I've been bringing my two dogs to this clinic for about four years now, and until recently, I've always had a positive experience. My dog was prescribed medication on Friday. By that night, she began having a severe reaction - constant vomiting and diarrhea every 30 minutes. She finally started feeling better by Monday morning. I called Main St first thing (at 7:30 a.m.) on Monday and explained the situation to the front desk. I told them that my dog was now stable but that I wanted to speak with the prescribing doctor about an alternative medication, which we had already discussed at my appointment. The front desk insisted that I had to make a new appointment. I explained that due to my wife's and my work schedules, we couldn't make the only appointment time offered. I asked if we could be seen the following day or if the doctor could give me a call back. The front desk was rude and told me they didn't have any appointments. Front desk told me I'd need to find another vet with availability. This really upset me, and I told them that if I had to go to another vet, I'd be transferring permanently. The front desk didn't seem to care. I ended up scheduling with another vet the next day and called back shortly after to request my dog's records. When I asked to have them transferred, the front desk hung up on me. This was absolutely unacceptable and a clear example of terrible customer service by the front desk on 11/3/25. I will not be returning due to how I was treated -- though I want to make it clear that the veterinarians themselves have always been excellent.

There are times you won't want to hear what he has to say, but that is because he will not drag you down an unrealistic rabbit hole that drains your piggy bank. He is humble and has no problem referring you somewhere else if what your pet needs is beyond his expertise. We use him for most minor surgeries, spay, neuter, exams, vaccinations, etc. For our OFA X-Rays, we use Dr Minor in Templeton as he has the most up to date machines. For weekend or after hours emergency service, we go to Atascadero Pet Hospital. Otherwise, during normal business hours, Dr Aarons can handle most situations.

Missy's ear infection was treated right away and she had a spa type "Peticure," surprisingly at no extra charge. I've been charged $35 for a nail trim at another office. BIGGEST SURPRISE - The Bill! Missy and I are new Fans of Dr. Aarons. His rates for dental care for my 10 year old MinPin is going to be very reasonable compared to the quote from the two other Veterinarian offices. He also had a sore on his hind leg that concerned me which is mainly the reason I made the appointment initially. After my poor geriatric dog was there all day I received a curt, and rude voicemail demanding I return his call from someone name Dr. Konrad. When we spoke he talked to me as if I was a child. Said the dog needed antibiotics and that the sore most likely needed to be opened and drained. When I asked if that meant putting the "under" and giving IV Antibiotics or just oral medications ... he gave me the definition of "oral". what a jackass. When I finally picked up the dog, not only was an annual exam NOT completed... neither were any vaccines. Any questions I asked the Dr at pickup were answered with "I don't know" he couldn't tell me what the sore was: an abscess, or something deeper and offered no course of action other than "call us in 2 weeks" THATS WHY I BROUGHT HIM IN!!! I'll never return after being spoken to this way and seeing my dog handled the way he was. They lost a loyal customer with many animals.

Years ago, in another city, a vet over-anesthetized my Siamese during a dental cleaning . Another tragedy followed an anesthetic-free cleaning procedure on another cat. Since then I have used Hills Feline TD and other natural dental cleaning devices in order to avoid dental work on any of my cats. It was time for my six cats to have dental work I explained to Dr. O about my past experiences and how frightened I was to let any vet anesthetize them and clean their teeth for fear of killing them. Dr. O patiently listened to my stories and then proceeded to take me step-by-step through the procedure he uses, assuring me that he would be on-hand to monitor the procedures. Two by two I took my cats to his office and they came through it just fine. Each cat had a different response to the anesthesia, but they are fine and I am relieved. I can't thank Dr. O, Amy, Heidi, and Lindsey enough for their help and patience through these cleanings. The doctor did a great job and we always feel our dog is well taken care of here. They are good about keeping us reminded about upcoming vaccines and check-ups.
