My Corgi "Tato" has been a patient at Lakeside for the last almost 2 years. I cannot overstate what a wonderful practice this is. From the front desk staff to the techs to the veterinarians, everyone is always so kind and excited to see Tato. Pets are a little like human children, in the sense that while we as owners or parents of course think they're the most wonderful creatures alive, most people won't share that enthusiasm to the same degree. But at Lakeside, I get the impression that they really do genuinely enjoy Tato, and that's such a nice bonus. As for the level of care itself, they have graciously squeezed me in first thing in the morning before I have to be at work for minor things multiple times. For more complex concerns that require a full exam, I'm able to book an appointment in the app and I never have to wait more than a week to get my pup seen. Dr. Corpuz is fabulous! She's terrific about going over all available options regarding prevention and treatment for whatever is going on with your pet. You can always request an estimate up-front and the staff will absolutely provide that, so you always know what to expect as far as care and treatment costs are concerned. I'm moving close to an hour away and will be keeping Dr. Corpuz as our veterinarian. We love her, we love her staff, and we love how they treat my sweet girl. She looks forward to going to the vet, and I always feel like she's in excellent hands. 10 stars on a 5-star scale! read more

The sad part of this story is that the vet, Dr Corpuz was wonderful. It's the front staff and Raechell Culley that are the problem. When I took our dog in for her second set of shots, they charged us for a "comprehensive exam" (all that was done was heart check and temp check) and then the shots were which ended up being well over $100. When asked why we are being charged for a comprehensive exam, Raechell said "it's typically required" and interrupted me any chance I tried to talk. The front staff doesn't communicate whatsoever what your pricing is going to be, which two people told me that that should be standard protocol for them. Raechell is extremely full of herself and doesn't truly care what is going on with the patients. She cares about what SHE has to say and won't give you an opportunity otherwise. It's sad such a good vet is working with a bunch of incompetent people because they have lost business now. Of course as I researched this office now, I find this isn't the first, second, or tenth time they've overcharged or not communicated with patients on pricing. I strongly advise you against visiting this veterinarian due to the experience I had on 7/5/24 the level of malice and unprofessionalism displayed by the staff member was shocking 1. They snatched my dog without any courtesy or explanation 2. I was left outside for a 1 1/2 waiting anxious waiting on a update on my dog 3. They proceeded to charge me for service and treatments I had explicitly not agreed to 4. When they handed me my pet back it was horrifying he died right after 5. Despite my loss they overcharged me for their inadequate services 6. To make matters worse they lied on me and my pet 7. One of the staff member were incredibly rude and dismissive toward me 8. I'm a new resident of the area and this was the closest veterinarian. I knew a neighbor used them so I gave them a try. Due to COVID, I wasn't able to go inside with my cats, which limits my ability to review them. The techs were prompt and friendly when coming out to take my cats in and returning them to me. Dr. Kang spent 25 minutes on the phone with me, discussing in detail what she had done to and for my cats, and her recommendations for each of them. I was originally going to give them 4-stars because the doctor didn't come out to my car to speak in person (since we both had to wear masks and it was a beautiful day in December). But when realizing how long we spoke on the phone, I decided 5-stars was more fair. I really do hope that I will be able to go inside sometime soon! As far as cost goes, it was only slightly more than I paid in Ohio, so I felt I was fairly charged. read more

