Best deli in Ronkonkoma! The people here are unbelievable nice and they always get my order right. With an egg sand which you get a choice of apple or orange juice. Roast beef, 2 eggs, Swiss cheese, sautéed onions, salt pepper & ketchup is my go to. They have many salads, hot food options and drinks. Great for a quick lunch or breakfast. read more

Deli. Not sure if Lakoma was a tribe or a name for the nearby lake or whatever but this deli has a nice selection of all of your usual suspects for lunch and hot dishes as well. The place looks like a big old house from the outside- and never seems to be crowded which works for me. The place has a lot of stuff jammed in there and it takes a few minutes to get your bearings. The deli case is always jammed with some really delicious looking goods and I am slowly working my way through them. Prices are average. Parking on the side. read more

This place is one of the best deli on Long Island. I do not know a person who doesn't love this place. Growing up in Ronkonkoma and at the lake this place is the stop spot on the way home. My mom makes the best potato salad but her go to is Lakomas potato salad when she's not making her own. Today (I haven't been there in about 3 years) I walked in for a NY DELI breakfast egg sandwich. These are the adjectives I'm choosing FOODNOMENAL, DELICIOUS, HOMEMADE & FANTASTIC GUESS WHAT? THEY SERVE IT (breakfast) ALL DAY!! WUT WUT ?? I even went out & had them add lettuce to throw a spin crunch on the awesome eggslut sandwich Don't give me hater sauce fellow NY'ers I selfied and showed some friends & all they said was, "DUDE!!! YOU ADDED LETTUCE TO AN EGG SANDWICH AND ARE NOW AN OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES WEIRDO." LOL I guess that got me in the club although I take full responsibility for my weirdness by being raised in the 80's-90's. My cheat meal, what a waste! Request over easy eggs you get fried! Hungry man hero with no ham, hero looked like it was shoved in a closet. Burnt bacon! Third time they have disappointed me! The Lakoma deli has been around since the last hooray of the good old days when Lake Ronkonkoma was a destination and a resort town, it definitely maintains this feeling of yesteryear when you walk in. I often feel like I've walked into 1982 when I go in there, yet we are far removed from then. The deli itself is not much to speak of, it's big and sparsely stocked, I'm guessing in the past it stocked groceries and stuff, now it's just a deli. I've read others reviews on here and while I can sort of see their complaints, I have to say to be fair, I've had pretty much good experiences here. But I can only speak to what I've sampled so far, first off... It's convenient, it's close to home, they do make good egg sandwiches and from the few lunch sampling's I've tried I've found them standard good deli food. The Long Island deli is slipping away into history, being replaced by over priced gourmet delis or cafes, so to sit and nitpick about a standard deli is counterproductive. It serves its purpose, it's portions are fair, the sandwiches are well made, the iced tea is good (served in the proper cups) the women serving behind the counter are kind and friendly, the prices? Well that's where you can get jammed up! I ordered the big container of Mac and cheese (which wasn't all that) and a sandwich plus drinks and the bill was like over $30 and I was like what??? Turns out big portions are expensive by the pound (my own fault for not paying attention to price) but I will say look at the specials because I got a fried chicken cutlet, mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese, buttered roll plus a $3 iced tea for under $11 bucks! Not what is used to be. It's a shame that such a land mark is going down the tubes. Nobody cares about the service and the food is nothing to speak about. When being waited on by one of the women that work there, it was as if I was a bother. I just ordered a simple sandwich. The food is standard to everyone else in the area. The only reason they are probably still in business is location. With all the deli's in the area, you would think they would care a little more. Ordered 6' hero and then they tried to jack up the price on me when I went to pick up. And then tried to tell me it was a "service charge" . I will not go back. Will keep my money in my town, there are plenty of others that treat me better as a customer and the quality of food is the same. read more

