Really quaint little place, man who runs it was very nice. Some people may not like the older decor, but I really thought it was really cool. I liked the wood walls with the faux - burned design, it was pretty. Bath water ran a little rusty, but it's understandable after winter, happens at my house! Water was hot, can't complain lol The bed was warm and comfy and smelled clean. The option to have an organic coffee with organic non-gmo stevia was awesome (although I skipped out...I'm more of a tea person). There was also a TV set, a little older, but we didn't watch it. Mini fridge and microwave was an A+! WiFi was available and fast- and FREE; greatly appreciated! My only complaint was the walls were kinda thin and we could hear out neighbors check in pretty late and pretty loudly. But in hindsight, that's not too big of an issue. We'll come back for sure!

Lake Shasta Motel: We wanted a cozy simple place close to Lake Shasta and while I (thought) the price sounded a bit amazing.......When I called the owner made it sound like there were lots of restaurants and places close by. What a joke. We went for dinner are 7:00 & the closest restaurant (Allysons) was closing early. On a Friday night. We had been on the road from San Jose like 5 hours! So- I will just list "pros/"cons" of this lodge. I was going to give 2 stars, I mean - it was $70.00 on a Friday....but when I told the owner about the stains on the bed sheet - she insisted "But they ARE CLEAN". I really have no words except - to say that is really unsanitary and wonder why in the world they would think that is acceptable. Come on now. Please throw that gross stuff out. Ok: Pros: Cheap, Quiet, Across freeway from Lake Cons: See pictures - As mentioned, 1. stains on sheets, 2. only a thin blanket and super thin ugly acrylic bed spread. 3. No heater in room & we were cold! 4. Weather stripping on door and around door either ripped and/ or non- existent....adding to coldness! 5. Burnt out light bulb in a lamp 6. Refigetator didn't work well 7. They left us little T.P. to use! 8. The esthetics were pretty horrid - but there is a ridiculously goofy "welcome" painted onto one of the walls that does Not have gross (faux paint) wallpaper. 9. The ceiling in bathroom is frightening....looks like a ( work in progress) for sure. 10. And finally- the beloved hot water in the shower - you have to have a clever knowledge of turning the mixing valve- or you get 0 hot water.... Basically - besides the cute gazebo and pool..... This place is a bit of a ' hot mess' Yuck**

Nice little property with a gazebo. We enjoyed the local frog orchestra. Beds were very clean. TV had several channels. Room was cold, concrete block walls and tile floor. Tiny bathroom, nice hot water! No frills but $55 a night is hard to beat. Jeff, the manager/owner was very kind.

We had the lodge decorated, inside and outside to accommodate all our guests. Scott did not hesitate to help us move the furniture, chairs and even got our beer kegs set up. We were able to enjoy the grounds with morning walks, late night talks, a fire pit and the deck with an incredible view. It's truly a weekend the entire family won't forget! Thank you Scott and Julie for the incredible weekend! Your resort is truly beautiful and we can't wait to come back and enjoy it again!

The staff were friendly and the entire check in process was easy. For the price, we got an individual tiny cabin with two bedrooms and a bath. It came with a simple kitchen and an awesome patio overlooking the, unfortunately, near empty lake. The staff informed us that the lake had been drained to help fight recent California wildfires, so that made me feel a little bit better. Anyways, the cabin was clean and everything you would need for a nice relaxing stay. My biggest qualm was that the hot water did not work so we were not able to take a shower (unless it was ice water cold). And the Internet did not work - not for browsing or streaming pleasure but simply for cell phone service in such a remote area. All in all, a decent spot to stay in the Shasta Lake area.

What Went Well: * Booking and Check-In: The resort staff were organized, clear, and responsive. From initial inquiries to payment reminders, everything was handled efficiently. Check-in took just a few minutes, and they helped us transport luggage and spent 30-60 minutes giving us a personal walkthrough of the boat, which we appreciated. * Boat Quality: We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade to a nicer boat. The vessel was well-equipped, featuring a hot tub, water slide, full kitchen (oven, microwave, running water)--everything was in great condition and very enjoyable. * Support and Communication: Throughout the trip, the staff were easily reachable by phone and did wellness check-ins, which made us feel supported. When we had issues, they were quick to advise and assist. * Departure and Return: Staff helped guide us out of the harbor with hand signals and came out to help dock the boat at the end of the trip, which we really appreciated. What Could Be Improved: * Instruction at Check-In: The person assigned to instruct us was clearly more mechanically inclined and admitted it was their first time training guests. The walkthrough was overly technical, hard to absorb, and not well suited for first-timers--especially with 11 people depending on us. We wish we had received the manual in advance, or even better, a simple infographic showing common procedures (e.g., starting the boat, docking, using the generator). * Safety & Docking Design Flaws: A major issue occurred when another group walking across the rocks used our mooring ropes as support, dislodging the stake and causing our boat to drift. The bridge (gangway) detached and fell underwater, and due to its weight (~50-100 lbs), we struggled to lift it back. This wasn't addressed in the manual, and the design--where the bridge is easily detached and only secured by ropes underneath the boat--feels flawed. While staff were helpful over the phone and eventually explained how to fix it free of charge, we were initially told it would cost $150, which was frustrating. This kind of issue could be much harder for smaller groups or families to handle safely. Final Thoughts: Despite a few technical and structural frustrations, Antlers Resort staff showed professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to help throughout the weekend. The boat itself was excellent, and the free upgrade and strong support helped offset the downsides. However, we recommend that they improve onboarding materials and bridge design for a smoother and safer guest experience. We'd still consider returning, but would come better prepared--and would strongly suggest that future guests request the manual early and ask about bridge/docking procedures in advance.

