Our school bus was towed by this company, during which they removed the driveshaft to prepare it for transport. While disconnecting the driveshaft is standard practice to protect the transmission, their driver completely failed to secure it to the vehicle. During transport, the unsecured driveshaft flew off the bus onto the road and was completely lost. This is not only gross negligence that caused immediate, expensive mechanical damage to our vehicle, but it was also an incredibly severe safety hazard to every other driver on the road. A heavy-duty driveshaft breaking loose at highway speeds could have easily caused a fatal multi-car pileup. When we contacted them about their mistake, they ignored me. Absolutely unprofessional and dangerously negligent. We will be pursuing a formal commercial insurance claim and reporting this to local authorities. Very disappointing experience. We were quoted a $250 call-out fee plus $170/hour with a 3-hour minimum. The mechanic arrived after nearly 3 hours and spent only about 30 minutes diagnosing the issue, stating that the liftgate motor needed replacement. Despite this, we were charged $1,187.59 which was clearly presented as a deposit on the invoice, but later we were told it was the total charge for the visit and diagnosis. The pricing and communication were misleading and it felt like unnecessary delays were used to increase the bill. I would not recommend using this company and suggest others get everything in writing before agreeing to service. read more

These guys are thief's. They have you pay before providing the service. We hired them for a forced regen, they get onsite and demand money, we pay. Then their computer doesn't work and they can't help us. We paid $900 for no service. They pass you around for kid to kid and have zero customer service. AVOID this company at all cost. We requested a tow from Lakeville towing. We wanted to move my sons car down to a local mechanic shop. As the driver started loading the vehicle onto the flatbed, the hydraulic system proceeded to overflow onto my driveway. Their response was to put speedy dry on to the spill... I did not get charged for the tow, but nonetheless, there is a big dark stain still on my driveway. read more

Never used them and definitely will never use them now! Tow truck driving like a maniac down Whisconier road in Brookfield! Flashing lights blaring horn tried to pass me about a dozen times regardless that it was raining and about 5 cars in front of me on a curvy winding road! He must have had to take a $hit or probably had to tow a wreck that probably would had gotten him a cool 300 bucks! So let's drive like an a$$hole and kill and few people in the process! Got into a verbal altercation with the owner of the company that came to pick up the car. A$$hole who is self absorbed who asked us not to film because he didn't want to be on camera. We have to film, cars being loaded or unloaded. Called his father to report this issue and he agreed that his son was a complete rude person, who was being innapropriate and unprofessional. Art was RUDE, MEAN, AGGRESSIVE, and immature. He threatened to leave us a review too even though we're the ones hiring him. Let's start by saying these guys should jot be allowed to operate as they blatantly strong-armed me into a repair that was 4x what it should have been...and did it all stone-faced while my operator that was there during the entire 14hrs said he overheard that they didn't even know what they were doing...and from what my shackles they "fabbed" and "welded" look like in the picture here, I'd say what my operator overheard was spot on. During the interaction, they took advantage rage that it was a need late at night, but they never even completed the job until the next afternoon... $1,400 for a $500 repair I've had done on other fleet trailers of mine many times and found by a certified welder 5 hours after leaving their facility that the welds are deemed not safe...I've emailed the business twice in the last three days and haven't heard anything. Do not use these guys even if they are the only 24/7 repair shop as that's how we ended up using them and from now on will always stick with well known national repair shops. Lakeville Towing - 5.5hrs labor and $200 in materials to weld this... - Towing Near Me - Brookfield, Connecticut

