Now I have to drive the 10 miles to exchange it not knowing if the two this store says they have in stock are new or are also broken returns. read more

Customer center person said would check on it and would call me back the next day. No call. I then went to store to inquire personally 2 days later. They had rug in store. Picked up rug and receipt. Miserable experiences with bad communication, waiting over an hour for them to drop a custom order from the shelf after I called ahead 6 hours before, difficult to find anyone working the aisles. I've even had an employee chase me down because I came back inside to have my paint mixed and dropped my receipt. The same employee who seen me walk in the door! I had to wait almost 45 minutes for them to prove I actually paid for my items. Meanwhile, my receipt was on the floor in the cart corral. I hate the way they make their customers feel like criminals. Oh, and good luck finding any items in stock. No one has any idea what they are doing. read more

Carpet installers came to put rugs in at 430pm on a windy Thursday. A month ago I had a fish tank spill. They knew this. There was slime from a children's toy and paint from the walls (we didn't use a drip cloth). My rugs were a mess. Installers refused to do the job: carpets were possibly a bio-hazard. My opinion? "We don't feel like doing this at 430pm after a long day...." I was irate. Why do people get new rugs? I cancelled the whole order. I am an RN. I told people at work who had similar issues with the installer who always starts his sentences with "I've been doing this for 27 years...". Sorry dude. You cost your company a sale. You can't say we didn't tell you the old carpet wasn't going to be to your high standards. read more

I was here the other day, they definitely were all right. I would not say it was the greatest experience I've ever had but it wasn't terrible. They had everything I was looking for which was nice. A lot of the items seem overpriced but it's a big box store so that's kind of expected. The service was actually decent so the staff are doing something all right at the moment. It's basically the only thing in my area for this type of store, so I basically stuck shopping here no matter what. The hallways are a bit narrow and there is always someone in my way but that isn't necessarily the stores fault. read more

I will never step foot in here again. In fact, I'm canceling my credit card with them. Today, I wanted to stop by and get some tube sand bags to place in the bed of my truck. Not being familiar with the layout, I decided to check out the gardening section first. I had no luck. I asked a near by employee where I might find the sand bags and he mumbled "Lumber." I questioned "Hummer?..." He seemed aggravated and said "Lumber". I went to Lumber and found nothing but bags of cement mix. I asked an associate there, "hey man, where can I find some tube sand bags?" He told me outside by the door. I told him the other associate said here at Lumber. He verified what I was looking for was outside. I went outside and had no luck finding it. At this point, I was getting aggravated. I found another associate having fun moving around handicap carts and asked him, "Where can I find tube sand bags?" He stated, "outside by the contractor area" and pointed to where I just came from. I asked in an aggravating tone, "where!?" And all he said was, "that's all I can tell you..." as he went back to having fun at work on the scooter. I went back to where I originally was and told the cashier, "I've asked 3 associates where I can find tube sand bags and no one could really help me out. Can you help me?" She gave me a dumbfounded look on her face, walked 5 feet from where we were standing and said right here. There it was in the corner with a sign in front of it saying "cement mixes". I looked at them and decided, "you know what, fuck it. I'll go to Lowes. This place has terrible customer service!!!! They will treat you like retards. read more

Try and call customer service..45 minutes on hold and transferred to another non interested worker ..another 30 minutes... The department is in bad shape .. a disgrace to box stores.. If I could give you a - 100 as a rating I would. NEVER NEVER EVER get anything installed by a home depot contractor!!! We purchased a dishwasher and paid to have it installed through Home Depot. After 2 failed attempts due to the dishwasher being damaged the third install turned out to be a disaster. The technician had to drill the holes for tubing and damaged our brand new sink cabinet, because apparently he doesnt know drilling 101. We went to Home depot in which the manager said we would have to file and insurance claim with the install contractor who is Spirit Delivery and Distribution... All we are getting is the run around after submitting two quotes which they asked for. The Home Depot manager just pawned it off saying its not the stores problem now... Yet its the store that we handed our money over too! We even received an email from the technician who did the damage saying we were playing games and HE was nice enough to offer to pay for the cabinet??? When is it company policy to have the technician pay for an insurance claim??? We have purchased all our flooring, dishwasher, snow blower, paint, lawn tractor... and endless other things from here but that ends today! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

