My wife and our two young sons stayed at Lakeview Terrace Resort a couple weeks ago. Definitely glad we did, it was everything we were hoping for and more. We only stayed for two nights but in the short visit we squeezed in kayaks on the lake, floating down the river, fishing and a short hike. The scenery if absolutely beautiful and the cabin was clean and had all the amenities a family could need...which is nice for anyone wanting the "outdoor experience" without actually sleeping in a hotel tent/outdoors:) We took two trips this summer, one to Hawai'i and second here. We took our RV trailer to Lakeview Terrace Resort last weekend and were pleasantly impressed with the whole experience. Ryan was super helpful and charismatic! We were silly and left our hatch open on our vehicle which made it die and he rushed to help us get it started as soon as I reached out. RECOMMENDATION: Stay away from this campground! Hazardous. We booked a 9 day stay with our RV for the Trinity Lake area. When beginning to hook to the water and sewer lines, the water ran brown and the sewer water was about 6"-8" from the opening. We immediately reported this to staff and the owner. The owner, Ryan, immediate became hostile toward me when I reported the conditions to him. We informed him that we were leaving due to the conditions, and wanted a refund of the balance. During our discussions, he gave me the middle finger several times, got hostile, and engaged in foul name-calling (a##hole). He initially refused to refund our money until I mentioned I would report him to the State of California for contaminated water and a hazardous sewer connection that could back up into our RV. He refused to listen to me but yelled at me with expletives and hostility while I remained calm. He left and returned with his cell phone and took pictures of our RV without our permission. After informing him I would file a report with the State of California, he sneered at me but 10-15 minutes later gave an apology and said the problem was all his, and he would provide a refund for the unused balance. That apology did not last. When I went with him to his office and watched him issue a computer refund, he informed me that he placed a red alert against me but never explained the extent of it. I did not trust that the information would go to external sources. Stay away from this place. It has hazardous conditions, and the owner is hostile. read more

BIG SHOUT OUT TO LAKEVIEW TERRACE RESORT!    So much beauty here. We saw sunrises/sunsets, deer families roaming the resort, fish jumping out of the water, water lilies, dragonflies, eagles, and osprey! I am a semi-pro boondocker that works in the tech/automotive industry. When my generator quit, I had to find a place with full hookup while it was in the repair shop. We were lucky enough to find Lakeview Terrace Resort on Lewiston Lake. We booked for 1 week and due to repair delays we ended staying for 3. In this 3-week period, the locals became extended family. Ryan and Redbud, manage the bookings and Dogwood helped us to our spot. They gave us a warm welcome and advised us on all the local hotspots. The Lewiston Hotel is a must on Taco Tuesday, the J&J's Smokin' BBQ has a killer Rueben sandwich, One Maple Winery has a tasty cab, and Lewiston Honey has a mean Blackberry Honey. Monty is the inhouse grounds keeper and if he decides he likes you, a local fishing guide. Monty takes you 'catching' not fishing! He is an outstanding human being. WE WILL BE BACK! read more

if you are looking for quiet, this is the place. You won't be bothered by cell phones because there is no (T Mobile) cell reception. You won't be irritated by neighbors' TVs because there is no cable or over the air digital TV reception. the Wi-Fi is only at the office/ store which is several hundred yards from the RV spaces and was never open during our recent stay. also, the pool was dry. if you like quiet, this is the place to be. My husband and I brought our 2 youngest kids - age 8 and 14 - up to Lakeview Terrace for a weekend. My husband wanted to do some fishing and the kids had never stayed in a cabin before and wanted to explore, swim and play games. I was looking forward to some relaxation and peace and quiet away from every day life. We were not disappointed! First, let's talk about the cabin. We were in cabin 14, a 3 bedroom cabin. It was cozy and cute, and while it does need a little updating, it had everything we needed. A fully stocked kitchen with dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, oven mitts, and more. You just need to bring your own food. The cabin had a full refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of clean towels and a nice shower. The cabin had an air conditioner which we used during the day and we opened the windows and night for a cool breeze. A charcoal grill and fire pit were right outside the cabin doors with a picnic table. Everything was clean and ready to use. You can tell that the owners put a lot of time, love, and care into the place. There is no tv or WiFi in the cabin but the kids didn't care because there was so much to do. The grounds are beautiful. There were deer walking around the grounds, beautiful birds and some cool lizards. There is a large swimming pool, and community games like horseshoe, corn hole, etc. if you bring a laptop or your own tv, the office has tons of DVD's you can borrow, and also a large selection of board games. There is a large fire pit near the pool and the first night we stayed there, the owners started a camp fire and invited guests to join and eat s'mores, sing songs and play guitar. It was a blast. Plus, they have a tree fort! A fort built into the giant old trees on the property. It's lit up at night and the kids loved going up there. The marina is only a 5 minute drive away and we rented a patio boat from the lovely woman who runs the marina and took it out on the lake to check out the nearby dam. We saw fish jumping, geese and ducks, and all sorts of beautiful nature around us. We will definitely be coming back to stay here again and recommend it to anyone! read more