When the power steering gearbox on my truck exploded while plowing snow, I had to have the truck towed. My normal service shop was too far to tow economically, so I decided to give Lakeville Towing a shot at repairing the truck, since they were only a few miles down the road from me. They had the truck a total of four days. The owner kept referring to the gearbox as a power steering pump, and I reminded him those sell for about $80, not the $694 he was telling me. Seems like he didn't know what he was talking about. The office was rather cagey. They had the office closed off from the customers and there were several people lazing around doing very little, if any, work. When I finally got the truck back, I noticed that the steering wheel was turned 15° to the right when driving straight down the road. Lakeville said "it needs an alignment". My regular mechanic confirmed my suspicion: it was assembled with the column shaft turned by one spline tooth from where it should be. I'm not really confident about the quality of the part they installed. When I got home, I noticed one of the keys on my keyring that I'd given the shop to use, was broken off. The key was to my trailer hitch. The next day, I discovered that I could not unlock my toolbox on the back of the truck--something was jammed in the lock cylinder. Remembering the broken key, it became evident that an employee tried to get into my toolbox and jammed the wrong key in there, got it stuck, panicked and broke the key off to attempt to hide the fact that he was trying to get into the toolbox. I also found out that they had drilled out all of the rivets holding the lock assembly to the toolbox and replaced with old bolts. This was a major headache for me to deal with, as I could not find a replacement lock cylinder that fit, and replacing the whole assembly, I had to return that because the new lock was so cheaply made that the provided key did not fit. So I was stuck with a broken lock. My attempts to get a response from them fell on deaf ears. They did not compensate me for the damage to my toolbox lock, and they charged me almost $1700 for the tow + repairs to the steering system. I should have just used Grand Prix Motors to tow to my regular shop in New Fairfield like they recommended. Turns out, didn't save that much on the tow and the repair was outrageous with all the upcharges on the invoice. My advice is to avoid this shop. {AAA} HAD SENT LAKEVILLE TOWING when my car broke down on I-84 E. WHILE I had waited way too long to be towed, which was AAA's fault entirely I believe. Angel the tow truck driver, explained what he had thought to be issue w/ vehicle , as well as offering me towing to LAKEVILLE TOWING & SERVICE. Instead of a shop further away, which was one of AAA choices, That being said Angel was very nice, as well as Dispatcher for LAKEVILLE {CHRIS} & OWNER ANTHONY , ALL Explained work to be done & when it was completed & recommended other evidence of other work needed in near future. WOULD RATE 5 STARS however would like to S how everything holds up, also a little slow on getting back to me w/ estimates. ALL in all, the place LKs busy & they appear to fix almost every type of of vehicle, and specialize in tractor trailer repairs etc...SO ITS BEEN probably over a month since initial work was done by LAKEVILLE, Iexperienced the same with getting estimate on rear brake work that was needed, I had to call them back for estimate @ which time, was basically told , it would probably be best if I have rear brake work done elsewhere, had work done closer to where I live, FIRESTONE in DANBURY, job brake inspection , rear pads,& rotors, & 1 caliper removed replaced in probably 2 hours or so, SO IN CONCLUSION RATING for LAKEVILLE remains @ 4 STARS read more

What a nightmare! Had to call police to get in my my car and remove my valuables after it was towed there and their tow driver had recommended it. The tow driver was excellent, the place not so much! They said I was trespassing and that it was dangerous due to broken glass. There was no broken glass. Then they said they needed payment before I could remove my things. My insurance company had to get them on phone to tell them that was not correct. We had to call the police to get them to allow me to remove my things from the car. My rent a car place, as well as the police said " I would never bring my car here". Live and learn! read more

I called these guys @0530 in the morning I drove 4 hrs to get to my truck. The service truck went 1.5 hrs in the wrong direction! I was told 150.00 an hr 3 hrs was minimum plus 200.00 service call total was 650.00 service truck showed up with a 974.00 dollar bill!! He said it cost extra to bring tools out And needed paid before he started working on it. The guy got here at 1201 finished his paperwork at 1215 at 1255 he said the truck needed more work to run and if I wanted him to stay it would cost me additional money. Once I said no way I'd call a wrecker he didn't even say sorry no refund nothing he drove off while running over my triangles. He kept saying we get ripped off all the time out here by drivers. Stuck in a parking lot with an inoperative automatic transmission. Since it couldn't go into neutral it was difficult to get it into the flatbed. Their driver took GREAT CARE and several tools and devices to get it on and to the repair garage without harming the car. Pleasant, friendly, and informative. Next morning 8:15 I called to check on the towing truck didn't show up 15 mins late already I was told it will be there within 15 mins I said ok np Called back around 8:30 ish , was told that they are very busy ( knowing that I reserved the towing service the day before I should have the beriority ) and the truck will be there in 15-20 extra mins , I was pissed for the bad service and I said I'll call my insurance company see if there is another towing company who can send me another truck faster I did the call any my insurance company said there is few others but they will call lakeville and try to request a time frame , they did and it was an extra 30 mins !! I've spoken to the owner and the manager. The owner is a joke and his son that's the manager is just as bad. All they want is your money. After having one of my trucks breakdown we called for a tow, we asked for a quote and instead of a heads up they just went to tow our truck and handed me a bill for $1200.00. After this my driver spoke to my mechanic and explained what the issue was. We explained to the repair company we have the part we just need them to change it. Instead of him doing what we asked because it should of been a $200 job the repair shop changed parts that costed me $3,000.00 that weren't necessary. I knew this wasn't right and left them a review on google, obviously not a good one.... I received a call from them begging me to take it down and leave them a five star review and they will take care of us. After this it just got worse, the couldn't figure out the problem and took apart my truck without letting me know every time they touch my truck they charged me. Having to pay $1,200 for the tow because I had no choice, they handed me my final bill of $5,000! I had to pay them because they were threatening to keep my truck and not put it back together. Once I paid them, I had to get my truck repair at another shop once I picked it up because they couldn't fix it. I called around to see if their prices were accurate and they were extremely high.... once hearing this I called the police and they even explained they had many issues with this company and they aren't surprised I'm calling. Needed to have my van towed (3500 sprinter fully loaded). Long story two other guys showed up and couldn't do it. The guy who does the heavy duty towing showed up very quickly and got right to work. Managed to get my van turned the right way around,hooked, dropped the driveshaft (the right way to do this!!) and was moving within 20 mins! All on a single lane road without any hesitation at all. Quick and easy tow to a shop and he was on his way. Even went in and asked where to drop the van (most guys dump it and run). Would highly recommend this guy for all your heavy duty needs. We were expecting a reliable courteous service which we were paying for (not like it's a freebie!) they didn't reach out nor let us know they would be 45-1 hour late. Which should be standard when a tow is expected!) I called and got some totally TOTALLY unprofessional I don't even know what to call him- on the phone who informed me that "they aren't flying helicopters" (Thank god they aren't!) but that it was basically their g-d given right to be late, be nasty be totally unprofessional when they are in fact providing a service for US the customer! I had a very bad experience waiting for 2 hours and they never showed up. I had to take a uber home and a uber back to the destination to wait for tow truck the next day. I was told that it had to be after 8:00. I thought Geico offered 24/7 service. Dispatcher sounded like he was sleep once I called to see what the ETA was. He told me to give him an 1/2 hour. At that point, I wanted to say forget it, but I needed my car towed. It was left in the parking lot of McDonalds. This has nothing to do with the service Austin provided, who was very pleasant, but overall the experience was absolutely horrible. Very unprofessional and unreliable. read more

