To preface this, i had a tooth fall out in the middle of the night and immediately started panicking about sepsis, dry socket, the works. Something like that can be terrifying, particularly when you aren't familiar with the world of dentistry. After what I experienced, I believe that I can safely say with no hesitation, that this the Charles Dental Group is the most professional, no-nonsense, friendly, and overall welcoming, dentist in the area. They not only did my x-ray, but also did my tooth extraction procedure same day, and allowed my fiance into the exam/surgery room because I get nervous being alone at the dentist. Pricing may vary depending on your insurance, but we paid a fraction of what other places were trying to charge us for a simple tooth extraction, and that's no exaggeration. I'm going to refer my fiance here, I'm going to refer my father here, I'm going to refer friends here. Everyone should know this place exists, and I think it's a shame that it might be difficult for someone to find with the location. Overall 10/10! Both of my daughters and myself have been going g there. Service is ok.. we have to wait too long to see dentist. But .. This last experience is leaving me to write this. They just sent me a bill in the mail. No explanation. So.. I call the office and they rudely explained my daughter's last cleaning wasn't covered. I have delta dental insurance for years. I've never had to pay for cleanings. She said that my daughter had used up her coverage for a tooth being pulled. I would have never scheduled the cleaning if I was to be billed for it! Duhhh!! I've never had a dental office not look out for you and let you know ahead of time what you are being billed for! So, the office then prints out the fine print of their policy and highlights where I'm liable. Who has time to read The fine print of these policies! I'm a busy full time working mom! I've never had an office do this! I would think the office should use their time to be PROACTIVE ABOUT their clients needs and not waste time printing out policies and highlighting things to send out in the mail. My experience at Charles Dental Group was awesome to say the least. All the staff I dealt with while I was there were all very friendly and helpful. I went in to have 2 molars extracted. Because of Covid-19 virus they took all the extra necessary precautions to make sure everyone is as safe as possible. Dr. Salvatierra did the procedure and It was a great experience. He walked me through the whole procedure while he was doing it and explained to me what exactly he was doing the whole time. Dr. Moser was my Dentist for Twenty years and he is the Best. He is very gentle and caring for your comfort. He always made me feel like a part of his extended family. My Son still lives in Sacramento and we wanted to schedule our visits with him around our dentist appointments. While on a visit 18 months ago, a crown broke and I was able to get into see Dr. Moser. Nice people on the surface but TERRIBLE dentists. Too bad you can't put ZERO stars! My experience is with Dr. Salvatierra. I had severe pain, which they took advantage of. I needed a root canal and a crown, which he provided. Absolutely HORRIBLE job. Within a few short months my pain returned as did an infection. After antibiotics ran their course I went in for a follow up - the pain was still there. He saw the issue but couldn't fix his own shotty work and referred me to a specialist. Now I had to have his work redone by someone else & pay for it all over again to this new "specialist"; which was even more expensive. Dr. Salvatierra didn't refund any of his terrible work or cover any of the rework the other specialist had to do. I saw my regular dentist for other check-ups in-between the issues with Dr. Salvatierra. They were taking very good x-rays that show Dr. Salvatierra's terrible work and the difference between his work & the work of the new "specialist". They compared Dr. Salvatierra's work to work they've seen in 3rd world countries. Pathetic & scary. Making it even worse, the crown he had placed, cracked within the year; ending up breaking off piece by piece, threatening the integrity of the root canal. I then had to go in to yet another dentist, pay yet again for work Dr. Salvatierra had done, and have all the pieces left from the cracked crown removed and a new crown put in. Everything Dr. Salvatierra had done, had to be redone by others. I ended up having to pay for it 3 times over due to his mistakes & terrible work. ** Update ** - Recently another attempt was made to make this right with this office. I was promised they would look into it again and get back with me. What did they actually do? Dr. Salvatierra HAS NOW BLOCKED ME on social media & no longer takes any contact from me. Just another sign this office is only interested in your money. STAY AWAY!!! They still, to this date: April 2020, have not made things right with my situation! read more

Finally after a few months of rescheduling and scheduling my ortho appointment with my dentist per their request I finally gave up and tried Charles Dental Group. I definitely was disappointed, first of when I made my appointment it took the office 3 tries to get it right, they kept saying my insurance was accepted but when I asked how much the consultation is the receptionist kept stuttering and saying um it should be free, yes and I think so! That should have already been the red light for me not to move forward, unfortunately I still did. I requested to the receptionist to please email me everything so to save time I can be prepared and fill everything out online, she didn't send me the new Pt paperwork and just some hippa stuff so once I arrived at my appointment at 11, she gives me the long new patient paperwork which took me 30 minutes to fill out, office was clean but only 1 very frustrated looking person at the front desk, very unorganized and kept pulling her mask down, stuttering, slow and had a hard time assisting patients. As she struggled to check me in now past 11:30ish, a nurse or whatever she was sat next to her trying to socialize, so she stops checking me in, and starts socializing. Now Im standing waiting over another 15 min, how frustrating!!! I work in the medical field as well, we email patients everything to save them time. That wasn't my case. Once I finally get called back, the hygienist I'm guessing, didn't even do any X-rays considering Im a new patient and looks in my mouth, felt my teeth and explains I need Invisiline, ok? So after about 15 minutes with her she tells me I'm some and see the receptionist again for pricing of the products. I'm thinking hm, no X-rays and just a $5,000 estimate for invisiline? Supposedly they said my Insurance will pay $175 of it. Wow!!! The receptionist throws in my face about the products and $5,000 and says you can apply for care credit. I had no issues paying the $5,000 but seemed bs to have insurance and pay $5,000. Also the receptionist just took certain people's temperature as she felt was necessary, weird place, bad experience, rushed service and felt I wouldn't be helped til I coughed up the dough!! Definitely not returning!!!! I dont like being rushed, and given very limited details, looking for another dentist. Never going back!!!!! read more

By the time my friend started calling dentist offices for an emergency appointment I knew I had waited too long. The pain was wretched. Every dentist we talked to was booked out at least two weeks and priced a couple hundred more then I could afford. Euthanasia began to seem a viable option. It was a huge suprise when Charles Dental Group receptionist said they had an opening for me that day. Said receptionist was professional & competent, imparting a state of calm which was the beginning of relief. When we arrived at Charles dental group the staff was curteous and efficient, with no time wasted on absurdities that seem par for the course in our technologically advanced lives. even the forms they gave me to fill out were short and to the point. The dentists at Charles never sit down or stop working. The assistants choreograph them from client to client expertly so that no second is wasted, and the doctors valuable skills are always being utilized to their fullest. The result is mercifully short wait times. Dr Salvatierra was wonderful. He is so casual and laid back he comes across like an old friend, a neighbor you used to barbecue and drink beer with him and his wife. Nicest guy ever! I immediately transformed from a scared, blubbering three year old to a completely pliant and trusting patient. The best way to describe his assistant... (why don't i remember her name??) ...an incarnation of mercy and sweetness, sent to comfort and ease the path of injured souls on earth. Dramatic? Yes... but so is the death of a tooth.
