We had a great time at Lakehead RV park. The campgrounds are clean and has just about everything you need. We had a large party of about 45 people. We we all able to book our campsites near each other. For the lazy people like me, we ended up renting a cabin and a RV. They offer (1) RV, (1) Cabin and a few full sized ready tents for rental. All options were very reasonable. It was a great alternative from bringing your own camping equipment and set up. The RV and Cabin had all the essentials, cable, flat screen TV's, microwave, AC hot water, bbq, wifi, etc. The campgrounds itself is a short 10 minute drive to the lake. They offered a decent swimming pool, ping-pong, basketball, etc. No need to bring your game equipment, they have vollyballs, basketballs, etc. free of charge. Walking distance to nearby trails for hiking and plenty of area to ride your bikes around the campgrounds. It was super safe and the staff is super friendly. If you forgot anything, there is a market nearby which is less than one mile away.

Recently got back from a camping trip here. It's a little older but the sites are big and very shady. There's basketball courts, ping pong, pool, and horse shoes to use. There's a pool up front when you pull in. Showers, bathroom, portapotties and sinks to use. Cecil up in the office was wonderful to work with! We will definitely be back. Hopefully with a trailer next time! Would definitely stay here again

Beware beware beware!!! This has to be the most disgusting campground I have ever stayed at in my life. Tweakers living here permanently. I should have known when I arrived and the worker took five minutes to come out of his house to come open the store he wreaked of booze and approached me with a cigarette in his mouth. the store was all dusty and there were very few items on the shelves available for purchase in the shelves that were really dusty. I asked him if it was his off season and he said yeah. We paid for one night and he assigned us a space with full hookups. As we drove thru the park we passed camp after camp of permanent campgrounds with run down tweaker trailers and junk spread out everywhere. The spot he assigned us was more towards the back, I'm guessing that it was the best to offer. But the spot had trash about and abandoned bags of dogshit and old rotten food. No trash receptacles to be found anywhere so I had to move it to another site. The fire pits are concrete planters not designed for fires and they have obviously already blown up from the fire heat. The bathrooms were the worst of it all. Absolutely positively disgusting. Not cleaned in ages, grime and filth everywhere. The showers stunk of moldy mildew grime on the walls. No soap, no towels and evidence of dried puke in one of the sinks. We got here around 3:30pm and decided it was too late to relocate anywhere else so we stayed anyways. Atleast we have a bathroom in our trailer. I wish we would have turned right and went to antlers campground instead of this place. Not good for anyone but homeless tweaks!!! I wouldn't let my kids out around here or my pets. People have their dogs running around loose and they come and piss all over your stuff. Yay! This park needs to be shut down by the health department. It's too bad it looks like at one time it was a nice park.

    Many seasons of Black Widows.

Would only recommend if your in a bind. Serious potential but the owners need help. Sites well positioned but very littered. No proactive attention to black widows which, owner admitted, nest in the electrical units. Make sure you have a rake. They do not remove webs and small rubbish. Filthy bathroom. Scummy. More than one season of filth on those floors and showers. No bench to sit or place bags. Pets allowed but no pet area as observed by owners who did not pick up after pets. Pool was murky and had not been hosed down in a long time. Very dusty. Park rules not observed or enforced, I,e, no diapers in pool pets on leash. Friendly people, nice recycle and garbage. On site tents were lovely.

    Oh-No...... I burnt my marshmallow. :( :(

First thing you see is the Green pool. Very dusty campground. Pretty run down. We packed up and stayed in a room in Weed, California.

I've been coming to Antlers Resort & Marina since I was a kid (I'm 40 now). It had been probably 25…read moreyears since I had last been there. My family always got the same site (A-51) so for nostalgia I had to book that site as well. I could have sworn when I was a kid there were wooden bear boxes, but they no longer exist (odd because I remember seeing a bear as a kid, and the grounds crew guy also mentioned bears coming through the camp ground) but that was no problem for us since we have a truck camper and keep all items locked inside. Our fire pit was a little run down, it was an old square brick type, and the bricks were crumbling off.. a little bit of mortar and a few replacement bricks and it would be perfect though. The pool area was just as I remembered from being a kid. The snack bar was great (yay for huge ice creams). The bathroom on the tent side of the grounds could definitely use some attention, one stall door has issues closing, the shower leaks into the toilet area during high usage, and one of the toilet paper dispensers won't remain secured on the wall. We had a good over all experience. The kids (6&9) loved playing in the pool and at the playground all day. We definitely plan to come back. Hopefully a few maintenance fixes for the bathroom areas happen, but all in all it was awesome to relive some of my childhood with my own kids.

