Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban were the most familiar and each shared their personal stories of how Don has influenced their lives. John Foster, an American Idol winner, opened the night with Tulsa Time. The Isaac's were amazing and their harmonies unforgettable. We loved the relaxed feel of the event and and how respectful the audience was of the stories being shared. It was by far the most enjoyable concert I've ever attended, and I wasn't a country music lover prior. That is changing as a result and I bought a t-shirt to show it. We came early and parked at the mall where we had dinner. This allowed us to walk to the Opry afterwards. There are lots of stairs which I think would be challenging for someone who struggles with walking.

While shows are still going and people are still being inducted and asked to join the family of greatness. Tears or joy are found as you hear the passion and feel the greatness. Walking through the halls, through the rooms, through the stage!!!! Where you get to take a picture on the stage itself.... Just an experience as a musician myself, would say anyone would appreciate. Such an honor to walk the stage many future greats will be walk. Grateful for all the work that exists to preserve this history.

If you're looking for actual instruction for a young child, try the Hendersonville Music Academy or…read moreprivate in-home lessons; either would be a better option than this scam of a place. First, if your kid is 6-7, you HAVE to sign them up for the Rookies class alongside private lessons, which costs $150 per month. When we initially enrolled, it sounded like a music theory class, exposing kids to different instruments, getting a feel for them, etc. That sounds great, but it's not actually teaching much of anything. Most of the time, it's just noise. There's supposed to be a "song of the month" that the kids in the class "learn," and at the end of the month, they play the song for their grownups. Not only did not this NOT happen for April through August that we were enrolled, but when they finally remembered they were supposed to be doing it in September and October, it was basically watching the kids sit around and hold their instruments while the song played very loudly. Only then does your kid get to take their private lesson, which was all we really wanted in the first place, so instead of paying $100 for a weekly 45-minute lesson on the instrument she actually wanted to learn, we spent all that money for an hour-long Rookies class that was a total waste. The private lessons aren't any better. In almost 7 months of 45-minute lessons, my kid spent more time coloring than learning how to play piano. She can't play a single song, and my kid is pretty good at picking up skills when she and an instructor are focusing on the skill itself. This is due in part to the SOR franchise's "song-first" method of teaching, where they let students pick a song they want to learn and then try to teach that song. The problems with this method are many: A) my kid is six, she's never played piano before, and needs to learn the most basic of basics first, which they hardly touch upon; B) her favorite song right now is "Jolene." Great song, but not a great first song to learn on the piano for a total beginner; and C) the instructors were constantly stepping in and out of the private lesson room whenever it suited them, talking to parents of other kids, coming up to the front desk, etc. Why are we paying $100 a month for instructors to sit there and ask my kid what she wants to learn, instead of showing her beginner piano? Why are we paying $100 a month for instructors to leave the room to talk to another parent for 10 of her 45 minutes to them how their kid did in your previous class? Why is the instructor wasting time drawing pictures of Bluey for my kid to color instead of going over how to read notes? I'm sure the instructors are very talented musicians, but not everyone who is good at a skill is a good teacher. Then there were the schedule problems, meaning you're never allowed to miss a class and there's no refunds for anything, no prorated rates for months where you might not have as many lessons. We were about to miss a lesson/Rookies class the day of, due to a family emergency, and when we called the school the same morning to reschedule, the front desk staff told us that we should have given 24 hours notice, and that there were no makeups available. That would've been understandable if it weren't for the multiple times the front desk staff called or texted us last minute to say they had no instructor for a class and could we reschedule the lesson? This was super inconvenient, as we scheduled Saturday classes because that was what worked for our family, and having to shuffle around our weekday schedule to attend make-up lessons wasn't great. But no refunds, even if it was the school's responsibility, as their instructors were ALWAYS getting sick (not their fault, but it's not ours either that they can't keep their school staffed). The final nail in the coffin - I let the staff know as soon as we knew that we needed to unenroll due to a change in our family's schedule and that our last class would be at the end of the month. I was told that they needed 30 days' notice to cancel, which is not a company-wide policy, but the only reason we were informing them so late (the 11th of the month) was because they rescheduled our regular classes again anyway! I made it abundantly clear that we would not pay for an additional month in which we would not be attending classes, and that if they tried to charge us, we would dispute it. Thankfully they didn't bother and sent us a confirmation (the day before our last class) that we would be unenrolled at the end of the month. If you're looking for an hour-long class for your kid to goof off in and have fun being around instruments, but not actually play them, sign up for the Rookies class. Unless your kid is older, don't bother with private lessons - they won't learn anything.

