Initially, we were…read moreimpressed with the responsiveness of the venue, as we were planning this wedding while living abroad and would fly back two weeks prior to our wedding to officially tie the knot/move back to the US. This venue seemed like the best option, as they would take care of the decorations/food, everything. The full package. However, it seemed like as soon as paid the initial deposit, all responsiveness went out the window. Because I had an international phone number and couldn't call, we had to rely on email, which apparently they just never checked or never thought to look in junk (saying this after they told us multiple times that it went to 'spam'). Instead, more than once we had to trouble my husband's parents to travel two hours to go up and talk to them. We had family members calling them all the way from WA asking them to respond to our emails. Extremely disappointing for the price we ended up paying. Now, cut to the days leading up to the event when my husband and I were in town. Prior to this, we had been speaking with Erica as our coordinator. However, when we went in to check out the venue the day before to set up/make sure everything was in order, it wasn't. Also, Erica was nowhere to be seen. We never ended up meeting her, despite being told that she would be there to oversee the event. We also noticed that the document we filled out with all the wedding details (supposed to fill out at the month-prior meeting, which we struggled to set up in the first place because they never reached out to us) was largely disregarded and aspects were missing from the room, such as the chair covers/sashes (which Monica told us we weren't entitled to despite clearly going over it) and we had a dirty tablecloth on our memorial table. We were disappointed to say the least. NOW to the day of the event. We spent the first few hours of the reception frustrated and angry that the venue was so unprepared. The wine wasn't served with dinner, only shortly after, and the prime rib wasn't ready when all of the other food was being served. One of the waiters looked me and my husband in the eye and kept walking without serving us wine. When it came to the cake cutting, the knife for it wasn't at the table, despite them having a schedule for when the cake cutting would be taking place and asking us if we were ready. So, we stood up there awkwardly waiting while they ran to the kitchen, and then once we cut it, Veronic told my husband's mother that she would have to cut and serve the cake, despite being promised that it would be taken to the kitchen and cut/served. We also told them we would like to save the top of the cake but they said they didn't have a box for it? Crazy. Additionally, prior to the reception starting, Veronica was pestering my husband's mother because the final payment for the venue didn't go through, even though we had made the payment the previous day and they had noted it. Their processing company was having issues, and they had no right to speak about this to my husband's mother. Our finances are our problem and if they had an issue they could wait and speak to me or my husband. Lastly, the processing company would not accept our payment over the next few days. We ended up having to wire the money but then we ended up being charged twice, sending our account to a VERY negative balance. If we had been worse off, this would've been devastating.

Then we worked with Kelsey the rest of the time and on the day of our wedding Sept 30th. Hanni was extremely responsive, professional, and knowledgeable about everything with planning our reception at Circa. Kelsey was super helpful - we live in Colorado and when we arrived for the wedding the week beforehand she let us come to Circa at our convenience to drop off decor (2 different times). She made herself available at all hours of the day to me and provided me her cell number in case of emergencies the week of the wedding/leading up to it. Kelsey and the Circa team set everything up for us and the place looked AMAZING - everything was beautiful! They took our decor and put it all together in a way that was perfect. They followed our timeline perfectly all night and worked with our DJ/photographer to make sure each part of the night went smoothly. Kelsey came up to us throughout the night to see if we needed anything (if we did, she was quick to execute). At the end of the night Kelsey and the team put all our decor back in boxes and packed it up for us, which was EXTREMELY helpful!! They really did not miss the mark anywhere - everything was so so perfect thanks to them! I couldn't say enough good things about Circa, Kelsey, and Hanni. The package deal they offer for weddings is amazing as well. I recommend Circa to anyone getting married - you won't regret it! They make the process so easy and the wedding so beautiful/elegant. ***Side note: we were worried about it being a tight fit since we had ~160 guests but so many people told us this actually was a great part of the reception - being in a smaller space forced everyone to be together and mingle... The upstairs area works great for a lounge/retreat from the main event, as well as serves as a great place to set up a photo booth. The staff is also incredibly helpful. The event I planned for work had an extremely tight budget, but everyone at Circa worked with us to make sure those attending would feel special and impressed. They were also polite, courteous, and informative through several rounds of questions and changes in plans on our end. I am so happy to have an event space like this in Kenosha, particularly one with such fine catering.

Kelly and her family put a TON of work into this farm, and it absolutely paid off. They are excellent hosts, very helpful, and very accommodating. They lent an extra hand to help us out on our big day to make sure everything went off without a hitch. My wife and her bridesmaids had access to a rustic bridal suite; a converted corn crib (I think that's what it's called). It had a lot of little touches to it that really made my wife and her party feel relaxed: chairs and mirrors for hair and make-up prep, an elaborate couch, tables, a changing room with curtains, and a small storage room with a refrigerator/freezer. We had our wedding service on the lawn outside overlooking the prairie bordering Bluestem. The backdrop was great; scenic and picturesque. Chairs for our 106 guests were arranged in a fan layout. The sun sets across the prairie, so you can get some pretty awesome photos in that area. After the service, cocktail hour! The first floor of the barn is a wide open floor plan with several wood barrels serving as table tops for guests. The bar served our guests one after another, keeping up with a great pace in an awesome space. The walls and ceiling are all rustic. The floor is concrete made to look like wooden panels -- and it does! Our dinner reception was upstairs in the loft, a wonderful, enormous vaulted ceiling adorned with large barn windows, strung lights, and a couple of elaborate chandeliers. We had 11 guest tables and a small "sweetheart" table for my wife and I. There was plenty of space for our dinner buffet (tacos!), our DJ, and room for guests to mingle. The windows flanking the hall provided a very pleasant breeze through the loft. As the night went on, a number of guests made their way to the patio and fire pit, flanked by the barn and a silo. There was plenty of seating. We brought up some lawn games, as the space between the main barn and another building was large enough for at least two sets of Bags. We had a few toasts on the patio to wrap up the night. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Many of them remarked how unique of an experience it was. That's exactly the kind of wedding we were going for. We truly had a great time at Bluestem and highly recommend it!

Carrie, who was our main contact, was communicative and responsive! We found Loft 329 after needing to change the venue last minute from my original one. From day one of reaching out, Carrie was quick to respond, she managed to fit my mother in for a quick tour and booking was super easy.
