE unless you'd like to make a donation which is greatly appreciated and helps the local turtles and sea life. Kids will have a great time! They even have a children's play area on the upper deck. Very interactive! The outside area is shaded with canopy's and has many tanks filled with turtles, sharks, fish, and stingrays. It's amazing to see and get up close with the beautiful creatures God has created. They have guided tours and there are many volunteers near the tanks to answer all your questions. Very nice, dedicated crew. My favorite is the gift shop. It has a bit of everything you could want and makes a perfect place to get gifts and souvenirs for your family, friends, and yourself. I got a beautiful necklace, a beautiful collar and leash for my puppy back home, and a postcard for my friend. Everything is priced really fairly and it is a donation to help the turtles at the marine life center. I would recommend getting there early or when they open. Parking is HORRENDOUS. It always is usually especially with spring break. You might be waiting awhile for a parking spot. If you see someone starting to leave or backing out wait behind them and give them room to back out and then pull in to their spot. Parking is the only thing that's stressful but you can eventually get a spot. This is a must visit place for the whole family. I love Loggerhead!

From the library, there is a view of the beach and the grassy areas and it's a great spot to literally pick up your beach reading. I'm not sure if this is the same library as charter 28366 since that one has a sloped rood and this one has a peaked roof. Both have hand-drawn paintings, but they look different. As such, I'm thinking they are different. The library is blue with a yellow roof. A single door secured with an eye hook. Inside, a single shelf with a few books. These aren't "borrow" books like they are at the regular library - these are FREE. Perfect for beach reading! The library box is located at the south end of the boardwalk of Oceanfront Park. The box is white and beige and has a single door. Mostly soft covers and some thin books today. A wide variety including the one that based the movie The Help and a Dean Koontz.
