The office is really clean, smells good, and everyone there is so friendly and patient. Before they started, Dr. YongTae Park explained everything clearly, including what he would and wouldn't do based on how her molar looked. Since my sister was pretty nervous, both Dr. Park and his assistant were super sweet about checking in on her to make sure she was okay. I ended having to wait back out in the lobby while they started in the back. They began around 10 AM, and we were out by 11:20 AM. Of course, every case is different depending on how bad it is, but everything went smoothly. My sister said she LOVES it here! If they took my insurance, I'd totally come here too. I highly recommend them!

I was on the hunt for a new dentist, after being out of health benefits for the past 9 months or so and my last cleaning was little over a year ago. I managed to find this place and compared Google and Yelp reviews- and it didn't disappoint! The fact that they reserve emergency and new patient appts in their schedule is big time! Other places I had chatted with, either couldn't get me in until months from now, or I had to wait a few weeks. I was able to get in immediately! Staff is friendly, polite, and does their job well. I was shuffled around from person to person for different stages of my new patient appts, X-rays, and the exam, but the transitions were seamless and I felt comfortable. I didn't get upsold on tons of things like read at other places' reviews and had a pleasant cleaning! They made sure to go through everything with me, from start to finish, step by step, and even the specifics of the laser deep clean I opted in for (which costed me $130). Check out was easy and simple enough, they take Apple Pay. Only downside is it took a little bit of time, and I felt like I was waiting for not many patients I saw being seen. It was about a 1:45 hour appt from start to finish. That's also on me for not asking how long these appts usually run. Note- I do have great teeth, no cavities, no major dental problems.

I was quoted $15,500 for upper veneers and was specifically promised accommodations to make the procedure manageable for me, including medication the night before, additional medication at the office, and laughing gas before any injections. The morning of my appointment, after mentally preparing myself and following through with the plan we discussed, I was informed they were out of laughing gas and had no idea when it would be available. For a patient with serious dental anxiety, this was not a small inconvenience -- it was the entire reason I felt comfortable moving forward in the first place. Because the agreed-upon accommodations were no longer available, I had no choice but to cancel the procedure. While I did receive a refund, the way the situation was handled afterward felt dismissive and unprofessional. For a practice charging premium cosmetic dentistry prices, I expected far better communication, preparation, and compassion toward a patient placing that much trust in them. If you struggle with dental anxiety, I would strongly recommend confirming every promised accommodation beforehand and considering whether this office is equipped to properly support fearful patients

I went here looking for a standard cleaning as I intended to use my last month of company insurance…read moreI had access to. I was hoping to receive a normal examination (X-ray) and cleaning and signed written consent forms for exactly this and confirmed with the receptionist that it would all be covered IN FULL by my insurance. After the X-rays were taken I was informed I had "extensive" tartar buildup, a wisdom tooth that was growing sideways and some major cavities. All of this advice is fine, as I have been informed about these same cavities and conditions for many years with a prior dentist with no actual progression in decay despite its severity. Then without my written consent for a deep cleaning, the doctor applied local gel based anesthetic and did a "deep cleaning" on all of my teeth for a total of 25-30 minutes. It was the most painful cleaning I have ever experienced, and that too with local anesthetic applied. What this dentist does not know is that the longest period of time I have not seen a dentist is 4 years. After which I had gone to another dentist in Folsom with actual severe, deep tartar deposits far more extensive than what I came in with for this dentist. I have never had a "deep cleaning" until this dentist. The cleaning my previous dentist did with far more severe tartar, along with X-rays and examination was effectively the same procedure (scaling and polishing) which was billed as a standard cleaning (as expected) and I did not pay a single cent, due to my insurance, AS EXPECTED. I left the "deep cleaning" with the receptionist now telling me that I didn't get a standard cleaning and I got a deep cleaning which would require $142.60 out of pocket DESPITE HAVING INSURANCE (conveniently covered with only 80% by my insurance, but also a considerably more expensive procedure). While I understand dentists need to do procedures in order to make their income, lying about procedures and stealing from your patients is unethical and possibly illegal. I will never return here for further dental services.

