Heat has been turned up and on for the last two weeks, whicb was around the time they had their "bank walk through". The heat is on all day and night full blast. No kind of relief even with the windows open. it's not warm enough for an AC unit to be put in and I wouldn't trust putting one in as I live in the garden unit. I have 2 small children and the fact that they know this, didn't deter them from turning up the heat for no good reason and having it run continuously day and night. there are other children in this building. i have not been to sleep since last night. the heat is unbearable. someone needs to handle this immediately before I contact the city about this. read more

I was given the run around for a whole month. I received an email saying I was approved pending a background check. I never received confirmation my background check cleared, I don't have any criminal activity in my background. I had to call e every couple of days to check the status of my application. I viewed a couple of apartments and no one was ever able to give me a clear answer as to what the hold up was with my application in spite of me receiving at least 3 approval emails. The worst ever application process is a joke how can you have terms of service not have a clue what they are and how to follow them ok my story I fill out application online I answered all questions to the best I could have anything I wasn't sure of when they called me I asked about so I could go back to make any changes I had uploaded all information they requested 1. I sat in my hot car waiting to see a unit that already been rented 2. Got sent to see another one that wasn't even on the market wasted gas and time again do these people know what communication is the last episode is the worst I was shown a unit I loved I ask questions concerning are and rental availability due to cross zip code I was assured not by one but 2 office officials they claimed to be that my section 8 voucher was covered to rent this apartment then I was inform I neede to come to sign paperwork and take to housing then I walk and was told I couldn't rent it it wasn't in the rental area code it was shared with the city duhh ask about that already then as they justified their actions I call as the told me while sitting there in the office for another listing after being there is no refund ok fine now I'm being told my application was denied I was told twice it had been approved and no one know why I have to wait 30 days and also write a letter requesting that information (why I was denied) This is totally unacceptable they don't have a clue and now they blame it on we have a new system everyone dose know how to work it so that's my fault I was there was someone higher up the chain I could talk to but of course they won't give the corporate office information!!!!!! I have been residing with Pangea since October. I like my place but I have been putting in the exact same work order since October about the sewage smell and even with the PM calling, it still has not been resolved. They came out, left a hole in my floor with a piece of wood over it, and black residue everywhere. I will be contacting BBB & HUD. Not only does it smell like this inside, it smells the same outside & the trash just never goes away. This smell is giving me headaches and constantly contacting customer care and placing work orders is a headache in itself. I was also told they no longer charge water, but I'm still being charged water. This is so frustrating. The townhomes on the other side are nothing like this. read more

This is the worst company ever. Work orders take 6 months to get handled, the maintenance crew suck, lawn/snow crew suck...it's been a 24 hour blizzard and not one snow removal crew has showed up to plow so cars are literally getting stuck in the middle of the street once you dig yourself out of the parking spot. But the tow crew comes every 5 minutes to tow your visitors car no matter the reason they're visiting. I wouldn't recommend anyone rent from this company...YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO!!! read more

Pangea is the worst company to ever rent from known to man. Here's my story, my boyfriend rents from them back in February his unit was broken into when I came to visit one night after work. It took them 4 hrs to come attempt to secure his unit so if whomever wanted to come back they could have & did God knows what to us while we waited on them. They came & nailed the door shut (fire hazard). Next day they were supposed to come replace the door but all they did was add some nails where the door was kicked in. Mind you talking to other neighbors the unit above him was supposed to be vacant but someone had been there for months staying. Talked to Pangea bout it they send someone to verify the same thing we told them. Anywho I had my boyfriend request to me moved to another property they gave him the runaround from that day to this one. Talked to property manager Charles myself & he assured myself & my boyfriend that he would be moved to another unit by the next month(lies). Yep he's still there cause he doesn't want to break his leases & have something negative on his credit. First they say he made to much money for the unit he wanted then they said he didn't make enough money for the other unit. They told him that on a $56,000 year income he couldn't afford to pay $1025 a month for rent he only qualify for a unit that's $620, but he's paying $720 now in the unit he in. SMGDH fast forward a few weeks ago the neighbor apartment across from him someone attempted to break in her unit while she was in the bed but she had a chair wedged against the door since his unit was broken into. They did her door the same way with the nails 3 days later she wasn't able to lock her door cause the lock was broken by the person who attempted to break in. She had to call the city for them to come out & fix her door. Then they told her they did a work order & when the maintenance guy shows up he tells her he just got the call a hour prior to him showing up that day not that Sunday when it happened. They're currently trying to evict her cause they had to pay a fine for not fixing her door in a timely manner. Someone continues to tamper with units in the building & what does Pangea do nothing to assure the safety of their tenants. How do you live in a apartment building & pay a water bill, how is heat included but you have to run space heaters or fireplace to keep your unit warm in the dead of winter, but their mission statement is that they treat their tenants like family. Yeah ok if this how you treat family I feel sorry for them. These ppl have bought up all these properties in Illinois & making all this money off ppl to treat them like they are nobodies. The city of Chicago said Pangea has the worst reputation in the Chicagoland area they get so many calls on them. I'm still encouraging my boyfriend to take his money elsewhere when his lease is up. I been at Pangea since March of 2019 and it's OKAY so far. The neighbors down stairs on the first floor are extremely loud, I hear bumping noises everyday it's literally ANNOYING!!!!!. Nidia the property manager has a nasty fucking ATTITUDE like every time I talk to her on the phone she sounds like she has a attitude and she cuts me off so unprofessional! The parking policy is petty if you double park you will get towed but they don't tow the car next to you that made you double park in the first place. The maintenance people are fucking nasty my hallway should not be smelling like throw up when I leave out for work. Don't get me wrong I'm thankful that I found a apartment but I don't recommend it to anyone. Keep your options open! If you go into their parking lot right now I bet you money the trash is overfull it looks so GHETTO!!! People wasn't honest with the reviews so I'm going to be Blunt.... Have a good day! read more

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. I've been having problems with my apartment since Ive moved in. On top of that they're now charging us for water, which I found out about when they sent a bill. I was never notified about us going to have a water bill. They claim they notified tenants back in a July. Ive been in this apartment since Oct 2016, and not once did I receive any kind of notice about a water bill. Wish I could rate them with no stars. That's how bad this company is. They claim to give you free heat. Which they put on the minimum temperature. It's always freezing cold in my apartment. I have to use a space heater which doubles my electricity bill. The front door to the building has been broken for 3 days now because the lady over the phone said it couldn't be put in as a emergency work order. Which is complete bs. I've been calling them for the past 15 minutes. It's 11:00 in the afternoon on a weekday and no ones answering the phone. Avoid the headache and rent from another company. read more