Not all Home Depots are the same. As with any chain of stores, there are always the good and the bad. In this case, this Home Depot is not the best. It's a very small store and the garden center was poorly stocked and disorganized. I can say though that the return I needed to make went seamlessly, and I found some awesome hostas, that were a pretty unique variety on sale. If for some reason I needed to come here instead of the Lowes in the area, it would suffice but if Home Depot is a must, I'd rather go to the one in Clarence! read more

They can either be extraordinarily helpful, or very aggravating depending on who you ask for help. Some workers are completely clueless and send you to the wrong departments to find things yourself. Some workers know exactly where to go, and they will escort you to the exact item you're looking for. Luckily the ladder is usually what I experience. I had an issue today with trying to find parts to build a banister for a staircase. I was in the area picking out parts for about 20 minutes, when a worker kind of shooed me away because someone else came up and needed something off of a top shelf. I'm not even sure how many times I had to ask him if I could keep looking where I was looking, and he just kept saying to move a little bit. This went on until I was about 20 feet away. So I was clearly mad since I was trying to get about $500 worth of materials, and was getting kicked out of where I had been when no one else was in the isle. Luckily the manager smoothed out everything, and assisted me with getting all of the materials I needed. He even cut the pieces personally for me and helped me load them into the car. read more

Sorry I can't give less than 1 star. Ordered a very expensive Kohler sink in May. Go to the store to pick it up in June - oops, someone dropped it and the enamel is shattered. No problem we'll order you another one, it will be in next week. Now it's September and my kitchen project is still on hold while I wait for the replacement. NEVER AGAIN! I should have ordered from build.com or anyplace but HD. Since July they've been lying to me about when the replacement will ship. BUYER BEWARE. More info for customer service people: I ordered a Whitehaven K6427-7 sink online in May, and it was delivered to the Hamburg store. I came to pick it up 6/10, only to find it was broken either in transit or at your store. It was re-ordered June 12 and still has not been delivered, more than 3 months later. My wife and I have spoken to at least 20 different customer service reps who all have different answers but they have no idea what's really keeping my $1500 sink from getting to me. I emailed the CEO of Home Depot and "maybe" that will get something accomplished. Better yet, I am most likely going to cancel my order and get the sink from build.com ! I should have bought stock in Home Depot for the amount of times I've gone here. I own a 120 year old house and have gutted each room myself over the last 7 years. There's still more to do. Jusy the amount of spackle, paint, paint stripper, rollers and brushes and wood that I have purchased there alone, is staggering. I must have shelled out thousands. This store usually has everything I need and it's a short 7 min drive from my home so I go often. Many times during the course of a big project, I'll go 3-4 times in one day. I hate those days! But overall it has what I need and is convenient to get to. It could use more employees because every time I need someone in any other department besides the paint department (they always have people there) I can't find anyone. Their garden center is pretty good too. They could use a makeover because it's just not a pleasant looking environment but I guess that's not the point. read more

After waiting 15 minutes an "appliance person" arrived but soon said someone else was better to deal with my questions. The next person said they could not give deals or match prices unless they were Lowes. Unfriendly people. On the 27th I bought $7480 of appliances from another store. read more

One star is too generous for Home Depot. We decided to have a small kitchen remodeled for an apartment in W. Seneca so we decided to go with Home Depot. It was a huge mistake. We ordered everything in June and were promised that it would be completed by the end of August. Here it is about a month later and the only thing they have done so far is install the cabinets. Plus some of the cabinets will not work properly where they were placed... What a joke! We were told it will take several more weeks for the counter top to be installed and then all the tile and back splash will have to be installed after that. So now we are talking about the installation being two months late for completion. Unfortunately we live out of state so one of us has to stay there and babysit the project. To top it off we charged the whole job on a Home Depot credit card so we can't even stop paying. It seems like they have no clue how to run there home improvement department. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Home Depot for the installation of any product... You will be in for a rude awakening..... As of today the poor service continues with no end in site! read more