This park is in need of immediate TLC, so much potential! Located parallel to the beautiful Lewiston Lake, a short walk across the road. The video for this resort is very deceiving. We stayed in the RV park, the sites were clean and maintained, but the entire RV park is surrounded by permanent campers and mobile homes, with all of their life essentials under pop-up and lots of tarps (which obstruct your view of the lake). Some sites had picnic tables, others didn't. The campsites at the west side of the campground are located near a dumpster and the grounds keeper quarters, which also entail a sufficient amount of junk. The gentlemen on the 4 wheelers start in quite early, driving in circles, burning out with abrupt stops for no reason other then to show off and kick up dust. Sites are small, so if you're not parked the way the owner likes, you must park your car at the parking section, which is a walk for many site and very inconvenient. The bathroom stall doors (too high) and toilet seats (too low) did not align, leaving lots to be discovered. The front lawn that most activities are located on is dry and dead, use of the walkie talkie at the front office because no one wants to man the office during normal business hours is frustrating, items purchased at the store have a drop box you must drop off exact cash into. Unclear on the status of the cabins. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

What an awesome campground with great nearby hiking. Jordan was awesome and showed us a nearby trail. We were able to pull a 42 fifth wheel in and out. Definitely narrow, but doable. I would like to apologize to Jordan, we were so focused on getting the fifth wheel out and not hitting trees we left a bag of trash near our picnic table. Sorry! They have a very nice office/store with a good beer and wine selection. They always have a great dvd selection of videos you can borrow! read more

Where shall I start with Lakeview terrace resort...the beautiful sparkling water of Lewiston lake? Which is literally across the street from Lakeview terrace resort or the cozy fully stocked cabins? With all the comforts of home or maybe the amazing staff that takes care of its guests...Dee and Roberta (the caretakers) are so sweet and take care of your every need. I'm in love with this resort. Every time I come here the first thing I want to do is fish fish fish! This lake literally has rainbow trout jumping out of the water all around you, last October I was here and was fishing at around 8 am, me and my bf caught 23 fish and kept 10 of them for ourselves (only 5 fish per person is allowed). The views are out of world and by that I mean the night sky. When the moon sets you can see the milky way and millions of stars in the sky. I could just sit outside and star gaze all night. This resort is growing every year, the owner is trying his best to make this place unique and fun for everyone. He just recently put in three brand new cabins fully stocked and a whopping of a tree house. There are kayaks for rent that you can take out onto the lake and rafts for river rafting, you can even take out a paddle boat on the lake which I did and yes I fished off that paddle boat where the local bald eagle (bandit) stole my fish!!! Never have i ever seen a bald eagle so close up in the wild in my life. Lewiston lake is a fishing lake but if you want to go jet skiing or speed boating trinity lake is just a mere 10 miles away from the resort. Lakeview doesn't have cell phone service or WiFi and that really connects you to nature no pun intended. But do you really want to get away on vacation with your phone or laptop??? I've been coming up here since 2010 and just spent my 24th birthday at Lakeview terrace, my bf and I went hiking, fishing, swimming in the pool (since the lake is very cold), and star gazing and had a blast. Oh and did I mention each cabin gets its very own coal grill and that you can have a bon fire by the pool....it's awesome we grilled and connected with nature. Can't wait for the next time I can get off and come back up here. P.S. I posted a bunch of pictures on here because a picture is worth a thousand words. My wife, Amy, and I spent the past two weeks at Lakeview Terrace Resort. Bottom line: we loved it. We found the spot last March 2013 and spent a week there. Couldn't wait to get back. We had originally planned to spend 4 days there but ended up extending it to 7. We planned to spend a few days at Burney and Grey Eagle and headed up to McCloud (great town, area btw). But after a day we realized we missed Lakeview Terrace and Lewiston Lake as well as the surrounding area and returned for another week. Here's why: 1. Beautiful lake, lots of fish, wildlife 2. Wonderful RV park - clean park, friendly caretakers (Dee and Roberta) will bend over backwards to make your stay memorable, clean pool, many wild but friendly deer. 3. Peace, peace, peace 4. Great price at roughly $30/night full hookups (no wifi, cable which suited us just fine) Amy and I just reserved the same spot for two weeks same time next year. Interestingly enough we sold our mountain condo a few years back to make sure we got out and experienced more places. Now we're fearing we will end up spending more and more of our precious time at Lakeview Terrace since we love it so much. Oh well. read more