I thought Lakeside was a good vet for our pets. They really neglected my Mia she had kidney disease and on medications for it from Virginia where we moved from. That is first thing I wrote in her medical records and when I called for appointment I told them I needed her medications filled they said they would but had to do blood work to check her kidney functions and other things. Told me everything was good and filled her medications. Come to Find out Friday March 3rd they never not one time checked her kidney functions or anything else. Because of Lakeside negative on my little dog Mia she died Friday night. I had to take her and let them put her to sleep Urgent Vet in Southern Pines tried there best to help me said we only can buy her some time. I would never tell anyone to go to this vet ever again and I've told others that do take there pets there what happened and they stopped taking there pets also. I got all Mia medical records from Virginia and Carthage vet so they lied when they told me they didn't know about her kidneys they removed it out of her chart where I had told them and I told them on phone. Guess they forgot they had gotten all her med records and it's in them in black and white. Mia would still be here if they had done what they should had been doing. I'm going to fine a lawyer that will get juic for my sweet baby girl. Lakeside killed her and I'm very upset and anger with them for lying to me. My review is based on an experience. I will begin by mentioning I found a dog on Manchester rd I was on my way to work I pick up dog took her with me and called a friend to watch her while I was at work since I could just call out. Friend pick up pet showered, spend money on food and dog collar and accessories. Once I was off we took her to this place where it was near home and was open after my shift. Then microchip her and no chip when I found her she had a collar no tags. I posted pictures and post about her same day where later I was told by manager to don't post pictures because anyone will claims her so I deleted them. Later pet received a quick exam and we was told she had ear infection, rash contagious, and worms. They advice to leave her there and they will call Cumberland county since that where I found her so they could pick her up and take her to assign location. And Cumberland county will treat her. They will also do their best to find owner by posting things. So I trusted them and said okay. Next day I call to know how pet was they mention someone was on their way to pick pet up. I called Cumberland county hours later and they have no idea of the situation I felt I was lied to. I was upset but I had to understand things happens after that the whole situation. Cumberland county animal control tells me they will keep her following the 10 hold as Cumberland protocol and they I could reach out to them and see it she had been claim if not. I can let them know I willing to adopt her according to Cumberland county protocol. Week later I call to find out status manager was very unprofessional and give me an attitude about she is not providing any information to me I can just contact Cumberland animal control all I wanted to know was she wa shaky and had find her owner. She cut me off my question and rudely said "mam if u have questions u can contact Cumberland county" and hanged up on me I called back she said the same thing and did not even apologized but this time she cut me off by saying " I'm ending this conversation have a nice dayyyy byeee" and hang up. How professional is this? After incident i try to keep my cool and day later called Cumberland county again and spoke to Jennifer at animal control and she stated same thing she mentioned to me on day one " tech out to them tell them u interest in adopting her but at the end is their call if they keep her, put her in adoption, or send her to a organization where they have them. I waited 10 days called Friday and same answer call Cumberland county called Cumberland county and they continue to direct me to this rude manager. I decide to give them a break and later follow up I stop after work and manager avoided to speak to me later came out and did the told me the same thing and even made u that I didn't even had the intentions to find their owners.. to be begin with I picked her up from a hot ass day, gave her shelter for a day then took her to vet to verify she had a microchip and been following her tracks does that even mean I didn't care about her finding her owners? Because according to her I wanted to keep her. First of all I work even mention I found her. 2nd I would even take her to vet and get micro chip. Neither I would of post things of social media page of pets. Incredible how they show a face once Me and friend took her in and then she acts like a I have done something wrong. Honestly. I'm glad baby girl is doing good I assume since they at enjoy releasing any info. She is a French Bulldog if she was a pit bull they won't even argue with me about adopting her. And if it was a pit bull I would even adopt her as well as military housing is not okay by pets breeds restrictions. I take both my dogs here, and initially chose it for the convenience. The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. I've never felt pressured into procedures, vaccines, or medications that don't seem necessary. My one issue (and they seem to be getting a bit better on this), is they could serve their clients more efficiently. I've had appointments take an hour that could have easily been half that; sometimes I'm left sitting in the exam room for 15-20 minutes waiting... not super fun when you have a dog that gets anxious at the vet. read more

This animal hospital is AMAZING. DO NOT listen to the bad reviews. This hospital took care of my cat.... currently is. She needed emergency visits and operations multiple times. They are very understanding of personal situations and they are super nice. They don't go too invasive if they don't have to. They do what your budget can do and they do the best they absolutely can. I have had a great experience here with both of my dogs vaccines. Costs are average, staff are friendly and the facility is clean. HOWEVER.... I was quoted for both dogs to be boarded almost 2 months ago. I paid the reservation fee & then decided to pay the remainder in full during a following appointment. Which was completely fine... UNTIL.... I received an email today stating that I will be required to pay MORE at the time of picking up dogs from their stay because they have raised their boarding prices. Shouldn't those increased rates only affect future reservations & not those who have already received a quote & paid their reservation fee and/or full cost? Per the owner, all are responsible for the increased rates no matter how much has already been paid (reservation fee or full payment). This is WRONG and not good business. read more

Called to have my small dog's nails clipped which in the past has taken them 5 minutes, no more. They said it will take a week to get an appointment. This is not the first time I have been treated like this. I have spent thousands of dollars with them on pet care and they are treating me this way. They have screwed things up many times and I wonder even if they are fully certified! Their customer service has always been lacking. Wonderful staff, came in with my cat about 6pm and left about 7:15pm. I figured I was going to drive to the ER vet in Vass because I came an hour before they closed. When I walking into the office, my cat mowed in distress, and immediately one of the staff members took him to the back to get checked. They were able to come up with a course of action in a reasonable time, and explain there prices. Within the time I was there, they did x-rays and determined which antibiotics he needed. Definitely pleased with the service, coming back tomorrow with my two other animals to get there yearly check ups. read more

