Biggest bonus-it was half the price-labor and the part cost me just $350! Very courtesy and professional-and he doesn't rip you off like the other guys! Last night I turned off all the Electric base board heaters ,and set my new unit to keep my whole place warm for the night . I woke this morning, and it was warm !!!! so happy the whole place was warm ! Yes its warming out side but the mornings are always cold in that add a room . This is how the job went . I called Noco when I decided to spend the money and stop complaining about the cold place I had bought. JUMP in and spend!! it its worth it , And the people at Noco the best . I got an appointment for the next week to have it done . They came, it took a few hours , they finished that day . I am so happy with the unit and the Men that installed it . Even The service man came to check on the installers and how the job was going. His name is Dave, My Installers were Dave, and Andrew . My sales person was so informative, The Best ! His name is Steve. He also came to check the project. I couldn't praise them any more the 5 stars ? But I would have !!!!!Great Company! Called these guys and promptly received a call back…read more Although the gentleman on call couldn't make it over there that day, they had someone call back the next morning and arrive by afternoon, which was July 4th. The service fee wasn't egregious for it being July 4th. The problem was as suspected, a capacitor that was shot. They had one on the truck they could swap it out with. The only qualm I had was they charged like $380 for the part, when it's $40 or so at Home Depot. Just seems like a little heavy on the upmark, but with it being July 4th; I was just grateful to get the A/C fixed. Good communication; recommended! Parts were a little pricey.

Then came the day a neighbor needed a plumber and called them, recommended by a coworker of my neighbor (who happened to be family of theirs). The two employees have vulgar mouths (cussed at each other the whole time they were "working", facetiming wives or girlfriends (phones are important nowadays) even though their conversation that day was about how terrible women are. All in all, they completed the job but due to lack of focus and or knowledge my neighbor ended up contacting another company to correct the work they did. Saving money does not always equal quality work.

Just got the bad news that the furnace for my rental unit was shot -- no surprise as it was at…read moreleast 50 years old and had scorch marks all over the inside cabinet. Given the fact that I'm obsessive, I called about 10 furnace companies to get verbal quotes and schedule on-site estimates. Over half of those companies use answering services or receptionists who apparently have no idea what a furnace is. Only two companies answered where I was actual talking to an HVAC technician. The prices for a 45,000 BTU furnace ranged from $1900-2800, which each company giving me a different line about how they use "this brand or that brand" and how so many things would effect the actual cost of the job. One company even told me I'd have to replace my hot water tank, too. I called Hawco based on the recommendation of a colleague who owns several rental properties, and Jim Hawco promptly showed up. He quickly scoped out my set-up and gave me a non-binding quote that was significantly less than the competitors. I told him to book it and cancelled the 6 other appointments I had scheduled for estimates. Jim and his son showed up exactly on the day we booked the installation, and even fabricated a new cold air return for only $100. A new, programmable thermostat was included in the initial quote (most companies make this an option with an upcharge) and will be great for our tenant to save on fuel costs. Hawco is a family-owned business between two brothers and a son, and when you call, you talk to the owner and the guy doing the job -- not a receptionist. I'll definitely be calling when it comes time to upgrade our house HVAC.