Had a great stay here a couple of months ago. The resort is clean, cabins are very well maintained, and the staff is super friendly. The resort is situated 30' from the lake and they have kayaks on site. Alternatively, the local marina is only a couple of minutes away and you can rent a boat or a pontoon there. The lake itself is really clean and mostly shallow - deepest pockets are only about 20-30' deep and most of the lake is only 8-10'. If you like fishing, there are a lot of large trouts in the lake and you can see them surfacing throughout the day. Definitely coming back! read more

GREAT AIR BNB FIND! I stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend and Ryan was an AWESOME host! And a great guy all around! The cabin was exceptionally clean and stocked with cooking utensils and pots! Full kitchen with gas stove and a sleeping loft upstairs! the property is very well maintained and perfect for a weekend get away! The river entrance is directly across the street and you can rent a paddle boat or kayak from Ryan! I didn't have a truck lol so Ryan's friend helped me get it to this river! This is a great place for family time and a romantic get away! the water is absolutely beautiful at night and so still! Perfect for a hot day! We came during a bit of random rain fall and we caught this amazing sunset down the road on this wooden dock, the fog hit the still water so perfectly and the moon was shining just perfectly! Just went back for the first time since the new owners and couldn't be more excited to return again next year! Ryan and his team quickly tended to everything that needed to be upgraded while still keeping the original charm of the resort. The place is indeed a hidden gem and all of us had tons of fun. The cabins seemed old but were cozy and clean. The place is quiet and perhaps because it was during the winter season? rarely even saw cars go by on the main road, which is exactly what i was looking for on a weekend get away. Lots of wildlife around the property. deers will come over to you and feed off of your hands. There are A LOT of stocked rainbows in the lake, i know because they were jumping 10 ft in front of me. But for some reason none of them wanted my 3 year old power bait. The property manager Dee is super awesome. We arrived late around mid night due to traffic on 680 and he waited up for us and showed us around the property first thing in the morning. Took good care of us the entire time we were there. The place has no wifi or cell signal. you have to be on the lake (which is right across the street from the resort) to get cell signal. To me it is a plus-i didn't drive 4 hours to check emails. This place has such a great summer sleep away camp vibe. We came here for my son's 16th birthday so he could spend the day fishing and all the kids had a blast! The cabin was plenty roomy for all 6 of us, and even the dogs. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Great fishing in walking distance, full kitchens, a BBQ and a fire ring outside. We will definitely be back for a longer stay! The only downside is no groceries without a long trip. read more

We spent 3 days on July 4th weekend at the Lewiston Lake Resort with friends. The pool and staff were great. The staff folks were friendly, welcoming and available 24 hours a day. I really liked Dee and Craig of the staff they were quite helpful and willing to stop their errands and help us anytime. Great warmed swimming pool lots of friendly guests. Rafting 12 minutes away on the Trinity river. Lots of trout fishing in the lake just across the lakefront road. They have a decent selection of boats to rent. It is a great little place with very friendly staff and peaceful scenery. The cabins were clean and furnished with clean utensils, sheets and towels. The trails on lake shore is what I like the most! Truly enjoyed it! There is no cell phone signal, no TV, and no wifi, which was totally fine with me (thought I couldn't live without them for more than 24 hours..). Would I still go if I read all these negative reviews before I made the trip? Hell yeah! I met the resort manager Dee at the Sportsman Expo in early January. He described the place to us in detail, and when we got there, the place was exactly how he described it - a true getaway. Without cellphone signals, WIFI or TV, we were able to enjoy the nature without any interference. The lake surface was like a mirror, reflective from a distance yet literally see through when you get close. Big fat trout were jumping out of the water here and there. We parked the pontoon boat at the middle of the lake with engine turned off, and soaked in all the warm sunshines we wanted. It was the relaxation I had never experienced anywhere else, except when those Canadian goose flew by--damn they were loud. There are hiking trails all over the valley, with abandoned gold mines, caves and machinery from the goad rash era. The nights were even more amazing. I don't remember when was the last time I could see that many stars on the sky, the milky way was hanging right in front my face, truly breath taking! Did I mention the black-tail deers? They were like pets to Dee. He even named each one of them. If I had a couple more corns left from the bonfire from the night before, I could of lureed Margret into my van before leaving! The cabins are comfy with full kitchens including basic coffee pot etc. Bedding is included but the first time I was there we woke up and because there are no clocks we didn't know if it was almost morning or not. When I took my nieces with me the next time I took a small TV. They loved seeing deer roaming through and the pool was a hit. We rented a little boat with a motor and went fishing. We cooked the 5 trout we caught in Lewiston Lake on the provided BBQ. We brought food with us and it worked out great. read more