5 December bringing 2022 I went to the Lakeside Animal Hospital at or around 11:45. I explained to the lady at the desk that Luke's vet was located in Carthage, NC and currently did not have power, so they were not able to provide Luke's Vetsulin (insulin for dogs and cats) because it has to be refrigerated just like human insulin, so I needed to pick up a vial from them. I had brought the previous prescription and the history records I had to show he needed it. The front desk lady went back to speak with the veterinarian that was there to see what they could do. Twenty minutes later the front desk lady returned to tell me that they could not help me. "That I would have to bring my dog there to be entered as a new patient and it would cost $75.00 and then the cost of the Vetsulin". I reminded them of the power issue in Moore County right now and they said that was all they could do. I immediately collected my paper and told them they would read about this experience. Knowing that Moore County is in a state of emergency, and they disregard the folks coming there and try to extort money from them. Big mistake, I was considering bring both my dogs there and making it my vet office, however, after your disregard for the health of my animal I decided to take them to Riverbark. My husband and I just moved to the area and we needed to finish our puppy's vaccinations so we decided to go with the closest vet to us. Lakeside was wonderful! They were able to fit in a last minute request for a nail trimming and did it so my puppy, Loki, didn't freak out like he does with me. We've been going to Lakeside Animal Hospital since they opened due to, after first, convenience since our house was around the corner. We've always had great service and you can tell they care about your animal. We Moved out of state then returned living 30 minutes away. Our cat got very sick and had to be seen immediately. I absolutely HATE to leave a negative review on a vet clinic, but I feel like I got taken advantage of and feel the need to share. I'll start off by saying, everyone in the office was professional and super friendly. The office was extremely clean, even the exam room was spotless (and odorless which is always a plus!). However, I feel like I was "suckered" into paying a whole lot of money for some products that I feel are severely overpriced. I took my dog in for her annual vaccinations and was quoted $167 for the exam and shots. I know there's always a chance the price can go up if they find anything, or medications are needed. Totally understandable. Sadly, my adorable pup had an ear infection, and needed some Epi-Otic ear cleaner as well as mometamax medication. I added the Lyme vaccination($40), and of course they had to run an ear cytology ($30). Needless to say, it was adding up quick. The vet tech brought in the invoice breakdown with a total of $389. I was nauseous having to pay this (my husband and I just moved across the country, just bought a home, and I'm pregnant, so our budget is tight). I let the vet tech know all of this and asked if there's any way I can get any of these ear infection products at a pet store to save some money. She told me that they really recommend the Epi-Otic because it has a drying agent and works best. So I felt like that's what I needed to get. It was $20. The mometamax was $45. My husband and I googled both of these, you can get the Epi-Otic for $9-$10 online or at petco or petsmart. And you can get the mometamax for $22 on Amazon. Little bit of a markup there... She has to go back in three weeks for the Lyme vaccine booster (another $40) and then they want to charge me another $26 to look at her ears and another $30 for an ear cytology (again)... so basically another $100. No thank you. I hate to say it, but I won't be going back to this clinic. I'm all about local business and I understand the need to make a profit, but that's just too much. There's a difference between making an honest profit and completely taking advantage of people. read more

I've tried 3 times to make an appointment for my dogs. The first attempt was through their website. I submitted the required information and was informed that I'd hear from the office within 24-48 hours. I received an email 3 days letter stating I needed to download the app in order to get an appointment. Take 2. I downloaded the app, created an account (even added a picture of my dog for cuteness points), and submitted my appointment request. 24 hours later I receive an email stating the office would be closed and I'd have to contact the office directly for an appointment. Take 3. I contacted the office and asked about the appointment but was told there was no account in my name or under my phone number. If you're looking for a personal experience as a new customer at this clinic you won't find it here. I understand that smart phones connect us in ways never thought possible but is it too much to ask for a simple phone call? I really wanted to use this clinic as it's close to my home but it's not worth the hassle. read more

My dogs have been seen at Lakeside for a number of years. They've always received the best care and all of my questions and concerns have been addressed and answered. We had to put our dog down a few months ago and the staff could not have been any kinder. I was allowed to spend as much time with my beloved dog before and after he was put to sleep. Their kindness and concern made an already difficult decision easier to bare. Our new pup has received amazing care during his rounds of puppy shots, as well. I highly recommend Lakeside. read more

