I was recommended to this place and I've heard nothing but good things about this place, but they didn't take my insurance is the only reason why my children didn't end up going there, but I'm sure if they did take our insurance. I have incredible anxiety with going to the dentist and require the use of nitrous oxide. I explained all of this when I made my appt. I only came to this practice as my dentist had retired and recommended them. I was told when I arrived that I had to pay 225 for the nitrous immediately. I explained that my insurance covered it and has always covered it. The girl I spoke with refused to call my insurance, said this was policy and refused to let me talk with a supervisor. I asked if I paid today would this be the case every time once they found out it was covered. She said I would have to pay every time. By now my anxiety was through the roof so I left. I called my insurance who said that some practices may have this policy but that I should have been told this when I made the appt. She confirmed that nitrous was covered and got us on a call with Jameka at the practice. She also stressed that this call was being recorded. When I was talking Jameka interrupted, I told her that I wasn't done talking and she again interrupted saying she wasn't going to discuss this further and was going to hang up and hung up. The insurance agent apologized and said she would request an investigation. She also said she would send me a list of other providers. My daughter who had heard that call was appalled and said I should never go back. I later spoke with Pam the office manager who said she would look into my previous records and get back with me Monday. She also apologized. If Jameka was that rude on a recorded three way call then what is she like when the call isn't being recorded? I am a retired social worker and appalled a professional would behave in this manner. i think she should be fired. read more

i have been going to see Dr. Jake for about a year and a half. He and the rest of his staff are honestly the best in the business for sure. I have always hated going to the dentist but Jake and his wife Robin are just in a different league. Very unprofessional. My kids went for a new patient appointment, both was there for over 2 hours. Did not get their teeth cleaned. I was informed by the receptionist that, the Dentist and hygienist was very busy and couldn't see them for their cleaning. Dr Halsey was rude when she did finally come to introduce herself. Cleaning by Danielle is performed thoroughly with care and patience. Doctor Jake and his staff have friendly and upbeat attitudes. I find that only what is necessary is done and no procedures are done that are not explained in great details and graphically. The person who takes care of insurance coverage also does a good job and estimates are given before any work is done. Doctor Jake takes great care to avoid any pain by not rushing nor cutting corners. read more

This is my second review. I am leaving this one to comment further on the excellence of Lakeshore. I needed an emergency follow up appointment just prior to the holidays. It was such short notice I was sure they would not be able to see me until after the holidays. However, I was happy I was pleasantly surprised at the opposite; not only did they fit me in just in time before closing for the holidays, but they made sure I had another confirmed appointment for the New Year to make sure I just to make sure all was well. Once again they made all of the necessary adjustments with quality work. One of the great on site assistants was experienced enough to handle the my situation in record time and the same day while the dental team did not miss a beat in caring fpr other patients (simultaneously) who actually came in with appointments. They never inconveniencing me nor anyone else. They are true professionals. I went home pleased with the results once again. Life happens. Thank goodness for people like the Lakeshore staff who have seen it all lol. They ensured my holidays were worry free and I could still enjoy it with a great smile. Extremely disappointed in the lack of service I received at my appt today. I went for my 6mo cleaning and asked to forego the exam with the dentist as I didn't feel it was necessary since I had seen the dentist last July. I was told Dr Jake would do the exam for free today, but it would be charged at all future appts. I was not informed that my dental hygienist had called in sick and that there was no other hygienist available and my appt was not rescheduled for when a hygienist would be available. Upon arrival a dental assistant polished and flossed my teeth and told me the dentist would have to perform the remainder of cleaning. The new dentist to the practice came in and performed the "free" exam and then said I was done. When I asked if I would have the remainder of my cleaning appt performed, she said, "no, I don't see any build up, you're fine." So ends up that I had the privilege of paying DOUBLE the exam fee for an exam I didn't even want in lieu of having my teeth cleaned properly! UPDATED: After my online review Dr Jake called me personally to find out what happened today. He apologized and will get me scheduled with my hygienist for a proper cleaning ASAP. I recently moved to Mooresville and needed a dentist, my husband found lakeshore dentistry and we decided to give it a try. My husband had his appointment first and told me he loved it, he was like I was watching tv the entire time they were working on my teeth, this is coming from someone that HATES going to the dentist, so I made my appointment, I was running late-ugh! I was dreading the you are late for your appointment lecture that I usually get from the receptionist, but surprisingly when I got there everybody was super friendly, a big smile, not one word about me being late at all, it seemed as if they were happy to have me there..... I was thinking wow that's new lol (although that's how clients/ patients should be treated, I don't see this very often- so it was a good surprise!). I only had to complete one form since most of your information they get it in advance by phone(address, insurance etc.) I didn't have to wait at all either, as soon as I signed that one form they were ready for me, they did a great job at cleaning my teeth, not painful at all, the lady who cleaned my teeth was very gentle and would ask me if I was ok or/ if needed a little break . Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing but I really liked this place, Everybody there was very friendly and made me feel comfortable, no waiting time- seriously I was in and out within 30- 45 minutes, the place is ice and clean, we will definitely recommend! My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Jake for around 2 years and I can't adequately express how wonderful our experiences have been. My husband had a crown done and his experience was top notch and he shared with me how gentle and painless his experience had been. Dr. Jake recommended a mouth guard for me and it has decreased my headaches and pain I had been experiencing. He also crowned my two front teeth that had slowly been dying after a much earlier accident. He is a perfectionist and did a beautiful job. He is an amazing dentist, very calm, gentle and willing to explain your situation so you can make informed decisions. Recently I burned my mouth and it didn't heal properly and really became very sensitive. He checked for nerve inflammation and determined nothing there so a round of antibiotics should clear it up and it is getting better. I am so grateful for all he has done to help me. Very friendly and polite staff. Was greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionists. The hygienist was very nice and I could tell she did a good job removing the build up on my teeth. The dentist took the time to explain everything in depth and pointed things out on my xrays, which no dentist has ever done before.
