I has an extremely bad experience with this place. Back in May 2022 I had my lawnmower picked up and serviced for a tune up and it wasn't starting. I got the lawnmower back from them a few weeks later and the lawnmower still had the same problem and wasn't fixed the way it should have been, when I called them to report it still wasn't fixed right they wouldn't take it back unless I paid for another tune up because it was starting fine for them. The owner seems like a greedy money hungry prick who does not care about his/her customers and the service they get. Do not do business with this place. read more

Have used in the past with no problems until recently. Reserved a lawn mower and trailer on a Saturday to pick up on a Monday. My neighbor mowed my lawn for me so I called to cancel first thing Monday morning. I was told there is a $200 canceling fee which is more than what I would have spent to rent items. Talked with manager he said $75 fee. Legally there was no mention of cancelation fees while making the reservation for item and I did not sign any contract so I refused to pay. I was told never to go there again. Very rude and hung up on me. Ask questions and watch out for made up fees. read more

I've been going here for several years. I have had regular maintenance, tune-ups and rebuilds done here and have always been totally satisfied. The floor sales staff is knowledgeable and always helpful. Repair personnel are efficient and fast. I have never had to take anything back because of a problem. Today I dropped off my chainsaw for a full tune-up. Since we are clearing our land to begin creating an orchard it has had continual hard use. I'm sure that when I get it back later this week it will be as good as new. Tune-up cost will be very reasonable as are all of their prices. This store is tailored to hard working outdoor workers and will never disappoint. read more

I was not happy with how the call went. I simply needed help and was told to go somewhere else. Simply because I could not find the model number on my snowblower. The part I needed was a cable for my auger/chute. I had the length and explained that to the lady. I asked if I could come in to try and compare to see if we can find something. She told me they had hundreds and they only have part numbers and names on there. Nothing with length. I stated that we could just look it up and see if we could locate it. I was willing to pay but she did not want to do any work. I should have known to not call 30 mins before closing. I own a business, and if someone called for help, explaining they really need the help. I would suck it up and help. I will never go here ever! read more

Hands down, these guys suck at small engine repair. I brought a small engine to them to repair a slow oil leak. I was told it should take less than a week to fix. 2 weeks went by and I called wondering when it might be finished just to be told they hadn't started working on it yet. 3 weeks went by and I called again to be told they were waiting on a part. 4 weeks went by and I called on a Monday and asked if I could pick up my engine repaired or not as I couldn't wait any longer. I was told I would get a call back the next day, and I did. Tuesday I was contacted by a woman stating it was finished and ready for pick up. A bit concerned about the speed of the repairs I asked what their warranty was on labor, 30 days she replied. 1 month and 26 days after I pick up my "repaired" engine its leaking more oil than it ever has! I called and spoke to the woman at the desk and she took my information and told me I would receive a call back within the next day. That was over a week ago and I've still heard nothing! Very disappointing. I'll never go back!! read more

where do i start? i have an older ariens snowblower that ran great but just needed a tune up. as most people know that own the older ariens, they run like a bear. i went to lakeshore hardware because my father had taken his machine there a few years ago and had luck, but i now believe that was under different management. after about a week i was called and told that my machine was ready to be dropped off, according to lakeshore it just needed a rebuilt carburetor, an oil change, lube, and a new fuel line, total approx. $220. It seemed kind of high but i dont mind paying if the work is good. they told me that it was now running great and that its a good machine. The first snowfall after it was "fixed", it kept stalling out whenever i would start to throw snow, but it was running great just sitting there. i called lakeshore and they told me they would again pick it up and take a look. while looking the machine over i noticed that my electric starter was actually loose and a bolt was just about to fall out. I pointed this out to the driver when he arrived. After about another week, they called and again said everything is working great and they will drop it off. A short time later they notified me that there is a problem and the machine is not holding idle. Now they tell me that my machine is very old and that i need to decide if i want to put more money into repairing it or get a new one because they determined that it is the "internal governor". But they will try to get it running to make it through this season and that they willl not charge me anything to do this, lol, i guess they forgot about the $220 i already paid. So I got the machine and waited for the first snowfall to test it out. Well now it runs even worse, it wont even run five minutes without stalling, and that is just sitting at idle. So I paid $220 to tune up a machine that ran beautiful and now I have a useless machine, My advice is to NOT use Lakeshore hardware. They offered to put my $220 towards a new snowblower (which they said start at $1000) instead of giving me a refund, even a partial refund would have been fair. I feel like I was robbed. read more
