Very cute park with lots of amenities! Currently a library project is replacing the old pool and I am so excited for that to happen. Also, every weekday at 6pm, the local dog owners gather for a playdate, which is sooo cute and fun! Lots of friendly canine and human faces with lots of play. Perfect for my Aussie puppy and me to socialize with some folks who live in the area. read more

5 stars. No pic review. When I lived in Sunnyvale and when my boy was a preschooler, with 100% full custody yay single dads!, I brought him here for fun. Big gigantic park. So much space! Most the time we went to the playground and I supervise him. We also brought the razor scooter and I just supervise playing video games on the game boy? I forgot. My boy's quiet, smart and patient. Keeps to him self and minds his nerdy business. lol. I also ran here, handstand practice, lap practice, flag football practice, photography practice. With combined family's we are from a mixed cultural background; Latin Irish Japanese, Jap-xi-can- Irish Love. _Enso forever Park in the middle of a neighborhood. Many simultaneously happnin' groups using public space. Water rings. Grass. Sand. Space. Pros This is a park that works for all age-groups .. There's ample space for smaller groups to hang out during the pandemic including seating for mini picnics. This is a great park! Loys of shade! The trees cover most of the benches so it's perfect! They have a horse shoe pit (bring your own horse shoes) Lots of room for a volleyball next. There's two grills in the side we sat on. There's a pool, but right now it's empty... the park is good for kids, a playground too. There are a lot of caterpillars right now, they cover the playground lol. There are restrooms as well. read more

A nice clean park in Sunnyvale. This is more suitable for kids that still enjoys the swings and monkey bars. Although my daughter kept herself occupied, she was definitely not too entertained. But w/ kids nowadays.. fun in the sun is no match for media outlets but I still try regardless. When I was a kid, I would gladly put my Game Boy down to rollerskate / rollerbade at the park. I would still love to do the things that I never had a chance to do back then but the only thing that's changed is, my iPhone is a part of me. Lakewood Park is one of the favorite parks of my mommy group and mine so we meet here every so often and let our little ones play. They have toddler play equipment and older kid play equipment, both in an area that is mostly circled by a stone wall or a fence. The exit area of the toddler play ground is really close to the road so I wish it was gated, like some other park areas but, it's still pretty nice. There is sand, slides, swings, teeters, and a water park in the park itself. To the side, there is a skate park, picnic areas and fields. To the back are lighted tennis courts, a baseball field and lighted basketball courts. (If the lights go off on you while you're playing, just twist the timer back on. It's on the tall poles on the side of the court.) I'm really glad they turn the water in the water park off when weather is cold. My lil guy is always running up to it and trying to turn it on... even in 40 degree weather. haha I do wonder why we got one 'portal' plastic on the play ground replaced but the others are still yellowed and cracked. We came here from south San Jose (25 min drive) because we heard the water feature is on. It is, but unfortunately both sand areas, under the whole large playground is infested with wasps (our 4 year old was stung within 4 or 5 minutes of being here) and there is a homeless encampment at the shaded picnic benches. Generally the playground is not crowded (1030 in the summer) read more

Tried to go here for the water splash pad today. Was very disappointed that it was not working. The play structure at this park looks okay but there was a really bad smell by the play structure (like vomit and fish). The skate park looks interesting. And yes there are several tents in the far end, a little unhoused community. read more

I don't know how come living in this area for already 2 years I haven't seen this park before. I like to work out during my lunch breaks, even if a brisk walk, and therefore I am constantly looking for the next cool spot. Also to check out the barbecue areas and the grass and everything that could constitute a perfect scenario for the ideal picnic with friends. This park has everything you can expect of a great park. The trees are amazing, full, big, like they have years and years watching kids becoming adults there. I like the fact that there is a school nearby and sports facilities, looks very cozy even if so big. Together with the greenbelt nearby is a nice walking workout if you have a spare hour during the day. read more

I grew up in this area and remember the "old" Lakewood Park - which I thought was pretty cool. It had a moonscape theme which went along with the nearby Moffett Air Base. As the years went by, the park started looking a little tired. The playground equipment was deteriorating and the picnic area was constantly being used by homeless people. I must give credit to Sunnyvale to cleaning up the park. They've replaced all the worn out and old playground equipment with new and improved play structures. The amphitheater now is a skateboarders delight - a much safer place for them to be instead of having to perform their stunts in the street and having to dodge on coming traffic. The tennis courts are clean and maintained regularly. And the best part is the water atttraction where families can gather, kids can play and cool off at the same time! There is also a pubic pool (there wasn't one there when I was a kid - am I showing my age?) - which beats going over to Washington Park for a swim. I now take walks regularly through this park - I have good memories of the park while I was growing up and am still enjoying it now. read more

