Every summer we bring our dog here to board for for the day while we spend time on the lake. This place is so clean, neat. The employees are very welcoming and friendly. They ask if your dog can have treats provided by the kennel, something I appreciated. Wouldn't bring my pup anywhere else! read more

As an over protective dog mum, I was skeptical to leave our 12 lb terrier mix while we went on vacation to a pet unfriendly hotel in the Meredith area. But- we could not be happier with the service we received at the Lakes Region Pet Resort. We rang the resort each morning and if they were busy and couldn't answer, they called right back. Our pup was happy, healthy and smelled great (bonus) when we collected her 3 days later. Cindi and her team took great care of our little girl, and we recommend their resort highly. Just know that you are encouraged to bring your pet's own food and bed and toys, although we think they do accommodate beds if you forget. We had a really great experience here. Lakes Region Pet Resort is a fine place to board your pet but their business practices left us bewildered. We booked our Christmas vacation in August of 2014 and made reservations for our golden retriever at LRPR as well. On November 21st the owner called and requested a 50% deposit up front because they were booking fast for the Christmas season. We thought this was a little odd because their website states that "for pets staying more than 5 days a 50% deposit is required AT CHECK IN TIME", but we sent out the $100.00 right away. On December 2 our dog had a fall which caused him to lacerate his liver, causing internal bleeding and toxic shock that very nearly killed him. Thankfully his life was saved but he needed full attention and kept quiet till the end of December. This forced us to cancel our holiday trip and to cancel our dog's reservation as well. We did this on December 8th. My husband spoke to Cindy, the owner of LRPR and she said that although she felt bad for our dog she just didn't know if she'd give us our money back. We waited two weeks to hear from her, with no results, so my husband contacted her again. She said that we would not be receiving our money back. She felt bad for our dog, but things happen to people and pets all the time. She also said that she spoke with her husband about it and he said "What good is collecting a deposit if all we're going to do is give it back?". We were told that they'll put our money on file and when we board our dog there again, they'll apply the $100 to his visit. After this type of business decision, we have no desire to bring our dog back to LRPR! Their website also states that "due to the large number of boarding calls we receive a cancellation fee is at the discretion of the owners of LRPR. $100 fee for reservations cancelled less than 10 days before all holidays and winter and spring breaks." We cancelled 13 days in advance and were within their cancellation guide lines. Yes, they've credited our account and Yes, it is our decision to not return there but it's al due to their bad business decision. The severity of our dog's health should have been taken into consideration here.....and as I said, we cancelled 13 days in advance. If you choose to bring your pet here and they ask for a deposit before hand, be assured that you will not get your money back. read more

I love this place. I have a 9lb Irish Jack Russell with lots of energy. They are so good there fitting her with play pals. I have never boarded my dog in all my life. Now with Pebbles, socializing is really important. I was scared to leave her until I got there. The place is beautiful and the owner Cyndy quickly put me at ease with her knowledge of dogs and their care. Her staff so great too. I'm so comfortable, I'm boarding her for 3 days. She loves it there. Last week she came home and crawled into bed for three hours. So content! Thank you Lakes Region Pet Resort! read more

This is truly a pet resort! I left my standard schnauzer for the weekend and he had a great time. I was able to bring his bed and favorite toys and he had a private room! No crates here! I boarded my Mini Australian Shepherd Teddy for 11 days at the Lakes Region Pet Resort during the July 4th holiday time. This place is great! So clean, odor free, climate controlled, he had his own room with a door and plenty of outdoor time in a huge fenced in area. The staff are so pleasant and really enjoy what they are doing. When I picked him up I was so pleased to see that he was well cared for. I look forward to sending him there again and again! read more

We decided to send our dog (a toy poodle mix) here while vacationing in NH. We contracted for 7 days of daycare and several nights of boarding. Our dog attended two days of doggy daycare to get acclimated before doing overnight boarding. We were told he did fine and the staff raved about how sweet our dog was. We then boarded him for the following days of vacation as we were traveling the state and unable to have him in our rental accommodations. After the first night we got a call at 8am stating that our dog barked most of the night. They told us this was a problem. They said they would give it one more night and if it continued it would be an issue. On the second morning we got another call and were told he barked again and he was not welcome to remain at the facility. This put us in a real bind as we were vacationing. We were told that they would allow him to do doggy daycare but then rescinded this offer when my husband came to pick up because they sAid they couldn't handle his barking and potty (pee) accidents (surprise to us!) We were left without dog care and were offered no compensation or refund. We seriously question the integrity of this facility. Our dog is not a barking /yapping dog and does not have potty accidents in our care. If you are planning to use this facility and your dog may bark- at times- I'd seriously think twice as you will find yourself without dog care mid-way through your dog's stay. VERY POOR SERVICE! read more

We've used LRPR several times to board our two Border Collies for extended stays while we travel. Cindy has been very accommodating with last moment changes, which this year got us out of a jam, as our in-home dog sitter bailed in the 11th hour. They readily changed our plans from day boarding of one dog to overnight boarding for two dogs. (Thankfully our dogs can share a single enclosure.) The facility is clean and modern, and the staff are quite pleasant. We certainly don't mind paying the deposit, and we find the fees quite reasonable given the responsibility they assume caring for our family pets. We're thrilled that such a high quality pet resort is so close to our home. read more
