When we arrived, the concession lines were short, which was great. There were two kiosks for ticket check-in since we already had tickets, but no one was at the box office outside. We initially approached an employee inside who was taking tickets, but he couldn't help and just told us to use the kiosks. Thankfully, the kiosks were easy to use, and we headed to our theater without issue. No one was stationed at the entrance to check tickets or direct us, so we just found our way. The theater wasn't crowded since we went to an earlier show. Highlights: Seats were very comfortable. Sound and picture quality were excellent for a standard (non-3D) showing. Theater was clean. They have a bar with alcohol options, which is a nice bonus if that's your thing. Popcorn was fresh and buttery. Room for Improvement: Service was just okay. The employee we spoke with initially wasn't very helpful, and my partner noted that service at concessions was a bit slow--it took about 10 minutes for them to get back to the theater with drinks and popcorn. The theater gets cold, so bring a sweater or blanket. Overall, we'd go back. The comfort, quality, and clean environment make it a good spot for catching a quick movie.

The space between rows is wide enough for the recliners to fully extend while allowing people to easily walk through. The recliners are comfortable but need some refurbishing. The sound quality was good enough. I noticed that in the long 30 minutes spent on previews, there wasn't a short reminder about not using cell phones during the movie. So yes, several people were on their phones texting and on social media throughout the show. That was annoying. The theatre lobby is small and a bit dated. Parking can be tough in the adjacent structure.

My biggest complaint was that they were so eager to clear out the theater, they turned the lights on with more than five minutes left in the movie. At least wait until the end credits to hurry people out! And I was prepared for high concession prices but they do seem quite a bit more expensive than their competitors in the area. Sure, perhaps I could have borrowed the film from the library, but Vanderbilt gave me the opportunity to see it on the big screen along with a brief introduction and post-show discussion led by a German professor. And did I mention this was free?! Gosh I love living near a major university that is willing to open its arms to the surrounding community and share its cultural largess. Thank you, Vanderbilt! What else...seats are comfy and the theater is clean, but don't expect stadium seating or cup holders. Sarratt Cinema is very nice, but not particularly fancy, ostentatious or luxurious. There was a limited selection of snacks and candies available at the door. I didn't get any, but I did notice that they had some sort of special deal where you could get a free popcorn if you purchased any other concession. Some other audience members took advantage of that offer. As you might expect from the venue, the audience seemed erudite and was well-behaved during the film. If you're not already familiar with its location, you may want to plan on arriving a little early to find your way around and find someplace to park. There were no kiosks that I could see and Jacob helped us at the box office. He was very friendly and got us on our way into the movie as quickly as possible. I was pleased to see that the theatre featured leather recliners, but less pleased when I found out that my seat didn't work... Patrons in the theatre respected the Movie Theatre Code and while bummed about the non-functioning seat, it was still better than the AMC back home. But another disappointment came in the form of no working soap dispenser in the restroom--though a large bottle of hand sanitizer was made available in lieu of the preferred method of cleansing your hands after using the restroom.

The concession stand was well stocked and had friendly employees. Theatre was spacious, reclining chairs and wait- heated seats. Bless my heart, I loved it. Since moving to West Nashville, this AMC has become our go-to theater after we tested a few others in the area out, with little success might I add. We were spoiled with full service/dine-in theaters back in Atlanta and while this location does not have the food service, it is the closest we will get to the comforts of those theaters. What they lack in food service, they make up for in large, comfy, spacious reclining seats combined with high dividers between rows. While they do not have a full menu, they do have a few options such as pizzas, nachos, and a few other hot dishes in addition to the classics of popcorn and candy. They also have a bar, however during all of our visits whether it be day or night, I have never seen the bar staffed or open. Overall, this is a solid theater. Service is hit and miss at the food counter, and they always seem to have a few issues during previews whether it be sound going out or the lights not dimming appropriately...luckily neither has happened during the actual movie, so we let it slide. As long as we live in West Nashville, this AMC will be our movie spot!

My seat did not function properly so I had to switch it. Surprising all of that was not the worst part. We waited an hour for the main feature to begin. An hour from the stated start time of the movie! What a waste. By the time we got out, it was almost dinner time. Eventhough this theatre is 10 minutes from where I live, I'm not going back anytime soon.