We have been going to lakeside since they first open, we had actually been going to a different vet that we liked but since lakeside was alot closer, we switched...up until the last 9mths or so we never had a problem...my 12 y/o has been going there since we adopted her...over the yrs, I had several bloody emergencies between her & our now deceased dog....I never called a head of time, jusctook them in...in those instances they were seen immediately...however, like I said, over the last 9mths or so, my dogs have become terrified to go there...my 11 y/o shakes uncontrollably...2 wks ago I called & told them my dog was peeing &;drinking excessively...I was told they had a 2pm or I could do a drop off & they would get to her asap...I also told them she seemed to b having issues breathing, at which they said to get her there...the tech took her in, they accessed her & brought her back out with an estimate of what the doc wanted to do...the tech also said the doc noticed a mass on her shoulder...they wanted to biopsy it...at first I agreed, but then felt the peeing excessively issue more important...my daughter works for an emergency vet over an hr away...she reached out to lakeside several times throughout the day, as well as myself...each time I was told she was fine...she DID NOT HAVE ANY LABS UNTIL 2pm that day...it turned out my dog had a severe uti...she was running a fever of 104!!! & had high resperations!!! when I talked to the dr, she said depending on the biopsy it could b cancer & that she didn't know how deep the mass was or guarantee she'd get it all...when I picked her up, she appeared to b in more distress....that nite I laid on the floor praying to God to take her peacefully in her sleep....I literally cried all nite...from tues-fri I called EVERYDAY requesting the records from that day & was always told "they're not ready"...2 wks later I get a text from my daughter with a sceenshot of a vet medicine only fb pg...the practice manger, tho left out my name, but included my daughters place of business was bashing us...I received a few other texts from friends in the friend that had seen it as well...putting 2 &:2 together they knew it was about my dogs visit...when the tech brought my dog back to my car, all she had on was the vets slip lead...when I questioned y her collar & harness was not on, I got the excuse "dixie was in a hurry to leave"...that was the most crappyest excuse!!! two weeks later, my girl is back to her self & the "mass" that the vet was "very concerned about" is gone...with a temp as high as it was, along with high resperations, she should have NEVER SAT IN A KENNEL FOR 6HRS!!! read more

As the first comment says: they get the job done. Overall I would recommend Dr. Corpuz. Disclaimer: Moving all the time with the Army I've been to 4 vets for the same dog prior to coming to Lakeside, so I'm probably more picky then the average person. I've been to better offices and I've been to worse offices. This vet's office never gave me the "warm fuzzy" feeling I have gotten from previous animal care providers, where they remember you and remember your dog and seem genuinely interested in you. The first vet I saw wasn't very hands on with my dog and her approach with me rubbed me the wrong way. I requested to see a different vet for the next appointment, and saw Dr. Corpuz who I liked much better. She was genuine and I liked her interactions with my dog. From then on my experience there was good and all my dog's medical issues were treated appropriately. PROS: Extremely convenient location which is why I chose them. Easy to get an appointment with. Adequate medical care. Friendly staff. CONS: Wait time can be way too long. I almost had to leave without seeing a doctor once because I had another appointment. Not the "neighborhood" veterinarian who remembers you and all of your pets. read more

These people are capable of caring for your pet but seem to have financial motivation and as a result care is out of reach for many. Staff is friendly and office clean. My dog needed dental extractions and I was quoted a price of over 1500 dollars. They expect immediate payment and will not work with you even if your an established client. I took my dog to a different vet and the same dental procedure cost me $400 and the vet could not believe the sky high price I was quoted. Also my pet was prescribed prednisone and we were just handed a bottle of pills saying to give one at intervals. An emergency call a day later to an emergency vet during off hours, we were told that you must slowly take a pet off of prednisone or they can get very ill and they wanted to know why the vet did not instruct us. When we called them to mention this it was dismissed. If you want great care at a great price there are many better options. read more