Lakewood park is a really nice spot to host a small or large party/BBQ. There are plenty of grills, benches, and tables. There's also a bathroom right next to everything so you don't have to walk far. There's tons of spots to play sports, run around, walk your dog, etc... I have two boys that love to skateboard and this is by far my favorite skate park.. not only does this park have a bunch of swings it has two play grounds, a water ring / tower? a large baseball/soccer field, bbq area and its really clean. I've been here many times because I have a friend who doesn't live to far from here.. I've been here for birthday parties, baby showers and just your regular hangouts. When I visit i don't see any bad crowds.. I love watching the skaters do tricks and practice and I love to see the small children ( mine included) run through the water rings in the summer it really looks fun. read more

Great for outdoor parties. Huge open grass area that serves well for badminton, football, soccer, and bocce ball. There are always musical events taking place toward the far end of the park. For my birthday party there was a salsa band! This is also a nice park just to walk through on a daily basis. Activities you may observe: - Lots of people walking their dogs. - Adults doing interesting calisthenic / running exercises around the open field. - What look to be little league games in baseball or soccer. - Fun little skate park where you can watch the latest tricks (or watch people eat it). - Homies chillin' (and most likely blazin') at the picnic tables in the back corner. All in all, a really sweet park that I enjoy visiting on a regular basis. I wouldn't recommend going here alone for a late night stroll though, it can get dark and a bit creepy after the sun has set. TIP: It can be really peaceful after dark, so I recommend going on a late night walk with your favorite group of friends. read more

Nothing like taking a walk or a quick jog in the outdoors! Surprisingly, Sunnyvale knows how to keep and maintain their parks! This one is massive, and the staff takes pride in keeping it clean-I should know, since I see them every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6AM picking up the trash! Complete with skate park, kiddie area-complete with water "entertainment" area, swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, baseball area, walking path, fire-pit perfect for smore making, and a large barbecue area complete with running water and plenty of tables. How is parking at this gem? Well, it's fairly accessible around the perimeter or behind the school. Seriously, this is one of those parks that I truly adore. Thanks to all the trees and slushy grass, this venue is perfect for an outdoor workout. Be warmed: wet grass + poop= BAD COMBINATION! Just ask Mary M. She has given me one of my favorite lines of the summer, straight from bootcamp. It's easy to appreciate this park. It's clean, it's free, and local residents frequent regularly. If you swing by Lakewood, make sure to bring a blanket, keep your dog on a leash-AND THEIR POOP IN THE TRASH, and explore what nature is lucky enough to provide you. It is not a suprise why this park would always have a gathering every weekend, no matter what the season is. The Lakewood Park is filled with a lot of things to do. Having lived at Lakehaven Subdivision for almost 3 years, Lakewood Park had been a usual brisk-walking park for me and every 4th of July, my family would be getting by the grills early to set up. This area gets very packed during holidays that if you don't get there early, you will run out of space. It is true what the earlier reviews say. This park has plenty of grills and a fountain nearby where kids -and adults- and splash around. I looked forward to this every summer when I lived here. This park is also perfect for dog walks and biking. Since the Lakewood Park is a part of the Lakewood Elementary school, the swimming pool has become a public swimming pool especially in the summer. They also offer swimming classes there. Neat! One of the most important qualities that I find important in a park is safety. I do not remember any incident in this park that made me question this. I have been in this park as late at 9 pm (evening walks) and so far I didn't see, feel or notice anything unusual. This park is well-lit at night. Lakewood Park has a volleyball mini-field with sand and net poles. It also has a tennis court and a big grass field. I used to fly kites here too, in the late Spring and in the summer. So many good memories in this park. Sigh. The trees are tall and there's a little gazebo in the middle, right on a little hill between the trees. Perfect for meditation or rest-in-between runs or walks. Not to forget a skate board ramp! This park is well-kept and well-maintained. Each park visit is always as refreshing as the last. My friends and I recently planned a surprise party at this park. I thought the park was pretty awesome, lots of shaded areas and plenty of space to grill. We were able to secure a few tables here (albeit, some friends had to camp out at 6:30am!) and got a nice patch of grass to play on. Pros: - Lots of space - Allows alcohol - VERY clean Cons: - PARKING!!! OMG I cannot emphasize this enough: parking sucks! There are very few parking spaces in the park so you are forced into the surrounding neighborhood. Hubby and I ended up parking about 2-3 blocks away. Overall though, I loved this place. Beautiful park. 2 awesome parks and 1 huge water park feature. Only negative is it's in a semi bad neighborhood and always seem to find razor blades near the garbage cans. It got so bad that when I go with my kids I make them wear shoes in the sand and in the water feature. Safety first!! I bring gloves to pick up trash and am always on the lookout for danger. I see lots of children playing unaccompanied by an adult and it really scares me. No excuse for not supervising children in public these days. Bathrooms are open from dawn to dusk. Bathrooms need better upkeeping and more security. The picnic tables are always crowded and taken by rowdy, rude "gangstas" who blast rap music obnoxiously loud. So we stay away from that side of the park. Overall mediocre park experience. Since the new park opened "seven seas" we have been going there instead. read more

