He took basic measurements, we did the initial down payment, and they disappeared. If you months later after no contact I finally called to check on an update. I could get a hold of nobody. However after leaving a message I was contacted the next day to schedule installation. The installers came and started installing the windows. They complained about the people who had made the measurements because they were obviously not correct. The types of windows for a brick house was not correct and not what we told we were going to get. But they were already well into the installation. Refuse to sign the completion agreement, which would signal the other half of the financial agreement, until I talk to somebody about the problems with the windows themselves and the process thus far. Every time I talked or text to somebody they said they would move it up the chain and never heard anything. 2 days after the installers left we had a broken window. Had to have been over pressurized. We had to contact three different people, all contractors, before we got a window code to them and they said they would order a new one. They said it usually takes two to five weeks. At the 5-week mark I called to get a status update. The next day I was contacted about an installation they wanted to do the day after that. They obviously are not good at project management or their inventory as I should have been contacted when it came in to do the installation. Instead they only do it when they are poked and reminded. A few months later financing is trying to get the other half approved, and I have still not talked to anybody about any potential resolutions or options. So while the installers were awesome they were also subcontractors. Anybody who actually works for the company seems to be a ghost. I called her 800 number only to be sent to voicemail. I then got a text message saying that they missed my call. I sent three follow-up texts and got zero reply. I am still waiting to talk to somebody and resolve my problems. I do not encourage using this company in any way shape or form.

While I think they did a good job and I like their products, they were super expensive and I still had 14 more windows that needed to be replaced. In May of this year I started to seriously consider getting the rest replaced. Enter Alpine Exteriors. They provided the third bid and landed in the middle price wise. They were considerably less expensive than Champion (no surprise) and slightly more expensive than a no name company that came out selling cheap quality windows. But Alpine Exteriors quality, service, and selection really stood out. I met with the owner, Hiram Molloy, at my home and there was zero sales pressure and no games. He has access to a number of different windows at all different price points, so he was able to find something in my budget and a quality I was happy with. They were installed a couple weeks ago and that was the real test. I'm pretty OCD and I want perfection. I'm never fully satisfied because that would be impossible, but the installers did a nice job. They were friendly and detail oriented. I asked a lot of questions and spent a fair amount of time watching the install and they were courteous and obviously knew what they were doing. They also cleaned up the mess and used preventative measures around my furniture to keep the mess at a minimum. Upon final cleanup they collected all the stickers from the windows and placed them on copy paper so I could apply for the rebate. Hiram followed through on his promise and mailed me all the rebate paperwork with instructions. If you are looking for a quality window company that offers a competitive price and does what they say they are going to do, look no further than Alpine Exteriors.