Most of the staff are busy working on winter repairs of the facility, so if you need someone, call first. Noone will ever answer the phone, so just leave a message. They are responsive. I rented PWC SeaDoo's. They were newer and in good condition. Expensive, but worth it. They are not good communicators, but nice friendly people. Expect to take an hour to rent anything, and another hour to return and process paperwork. It's the only game in town, on the north end of the Sacramento arm, of Shasta Lake. Overall, the marina and docks were in good condition. They have gas too.

We frequent Shasta Lake and the Lakehead area, so we're familiar with the region and understand that many businesses are heavily dependent on the seasonal tourism industry. We chose Lakeshore Resort because of the amenities advertised on their website, including the pool, bar, restaurant, store, upgraded cabins, proximity to the lake and boat launch, and the option to rent an RV space next to our cabin to keep our boat. This setup was highly recommended and seemed perfect for our anniversary getaway. When we arrived on Thursday, the managers had everything ready for us and were very pleasant and welcoming. Before I continue, I want to say that my husband and I are not overly picky travelers. We don't expect luxury accommodations. However, when we entered Cabin #10, it was nothing like the photos shown online. We had paid for one of the upgraded cabins and were shocked by its condition. The cabin was extremely dated and in significant disrepair. The ceiling was falling down and had a hole in it that appeared to be plugged with toilet paper. The floors were uneven throughout, with multiple flooring types connected by jagged transitions and no transition strips. The ceiling fan wobbled so severely that it looked as though it might fall. The pantry and stove shown in the online photos were not present. The walls and ceilings had patches of mismatched white paint throughout. The shower did not drain properly because the floor sloped away from the drain, and the water temperature fluctuated between scalding hot and ice cold. Most of the electrical outlets were unusable because they had been painted over. The bed sagged in the middle, and the breakfast bar felt unstable, as though it could collapse if leaned on. At that point, all we could do was laugh and decide to go to the restaurant while we figured out what we wanted to do. On the way there, we noticed signs posted on the pool fence stating that the pool was closed for repairs. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess immediately informed us that the grill was down and only cold food items were available. We were happy to see our favorite bartender, Royce from Basshole, behind the bar, which ended up being the highlight of our trip. We enjoyed some cocktails and cold food, which was actually excellent. After dinner, we spoke with the manager and explained our concerns regarding the closed pool, the restaurant limitations, and the condition of the cabin. She was very apologetic and accommodating. She mentioned that she had not been aware the grill was down. We understand that these issues were largely beyond the control of the on-site management and appeared to be the result of decisions made by the new ownership. She immediately refunded the RV space we had rented for our boat. We decided to give the resort another chance and stay one night. We were told the grill would likely be operational the following day and that the pool might be repaired. With temperatures forecast to reach 102 degrees, both amenities were important factors in our decision to stay. Unfortunately, we got very little sleep. The ceiling fan wobbled and rattled throughout the night, and the wall-mounted air conditioner was extremely loud and had a musty odor. The cabin wasn't necessarily dirty--it was simply very old, stale, and poorly maintained. The overall condition made us uncomfortable. The next morning, we packed our belongings, returned to the office, checked out early, and requested a refund. Once again, the management team was professional, understanding, and accommodating, and they refunded our stay without issue. I want to emphasize that the managers handled the situation as well as they possibly could. Our disappointment lies with the condition of the property and the apparent lack of investment by the new ownership. We work hard for our money and simply could not justify spending approximately $200 per night for accommodations in that condition, especially for a special occasion like our 24th wedding anniversary. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend staying at Lakeshore Resort in its current state. Until significant improvements are made to the cabins and advertised amenities are restored and operational, prospective guests should carefully consider whether the resort offers the value they expect for the price. Just to be clear, we were not refunded for our entire stay. We were charged for one night in a run-down, dilapidated cabin that looked nothing like what was depicted on the website. Your statement that we were "fully refunded" is simply not accurate. Additionally, we were never given a discounted rate, despite your claim that we received one. We paid the full advertised price when we booked our stay.