I Ordered a sandwich (keep in mind that it was ROLL, not a hero) with honey turkey, lettuce, tomato, pepperjack cheese, mayo, and a pickle. I usually order this sandwich whenever I go to a deli, and no matter where I went, I never got charged more than $8.50. When my sandwich was ready, I was holding a ten dollar bill expecting it to be around the same price I usually pay and get change in return. I was literally shocked when I was told that it came out to a whopping $11.50!!! WHAT?! Obviously I had to ask why it was so expensive. She started giving me a list of what went into the sandwich: turkey sandwich is $6, pickles is $2, chee... whoa, whoa, whoa! Back up a sec. How much was the pickle? $2?! I could buy a whole jar a of pickles for $2! Those usually come complimentary anyway! Then she started saying that these are the prices everywhere. Really?! Did you maybe want to hope that was the case when those words came out of your mouth before even doing any research on how much that should cost? Anyway, I just finished eating the pickle and was hoping that it would be some magical pickle that I've never tasted before, but unfortunately, it was just an ordinary pickle. If you want the same exact order, but for around $8, then just go a few blocks down to Pop's Deli on Ronkonkomo Ave. Same exact taste for basically 25% less money. I took a star off for every dollar they stole from me. Plus if you're going to screw me, at least put on some lipstick. Another star came off for that as well. read more

What happened here? Used to be my go to for sandwiches and salads. Just got a roast beef hero Thursday, made by the man who's been there forever. No more than 4 slices of meat on a hero?? Bread sandwich? You want to charge more for a real hero? Tell me it costs more for more meat and I'll gladly pay!! They make a good breakfast sandwich for a reasonable price. The salads and lunch sandwiches are a little bit pricey but always good. I don't buy food from the deli often so I don't mind paying a little bit extra for good quality food. Most of the people who work there are very friendly as well. They also allow their customers to pay it forward to a local homeless woman So she can come in and get food when she needs it. Good people. read more

The deli is in a great location and has a nice variety of food but living nearby you get to learn a lot. First I've seen the same food displayed for over a week, old dried up meatloaf and crusty tunafish and then you gotta deal with the prices, threw the roof! $9 for ham and cheese hero with half the meat you would expect! Went Lacoma deli today for breakfast. I got egg whites, pastrami homefries on a roll. The sandwich was on the money just as expected, counter help was very attentive even though there were busy. I go there once in a while never had any complaints. Lacoma is a solid deli. read more

Just plain bad. I wanted it to be good, because it's around the block from my house, but it's terrible. First, they are cash only. I guess no one told them it's 2011, and there are these things called debit cards that just about everyone uses. Second, way too expensive. I paid nearly $1 more there for two bagles than I have anywhere else. If the bagles are so expensive, then they should be better than any bagel you can get. Nope, they were the worst. They were hard, and tasted like a bagel you get at 7-11. Theres better places not to far away, stay away from this place. read more

No meat on the sandwiches!!!! Went to Lakoma Deli on July 4th weekend for a couple sandwiches on our way to the beach. My roast beef on rye had literally one slice of roast beef on two thick slices of rye bread. They charged an extra dollar for tomato and lettuce. Very disappointing for a sandwich that cost $6.50. Lakoma Deli has been an institution in Lake Ronkonkoma since the 60s. I have vivid memories of coming after hurricane Gloria. They were the only place open cause they still had the hand crank slicers from when they opened. More than 50 years later they still make the best breakfast sandwiches in town. My 3 year old son said it was the "best sandwich ever!" I agree. read more

This deli was always the community go-to place for breakfast, especially on the weekends. Every Saturday morning I used to take my kids there for egg sandwiches, and the line was always out the door, but their food was worth the wait. Moved out of the area a few years back, and stopped by recently for breakfast, and I cannot believe how disappointed I was. I literally ate a few bites of my egg sandwich and threw the rest in the trash. Not to mention that when I opened the bag, there were no napkins, straws or utensils. Their salads are still decent, but I won't go back there again unless they get a new cook, because the one they currently have obviously does not know what they are doing. Sad. read more

Lakoma used to be good, my family and I have been going there for over 30 years. Today was the last time. Bought a hero,the meat was hard,the bread tasted gross,the coleslaw was brown.IT is very disappointing. The price was outrageous. I dont want to even give it one star read more