We have been watching the Mike Huckabee Show for over a year and we were very excited that we were…read moreable to get free tickets to see a live taping. When we arrived we were able to get a decent parking spot and we joined the preshow line up to enter the building. We were welcomed by several ushers outside offering Mom assistance if needed, since she uses a walker. We waited in line and slowly snaked through the que leading to security where we went through medal detectors. Everyone was very friendly, even the police officers work i.l ng security. Once we made it through the line we checked in and recieved our seating Assignment. The waiting area had a few tables with snacks and bottled waters as well as a table with coffee and tea to enjoy prior to entering the theater. When it was time to enter the theater we were given special filming instructions and then we were off to be seated. We were so excited to see that we would be front row near the band side of the stage. I cant get over how friendly everyone was. The filming took a little more than an hour and to make it even better, because it was my birthday I was given a Huckabee coffee mug! Mom also caught a tshirt in between filming. After the show we were able to get them autographed and got to speak with Governor Huckabee! If given the opportunity to go again, we would or to go and enjoy other shows that they offer as well!

Fantastic experience! I was one of the fortunate ones to have been invited to enjoy the VIP Cavalia…read moreexperience thanks to being a Yelp Elite! The VIP experience included: 1. Full buffet prior to the show for 1.5 hours which consisted of smoked salmon, grilled chicken, fried rice, prime rib, pasta salad, kale salad, shrimp cocktail, couscous, hummus, etc - Foodwise I was pretty underwhelmed. Everything tasted alright but nothing made me want to go back for seconds. It was definitely all filler to soak up for alcohol. 2. Open bar with champagne, wine, beers, and juices - I readily helped myself to multiple glasses of their red and white wine (one selection each). The bartenders were heavy with the pours and very friendly. Be generous with the tips, folks! They take care of you! You're also welcome to take your drinks in to the show which my boyfriend and I took full advantage of. 3."Kid's Corner" - I saw pepperoni and cheese pizza. Heard there were also sliders and mini hot dogs but I never saw any. My boyfriend loved the pizza. Hah. 4. Free parking! - It's a gravel lot and usually costs $20. The interior of my car is absolutely ruined from all the dust and sand that came in from this but it was worth it. I've been needing to get my car cleaned anyways. I would recommend getting rug covers though if you don't want to have to clean your rugs the next day. 5. Dessert hour during intermission - I'm not a big sweets person, but my boyfriend really enjoyed the cookies. There were also an array of cakes. I loved the fruits (watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew). 6. Free popcorn! - Self explanatory. Freshly popped from one of those movie-theater popcorn machines. So good! 7. VIP-only restrooms - I don't recall seeing a ton of people here so it felt like it was exclusive to those who were in VIP. Clean and way better than portapotties. 8. Meet and greet with the performers - Two of the performers came into the VIP tent after the show to sign our book. Really nice guys! 9. Access to the mainstage, stables and training area - I think I missed the actual group tour and just ended up stumbling into the stables area. Loved seeing the horses up close. Some were very friendly and came right up to you. One even licked my entire forearm! They all looked well taken care of. 10. Cavalia book souvenir - Nice book with gorgeous photos printed on heavy paper. Great item to have to relive your experience! 11. AMAZING seats. - We were literally SO close to the stage. There was also a boutique area in the VIP tent for you to pick up more souvenirs like books, plushes, and shirts from the show. The show itself was better than I was expecting! I absolutely loved watching how well trained the horses were (Fun fact: it typically takes a horse 9 years to be trained for one of these shows!). I wish my dog was this well trained. The vocalist was GREAT. She sounded beautiful. The acrobats were very impressive as they demonstrated their gravity defying acts. The stage itself was also breathtaking. It's HUGE. So many gorgeous colors and lighting! The only thing I wish it had was more of a narrative/storyline or maybe there was and I just completely missed it. Overall, we had an absolutely great time. We also got to meet fellow Yelp Elites (Hey Brittany and Scott!) which made the experience even more enjoyable! Once again, fantastic job Johnny and team! Can't wait for the next event!

The show last about an hour and then you get a 30 min intermission and go back into the VIP area for desserts and then back to the show. This was such an amazing show from the music, the stages, artists and horses. Its so worth every penny!!! It was so entertaining. We got a chance to meet the horses and some of the artists. And also go backstage and check out all the setup. Best experience ever. I will never forget this show!!!
