It was nice to receive a complimentary mimosa as a mom upon arrival. We ate our fill and then were able to walk the grounds and see some of the areas of the mansion. Very much so appreciate the opportunity and thought this was an excellent way to celebrate Mother's Day.

JuneElise, Loft21's event manager, is EXTREMELY helpful in guiding you along the way to a seamless event...she will answer any question you have, and deliver professional results quickly and efficiently...we did not sense this level of customer support at any other venue we shopped. Her attitude is great and you won't be disappointed. Secondly, the HYPE staff is incredibly entertaining, and our dance floor did not stop until the lights went on...they hit every corner of the music we requested and the MC, Adam, kept the party moving like a Mac truck... it was awesome, and we still get complements to this day. Jazmine, the owner, was quite involved with our planning as well, as she owns both HYPE and Loft21...so if you use both, you enjoy a discount and she was very clear on how the combined package saved us tons of cash. I could go on...so why don't I? The atmosphere is so unique and stimulating... the bars are uber-modern with an industrial feel, the staff is incredibly well trained and friendly, the globo with your event logo shines on the wall, the preferred caterer they recommended was perfect (Marcellos!), the audio video incorporation is super cool, and we wished the night never ended!! Hence why Loft 21 is such a popular option for bar mitzvahs and other big events. If you have a 12/13 year old kid going thru the mitzvah circuit chances are you'll end up here. The venue itself is owned by Jazmine at Hype Productions. I haven't rented out Loft 21, but have hired Hype twice and been thrilled with everyone I"ve worked with over there so I"m guessing this is so exception. Jazmine is very on top of everything, which is perfect for my type A personality. While I highly recommend Hype for event production you can bring in others to the space. The bar mitzvah we attended this past weekend had Tenny from Flo as their MC. The space can easily be transformed and seems to work with any theme. And for those who don't want to go crazy with decor it's a pretty venue on it's own. They have a nice area upstairs for cocktails. People tend to congregate near the bar which can make it crowded so I recommend putting a food station (or extra bar) in the area separated off so that people spread out just a bit. This area also overlooks the ballroom so at the end of the cocktail hour they do a big reveal by showing the room down below, which is cool. The acoustics in the space aren't great and my biggest complaint is that I can't hear anyway near me while I"m there. I can also barely hear any speeches when I'm in the space. However, it works great for music, montages and anything else you need.

The prices ended up being in the upper end of the price range we had. Then the saleswoman we had been working with told us that the prices did not include gratuity or taxes. This put the venue out of our price range.

Btw, you pay an extra 250.00 for the coordinator fee in their contract. There wasn't a person to replace her that day. I was lied to for several hours, saying that Fatima, our coordinator, was on the way. I was given one excuse after another for her absence. The General Manager was out of town on vacation and the owner was out of the country. Who was running the establishment????That information was provided to me by another coordinator who had his own party going on, in the building, upstairs. It was a large party of 100 guests. The person running that event claims he ran both parties. He did not. His name was Payton. We were on our own with one full time waitress and another that popped in and out. She, the other server, was also helping with the party upstairs and that explained her disappearance. They were short staffed and tried to get through both events. My party ended up suffering in every sense of the word. Our lunch was late in being brought out. Almost a full hour, late. Our soup was cold and sparse. Our salads were wilted. Our main dish was filet medallions and not only was the meat cold, there were no steak knives provided. The veggies were burnt as if reheated and potatoes cold. Our server was so overwhelmed serving 41 guests, basically by herself, she was unable to EVER, offer drinks to my guests. Most, were only served water and refills weren't available. I had paid for 2 different varieties of punch. This was also very late in coming out. I basically served several guests, the punch, myself. I also paid for coffee, tea, ice tea and soft drinks to be offered. That never happened. I had complained to the front desk 5-7 times. I complained to the waitress several times since there was no one else. Finally, the coordinator, Payton, from the party upstairs showed up, but by that time our meals were thrown in the bus pans, uneaten. What a horrible, expensive waste!!!! We had him take pictures of the bus pans to show his boss. I was given 2 business cards from Payton. His, and the General Manager's. He did acknowledge a problem but advised me to contact the manager. Michelle, the General Manager had me wait 2 full days to meet with her. She is not only rude and arrogant, but never offered an apology. She actually claimed no responsibility for the failed event and had an answer for everything, well rehearsed, I might add. That in itself, told me she had, had this similar problem with many other disappointed customers. She was very calculated in her defense and reacted with total disregard. After reading reviews on Yelp, I found that either you love the place or don't!! There is no consistency. I failed to check Yelp before signing the contract that they did not fulfill. I did fulfill my end by paying in full, 10 days before the event. Cash!! They don't take credit cards because of a chance you might dispute it. Isn't that INTERESTING???? Beware also, of their contract because it adds an enormous gratuity that the waitress never sees!!!! I was told by the server she only gets a hourly wage and THE HOUSE, keeps the entire gratuity. Mine was over $800.00. That is sickening because the only person working for me that day was the waitress. Do not be fooled as I was. This woman, Michelle is a greedy human being who lacks integrity and grace. She will lie right to your face and DID, then escort you out of her building. Please don't let my experience happen to you. It was an extremely expensive day that was basically ruined.
