We found Janice on Yelp on a last-minute trip to Paso Robles. Our three dogs needed a daycare for a few hours where we could drop-off and pickup after our event. Ahead of our trip to Molokai and Maui, we were in need of a pet sitter for the cats and an older dog. Is contacted Vineyards Kennels to possibly put the dog there for 10 days but she didn't do well there in the past. So my search brought me to Yelp and local sitters. Janice was my second call and the first to answer. I explained what we needed and she gave me her price. I explained a bit more and her price remained unchanged at $25/visit (30 minutes). We had a meet and greet with her at the house, trying to introduce her to the cats and dog needing her attention. She took notes about each animal as well as their dietary needs and where they got fed. E got a great vibe from her, so I wrote up notes for each animal and left all she needed on the dining room tableaux she did the rest. She text us ahead of each visit, taking some pictures of the animals and texting when she left. She was also kind enough to bring in those Amazon packages too! Will we use her again? ABSOLUTELY! Working remotely and with a young puppy (I.e., probably too much "together time" for either of our own good), there are moments where I am not sure if the dog has separation anxiety, or I do. Whether it's A, B, or a little bit of both, Janice has been such a help, and the dog and I both think that she's fantastic. My husband and I have left him with her for everything from a quick date night out where we didn't want to worry about him getting into trouble, a full day to attend an event, and recently even a couple of nights at a time so that we could get out of dodge, and in every instance, she has been communicative and responsive, kind and empathetic to pup and people alike, and has taken great care of our good boy. She sends regular photo and video updates, which is above and beyond wonderful of her. As other reviewers have shared, Janice's home is very safe and fully dog-proofed, with a big grassy, shady, fully fenced in yard full of tennis balls for energetic pups to enjoy chasing. Inside, she has cozy, comfy couches that her own sweet senior rescue dogs are often happily snuggled up on. She has explained on my visits how she strategizes and separates dogs where needed to make sure that everyone is as safe and happy as they can be (using gates in areas of her yard so that they can enjoy their own space while still roaming around and playing freely, never kennels). The thing that really makes Janice's business so special is how much interaction, supervision, and care the dogs get-- it's a really amazing alternative to a typical kennel situation. When I shared before his first overnight stay that our dog is finicky about eating in the morning, she took the initiative to experiment and make it a fun game for him by using a ball (his favorite toy) shaped food puzzle to feed him, which was creative and just really kind of her to try for him. Our pup's reaction says it all-- when we approach her house, he just can't wait to lead me up the driveway so that he can say hi and go play with friends, and on our recent visits, he has practically flown up into her arms to say hi, tail going crazy with goofy puppy joy. Janice watched our dogs while we did wine tasting in Paso during Valentines week-end 2021. She let us visit her home/facility and meet her dogs. This is to make us feel comfortable since we don't know her at all and we were leaving her with our precious cargo including all of our personal belongings while we left to go wine tasting! She came to our House rental on a Saturday and watched 3 Frenchies and 1 Lab mix. It was great! She is honest and trustworthy and we left her at the house all day for 8 hours with our dogs. Her service is legit and she's normal and not weird. Some dog sitters can be a little odd sometimes but Janice was very nice, friendly and the dogs loved her. We attended a wedding in Paso Robles a few weeks ago and needed a pet sitter for our pup, Kona. We are so lucky we found Janice on Yelp.