They're still improving, but what some fail to not understand is that it takes time & money to make changes. We stay here twice a year for three nights per trip with 25 guys and since the new owner (Ryan) took over it has been ideal. Owner was aggressive and threatening. The "cabin" I stayed in was advertised as a 2 bedroom but the 2nd bedroom is actually a loft with a 5 foot ceiling, so watch your head. There is no wifi or cell service. There are perminant residents right next to the rental cabins. Overall the place is way too expensive for the quality of stay you are offered. There are much nicer resorts. And I don't think a tiny house can be effectively called a cabin. read more

We had a great experience with Trinity Lake and Trinity River. The Lake offers water sports and great recreational activities. The River has excellent fishing potential. I have been going to LVTR since the original owners (Herb and Virginia) founded the place in the early 1960's. They sold the place in the summer of 2010 and it has gone down hill since. If you are a new visitor you might not know just how much it has lost its charm AND UP KEEP. The new owner is a Realestate Broker from FREMONT, CA (from the same place as the previous review is from? - Funny, don't ya think)? This place used to be real nice. Family friendly. It has gone down hill and this year it terrible. We rented cabins like we do every year in May and the pool wasn't even open. IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE WATER IN IT. Since the 1970's this pool has always been operational. My grandchildren we VERY DISAPPOINTED. The TWO horses are kept in a 20x20 barren corral - to me, inhumane. If you are new to this resort, you will possibly like it. If you are an old visitor, it will probably be the last year you want to visit. No TV, NO WiFi, No one available after 5pm - there are only TWO people who run the resort and they only work until 5pm - so if something breaks or you need help there is no one available. Plus they NEVER answer the phone. MY REVIEW - the place is not the same, atmosphere, upkeep and general all around loss of everything that made it nice. Too bad because I will miss it and so will my grandchildren. FYI: - the website IS fraudulent : all of the photos are not of the resort - the photos are of some random place that doesn't exist in Trinity County. Here is my previous review that was deleted: This place USED TO BE wonderful until the owners of 40+ years sold the park to a real estate investor from the San Francisco Bay Area in the summer of 2010. The resort has cabins, RV park, laundry, showers, swimming pool, fish cleaning station and a place to launch your boat into Lewiston Lake. It used to be beautifully maintained BUT NOT ANYMORE. It started to go downhill the summer of 2011 and now it is a complete disaster in 2012. The park is not being maintained at all. If you are a regular every summer - make sure you call a head of your reservation time to see if the place is up to par. Ask questions. The water works intermittently, the bathrooms are at about 75%. The laundry work at 50% capacity. The pool is out of commission until further notice. Simply, IT IS A DISASTER. - The new owner does not care about his customers. I spoke to the managers (there are only two of them to run the whole place) - and they do as much as they can with what resources they have - which is minimal. Unless something changes drastically I will never visit there again. People visit here because it is a great family place for fishing in the lake and swimming in the pool. While fishing is always available because you have to go to the lake - swimming in the pool this year is not. I recommend you call a head of time and ask a lot of questions. I am done with the place and it makes me sad to see such a wonderful, private, family oriented resort turn into a dump. The state parks are better maintained. My other half and I spent a great couple of days at one their cabins. We felt like Alice in Wonderland in the low ceiling loft, but we had fun nonetheless. Cody handled our reservation and made sure that we were all well cared for. The owner was visiting the property and stopped by to make sure that we had found everything to our liking. The cabin was comfortable. The view of the lake was beautiful. We had a great time at the pool, listening to music, grilling by the deck, and relaxing. I agree with the reviewer who claims his review was changed. Nothing on the web site bears any resemblance to this wreck of a resort. We entered into negotiations to manage this dump based on misrepresentations made by the owner and the information and pictures on the web site. We travelled a great distance to meet this unethical owner and found the place to be the dump others say it is. Now they are trying again to get an Asst Manager using the same misrepresentations. And the only curent review is done by someone with the same last name as the current managers. I don't think that is a coincidence. Beware! read more

We spent 3 day June 28-30th This is not club med. It is out in the boonies. No cell phone service. Basically, everything worked. we paid about $30 a day per person. The place is clean but spartan. The band quit around 9:00 pm. You get what you pay for. read more