Fire pits were good too. The tent sites were SPACIOUS too I mean for my party of 6, we had 3 large tents with space & 2 trucks parked out of the way. Our site even had 2 benches. The shade provided by the trees was great, because as hot as it was, when we were present at our site we enjoyed relaxing underneath the shade. Front office staff were all very nice Saydra, Ricky & Whitney. All friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. There's also a campground store & grill. Grill food was fresh & bomb. Store part was great they carried a variety of things; ice, sunblock, water toys, camp lights, wagon, & so much more. They even have cute souvenir clothing, shirts, tanks, long sleeves, sweaters, hoodies, sun hats, sunglasses. The deck has great benches with umbrellas for shade with a great view of the lake. There's corn hole just have to ask for the bean bags. Mondays there's bingo. There's a pool 5ft. deep you have to leave a $20 deposit for the key at the front desk. Wood is cheaper here than at the Chevron. Campgrounds FAVE was the frosty (ice cream) Every morning when I went to use the bathroom, I witnessed staff cleaning the restrooms. So HUGE thank you to them for that. They even empty the trash bins throughout the day, through out the day you can catch someone on the golf cart roaming the campgrounds to make sure everything & everyone is good. There was always hot water, & cold water when needed. In the middle of the campgrounds there's a FUN playground with swings for the kids. There's even a basketball court & volleyball court too. This campgrounds is located in a great area too. Walking distance to the Antlers Marina(dock), short drive to a bunch of great swimming spots. A bit pricier than a few spots that we've stayed at but this campgrounds is WORTH IT! Definitely going to return, alsooooo upon checking out when I was at the office to double check if I needed to do anything else there was a long line in front of me of campers planning on returning too, booking their dates for 2024!!

We frequent Shasta Lake and the Lakehead area, so we're familiar with the region and understand that many businesses are heavily dependent on the seasonal tourism industry. We chose Lakeshore Resort because of the amenities advertised on their website, including the pool, bar, restaurant, store, upgraded cabins, proximity to the lake and boat launch, and the option to rent an RV space next to our cabin to keep our boat. This setup was highly recommended and seemed perfect for our anniversary getaway. When we arrived on Thursday, the managers had everything ready for us and were very pleasant and welcoming. Before I continue, I want to say that my husband and I are not overly picky travelers. We don't expect luxury accommodations. However, when we entered Cabin #10, it was nothing like the photos shown online. We had paid for one of the upgraded cabins and were shocked by its condition. The cabin was extremely dated and in significant disrepair. The ceiling was falling down and had a hole in it that appeared to be plugged with toilet paper. The floors were uneven throughout, with multiple flooring types connected by jagged transitions and no transition strips. The ceiling fan wobbled so severely that it looked as though it might fall. The pantry and stove shown in the online photos were not present. The walls and ceilings had patches of mismatched white paint throughout. The shower did not drain properly because the floor sloped away from the drain, and the water temperature fluctuated between scalding hot and ice cold. Most of the electrical outlets were unusable because they had been painted over. The bed sagged in the middle, and the breakfast bar felt unstable, as though it could collapse if leaned on. At that point, all we could do was laugh and decide to go to the restaurant while we figured out what we wanted to do. On the way there, we noticed signs posted on the pool fence stating that the pool was closed for repairs. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess immediately informed us that the grill was down and only cold food items were available. We were happy to see our favorite bartender, Royce from Basshole, behind the bar, which ended up being the highlight of our trip. We enjoyed some cocktails and cold food, which was actually excellent. After dinner, we spoke with the manager and explained our concerns regarding the closed pool, the restaurant limitations, and the condition of the cabin. She was very apologetic and accommodating. She mentioned that she had not been aware the grill was down. We understand that these issues were largely beyond the control of the on-site management and appeared to be the result of decisions made by the new ownership. She immediately refunded the RV space we had rented for our boat. We decided to give the resort another chance and stay one night. We were told the grill would likely be operational the following day and that the pool might be repaired. With temperatures forecast to reach 102 degrees, both amenities were important factors in our decision to stay. Unfortunately, we got very little sleep. The ceiling fan wobbled and rattled throughout the night, and the wall-mounted air conditioner was extremely loud and had a musty odor. The cabin wasn't necessarily dirty--it was simply very old, stale, and poorly maintained. The overall condition made us uncomfortable. The next morning, we packed our belongings, returned to the office, checked out early, and requested a refund. Once again, the management team was professional, understanding, and accommodating, and they refunded our stay without issue. I want to emphasize that the managers handled the situation as well as they possibly could. Our disappointment lies with the condition of the property and the apparent lack of investment by the new ownership. We work hard for our money and simply could not justify spending approximately $200 per night for accommodations in that condition, especially for a special occasion like our 24th wedding anniversary. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend staying at Lakeshore Resort in its current state. Until significant improvements are made to the cabins and advertised amenities are restored and operational, prospective guests should carefully consider whether the resort offers the value they expect for the price. Just to be clear, we were not refunded for our entire stay. We were charged for one night in a run-down, dilapidated cabin that looked nothing like what was depicted on the website. Your statement that we were "fully refunded" is simply not accurate. Additionally, we were never given a discounted rate, despite your claim that we received one. We paid the full advertised price when we booked our stay.