Great Service! Didn't know they worked on non-commercial vehicles until my brakes seized up in Shelton and Geico arranged for them to pick me up and bring me back to Danbury. I did wait a little longer than expected for the pickup, but they made up for it with a fantastic price and a quick turn-around. They were scheduled through my insurance to tow my car today at 10am. This was scheduled TWO DAYS AGO!!! It is currently 3:40pm!!!! I've made 4 phone calls to this shop so far. Each time they say "we'll be there soon". Last call 45 min ago they said they'll be here in 20 minutes. VERY unhappy. The insurance adjuster has been waiting on this vehicle to be at the shop (NOT the same shop as the tow company thank goodness) since 10am. And the shop I'm sending the car to will be closing soon. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. We went there today and needed the wiring for our hitch lights to be checked cause they weren't working when we hooked up a trailer we were renting. They sprayed some corrosion spray on it and said it was all fixed and charged us $85 for 5 minutes of work. AND THEN we went to get our trailer and the lights STILL didn't work!!! We went out and bought the right part that we needed and returned back EXPECTING them to fix it (since they didn't do it right the first time) which the did BUT then charged us ANOTHER $90!! My husband talked with them explaining that we shouldn't have to pay another $90 especially since they SAID it was all FIXED! And they said all they could do was take $10 off the $90 they were charging us the SECOND time!!!! This was pretty shady and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!!!! Terrible customer service. Had me waiting on the highway for hours with two different people telling me the tow truck was only 30 minutes away. Well 2.5 hours later I don't the truck was never in route. The manger/owner even had the nerve to call me to collect money over the phone claiming he needed it because he was leaving the shop. What? This place is open 24 hours. How about customers that call after hours? Very shady considering the tow truck was never even in route yet. Well I still paid and owner said the tow truck driver was 30 minutes away. 1.5 hours later I was still waiting with more excuses about traffic. I ended up canceling and telling them to forget about it. An hour later the tow truck driver called and said his truck died and he needed to swap it out with another one. Funny that manger or dispatcher never mentioned this (unless that was another lie). Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. Apparently they have more then one employees who thinks its okay to lie to their customers. I have to think any company in the surrounding area would give you better service then these guys. read more

the worst tow company ever! the boss was extremely rude and had the audacity to try to charge me (rob me) of another $50 once the car was back at my house. he said stuff like "go to the atm", "i have two more people waiting to be towed", after i had already paid them through my at&t roadside assistance feature over the phone 3 hours before edgar arrived. edgar, the hybrid specialist, was wishy washy at best. he did attempt to help me figure out what was wrong with my car and even gave a little anecdote about places taking advantage of his sister, he showed me a feature on my gear shift, and even offered to fix it if it wasnt a blown engine. but i became skeptical of him once he handed me the phone to argue with his boss about being held up for more money. edgar showed me the work order on his phone and in fact it was the same address of my home, where i was being bullied into paying more for services i had already paid for. the boss said to me at&t told them massapequa (i live in amityville, which is only 10 mins east) so when i asked the boss what address in massapequa because i had said billing, he says it doesnt matter, you owe me $50 more. when edgar takes the phone back, the boss tells him to put my car back on the truck and take it, luckily edgar knew the boss was wrong and did not take me car. edgar even admitted to his shop (lakeville towing) of taking advantage of women and their ignorance about cars. i now have to sleep next to the window with my phone on 9-1 just in case he decides to come around and take my car. never. again. shame on at&t for using that company! read more