Wellness exam was booked the same day for my dog, and the staff was fantastic. Everybody was super welcoming and nice to me and my boy, even if he is a little excited around new people/places. Called to book an appointment to have him neutered; they remembered my dog's name without me saying anything, and got me in the next morning. Called me as soon as he was done to tell me how he did and took great care of him! Everything was explained thoroughly, fees were broke down, wasn't pressured in to anything. Received a phone call the day after his procedure just to check in on him; little things go a long way here. Overall, extremely pleasant staff, clean, and they kept my dog comfortable and welcomed us both with open arms. No idea how this place has the low rating that it does. We just moved out of state and will miss the caring staff at Lakeside. They always greeted us and our dogs by name and had treats handy. Was always well informed by the vet and felt like we were presented with all the options for treatment/tests that our puppadawgs needed. They also provided bath/board packages where we were able to drop them off in the morning on our way to work and to pick them up on the way home freshly cleaned and relaxed. Saw no sign of the price gouging reported by others, they were actually a few thousand dollars cheaper than other vets when our labradane needed surgery. read more

I was in the lobby waiting to get me dog flea and heart prevention, there was 3 girls behind the desk. One blonde hair girl kinda young and two others one with long dark hair very long and the other had her hair up in the back doing something at another desk. The young blonde was checking out a person while the phone is just ringing and the dark hair girl just stands there talking with people and laughing with people. The blonde hair girl ask the girl at the back desk if she can check for this medicine while she picks up the phone just to be told by the dark hair girl very loud I might add to the blonde " no do it yourself while i take the call". The blonde already picked up the phone just to put them on hold so now the girl with the dark hair can look like she is helping while pointing at the blonde. Even the other girl in the back looked shocked I was and couldn't believe it. When the girl with blonde hair came back out I asked her if she was okay, she smiled and said it was just a miscommunication. In no way was that that girl was rude and wrong to do that to her with a room full of people. I will say that blonde girl has to love her job to stay after that being embarrassed that way. She asked a question and got that response I might think next time on asking anything from some of them at the desk again. Unnecessary and unprofessional I didn't say anything to a doctor or some supervisor that day but I slept on it and I think I should for nothing but for that blonde girl I really feel bad just seeing and it's pulling at my heart. read more

I decided to try this vet out because it was convenient and received good reviews on Facebook. However, I will NOT be returning. As the previous reviewer stated, the staff is friendly, but that's about as far as it goes. The technicians and front desk employees did not seem very knowledgeable or experienced. I understand it takes time to gain experience, but I just left feeling dissatisfied about the quality of care. Regarding my appointment, I waited over an hour past my appointment time to be seen by the vet. When the vet did come in, the exam was brief and not extensive at all. No ear check, no eye check, no skin check, no listening to a heartbeat, etc. No thorough exam whatsoever. In addition, they are not clear about the charges for tests and vaccines prior to performing them. I am used to other vets clearly stating the cost of each test/vaccine up front, before doing anything. Not so here. This vet also charged me $20 per dose of flea & tick prevention, which I felt was pretty ridiculous. All in all, I was not impressed and will not be using this vet in the future. read more

This animal hospital gets the job done, but it isn't stellar. The staff is nice but the business is hitting some hiccups in the initial months. They are having a hard time staying on schedule and the techs seem inexperienced and not on the same page as the vets. The vets here seem to run their show on the ultra conservative side of things so you get a lot of extra tests and charges "to be on the safe side." Just a little too "worst case scenario" for my taste. They price a lot of things in a la carte style which aren't cheap and they don't hesitate to "recommend" extra charges. In my book, they should be packaging services like spay/neuter with what they as vets feel comfortable with. If there is an additional charge that they "recommend," why isn't it something they require? Ethically, just wonder why if they think there is a proper way to do things they don't actually offer them that way to their clients. I came to this Vet office because its relatively close to my house. They had great reviews, so I decided to try it. The staff is nice, the office is clean, but that's about it. A few minutes after I entered the building, the tech got my dogs weight and then we were put in the room. I could hear people laughing in the back room. Almost 40 minutes later, the doctor finally comes in. Most vets that I have seen are very outgoing and cheerful, especially to the pets. She hardly said anything to me or my dog. Normally most vets try to make the dog comfortable by talking to them and petting them. Not the case here. The doctor seemed very very conservative and quiet. She almost looked afraid of my dog. Hes a 90lb lab big in size, but hes a lab. The doctor did ask me some questions, but like another review said, she didn't even do anything. She didn't look at his mouth, eyes, palpate him much. At the end of the visit she put her stethoscope on him to listen to his heart, but that's it. My pet was to receive vaccinations she didn't even do it. I waited another 20 minutes for a tech to do it. The tech also took his blood she missed the vein 3 times. Not impressed with the quality of service here. Will be looking for some place else. Sometimes convenience is not the best choice. read more