I would have to say this park is going to be in my top five, mainly because of the grills, I think they clean the grills every day. Which is a really good thing. Also, if you reserve one of the grills you get a big section with a bunch of tables to eat at, not only that, they put a bunch of trees to surround the area so that you're always covered in shade. This park is great for those who are serious about their grilling. The grills they offer are awesome and they have PLENTY of space for everyone to sit. Nice big field in the back of the park and a playground on the other end of the picnic area. However, I did have a few issues with the park. First, I was watch in dismay as the ice cream truck guy parked right in front of the picnic area and worked his game on this lady with a bike. It almost looked like he was picking up on a prostitute. Second, it was a little crowded and not too much grass around the picnic area for people to throw the football or lay out. Third, the playground and large field was so far away from the picnic benches. If your kids wanted to play, it is definitely too far to allow them to go by themselves. Lastly, parking was somewhat of a pain. I did not see any major parking lots and street parking was scarce. Other tips: They are alcohol friendly, lots of shade, and the restrooms are kind of nasty (bring your own toilet paper). read more

This is a very nice park for our young kids. There is a playground area that is great for our 3 y.o and 1 y.o. The sets of climbing and slide structure, one mostly fibreglass good for smaller toddlers and one mostly steel that is good for older kids. There are also swings that our kids enjoy. Apart from the playground, there is a water park feature that kids can play around with but I think it works only in summer, which makes sense. It is free to use. There is also a skateboard area and sports area, although we do not use it, so cannot comment. I've seen many birthday parties held here and you can book the venue for your events. read more

Super pretty with really nice fields of grass, picnic areas, walking trails, playgrounds and dog friendly! There is even an extended, paved pathway that connects to the walking trails/bike trails beyond the park itself. Very serene atmosphere and seems like visitors are friendly. read more

This park is pretty clean with nice sand courts for volleyball, a little amphitheater style area for bon fires, and lots of benches and pits for parties. The bon fire area is something you don't see much at parks. So gather up the kiddies or friends and don't forget the firewood, sticks, graham crackers, hershey's chocolate bar, and marshmallows. Went to a company picnic here and it was great, there was a lot of open space and we had one of the tables reserved. I did like that there was a semi-clean bathroom nearby. I would totally bring a frisbee the next time I come out this way - there was an open grass area! read more

This is strictly a review about the basketball courts: One full court, open til about 10pm. Pretty decent courts. Kids mostly play there, they look like little high schoolers, but they're arite. Played with them a couple times for fun. Not many ballers out there, go to Fair Oaks, Washington or somewhere else. Other than that, it's a nice park. Tennis courts, pool, baseball field, and those tennis walls whatever they are. read more

I enjoy coming here on the weekends. Good for picnics and parties. Has 1 basketball court and 2 tennis courts. Plenty of parking all around. They are doing a lot of construction around the school but it shouldn't disturb your visit here. We live in this neighbor hood. Love this park. There isn't a lot of parking...but from watching people trying to park on the weekends I have a tip: just go a little farther away and walk. Seriously...walk a block. You'll find parking and won't hit anyone or someone's car in the process of trying to make 20 million u-turns. That's my beef...I know there isn't a lot of parking but people make it worse by being stubborn and maybe lazy and not parking and walking. You did come to a park right?? There is a small lot off Lakechime....but it's pretty small. We've seen so many almost accidents from people circling. One almost with a VTA bus. Seriously...just walk! The bathrooms are gross. Another tip...why not :) use the bathrooms by the sprinklers..the ones down by the picnic area are usually worse. I try to avoid the bathrooms. I know my son, 8, says the men's bathroom is so bad he refuses to use it. The playground is far from the picnic area...usually a lot of unsupervised kids here while their parents are at a party over in the picnic area. If you're looking for a relaxing park on the weekend this is not it. We usually avoid it until later when it's not so rowdy. read more