Well while moving camping spots in Pismo today, I had our electric drill and was raising up the stabilizing jacks. And wam! The drill got caught and swung around and clocked me in the jaw! It chipped my canine tooth and was so rough. Oh great! So being from out of town I called my Cigna dental and got a list of providers here in Folsom who might fit me in today. We were going to be staying here for one night with family before we leave tomorrow. I called Dr Shah's office and they #1 fit me in #2 were flexible on my arrival knowing we were pulling a Trailer and had a 6.5 hour drive here. They fit me in at 4pm. Wow! Dr Shah met me, went over the options and We decided to do a filling of the tooth where it was gone and then file it do it wasn't jagged. She even filed the teeth next to the tooth to make them look nice also! What service! I wish I had her in Dana Point! Her office staff, Heather was also so accommodating! As an Emergency Room Nurse we always say, "Accidents are predictable and preventable"! Next time I'm keeping my jaw away from the drill and slowing it down at the end! Lol. Good outcome tho, and we will be off to Yellowstone tomorrow without delay! Thank You Dr Shah!,

While I did not want to take my frustrations out on the staff member I spoke to yesterday, I think…read moreit's important to share my negative experience with this dental practice. While I always received good care once I was in the room, I was disappointed that I never had the same dentist. I feel I have had a different dentist every single time I have had an appointment which was challenging to build a rapport or history besides just notes in my account. However, my bigger issue is accountability for when they make the errors. The first issue was last year when I was scheduled by a dental hygienist to be booked six months out and they made the appointment two weeks too early. When I came into the appointment, I was told I would owe due to it being too early and was confused but paid and said I would take it up with my insurance to see if they would make an exception. My dental insurance has always been amazing and shared that they would cover it if the dental office sent an appeal sharing that they wanted me to come back earlier than 6 months since that was their recommendation. I have followed up with this dental office for the past year and a half asking for updates and each time they assured me they took care of everything on their side. Low and behold, I finally call MetLife yesterday to follow up with them because I wanted to change the dental office (for another reason I will list below) and just wanted to finalize this appeal so there was no missing links left to tie me to this dental practice. The representative on the line informed me that they JUST received the appeal two days prior from the office manager, and there are zero other appeals or attempted contacts by this dental practice so for that reason, they declined my appeal. I was lied to for the past year and a half that they were working on submitting this appeal and each time I checked, and it was a lie. The last straw was, I had recently changed insurance and called to update it with the front desk. I have it in writing that although my insurance is out of network that my insurance would still cover 100% of my appointment with the exception of the fluoride that I typically pay out-of-pocket for. With this information I move forward with the appointment and received the routine services. A few weeks later I received a bill for $189 because they claimed my insurance did not cover 100% of the services. Confused I called my insurance and asked them why it was not covered because the front office staff told me it would be and they shared that due to me being out of network they would only cover 100% of the cost UP TO a certain amount. They said they made that perfectly clear to the front office staff and we're not sure how she got confused. When I followed up with the front office staff and explained to them that I was told this was going to be covered fully, and if I would have known that I was going to have to pay out-of-pocket, I would have gone somewhere else that was within network, they said because they do not guarantee how much insurance will pay that I am still required to pay the balance. When I grew quite frustrated with the lack of accountability for not only one but two errors on their part where I had to pay out-of-pocket for services that would've been covered 100% with my insurance, they offered to take off the cleaning cost and left me with a balance of $114. While I can appreciate some wiggle room, the new knowledge that they did not submit the appeal, which would have covered that initial cleaning last year, seems like too little of an apology when again these mistakes were on them. At the end of the day, I just wanted to be finished with this dental office because I was so frustrated by the lies and lack of accountability. I decided to post this review because I did not want to take my frustrations out on the staff member that I was speaking with, but I still think there could have been more done to provide a better solution to avoid this negative review.
