the absolute worst customer I have experienced at a salon. There are two locations apparently, one that takes appointments and one that does not. However, if you search for a nail salon using Apple Maps, which i often do as someone that travels for work, both locations will take you to the booking site but will only book you for the location 45 minutes further out. How would a first tike customer even know this?! After explaining the situation the manager tried to charge me full price for a service I literally could not get to, then half price, then chastised me for being rude when this was unacceptable to me. The location that does not accept appointments is supposedly called 'nail academy' but the storefront also says LaLa Nail Salon. Literally NOBODY would be able to figure this out. This was my first personal day at a job where I am often working 20-30 days straight and it was wasted entirely on this mess. read more

A friend shared a photo of nails she got done with Jennifer today, and unfortunately I don't know if I will try stopping by in the future. She was pretty unhappy with her results and the gels on natural nail looked visibly sloppy. This is only to speak to gel on natural nail, so I can't speak to their other services. Great service! I went to get my nails done and lashes lifted and tinted and I was not disappointed. I loved the conversation with the nail specialist and also the end result of my nails. First time at LaLa's and it was a great experience!! I love that I was able to support a local and black-owned business especially given the pandemic. My nail tech was so personable and made sure my nails were exactly what I wanted. I got the spa manicure and wished the massage portion of the manicure was a little bit longer. I also love that my nail tech informed me of a hang nail that I had an used an antiseptic to ensure cleanliness and reduce redness. First, you have to put a deposit down which should have been my first warning. If your clientele is so unpredictable you have to do that, probably not a good place. Very clean, all acrylic / no traditional polish, interesting decor. The woman who did my nails made it crystal clear that I did not belong in their clique - talking to everyone in the salon, didn't waste her time asking how I like my nails and decided how they'd be shaped. would deeply sigh if I asked her anything. As it was my first time, said let's have some fun with my nails since I don't have anything coming up, event wise. She put stickers on my nails that look like the reward stickers I give to preschoolers. I get my nails done for me, not to be made to feel like I interrupted their good time and didn't take the cue to leave. read more

Guys... Just don't go here. It's really unfortunate to write this because the evening started lovely, the two girls who did my nails were sweet girls but I highly suggest they find another salon to work at. Erin, who I assume was new, was stuck in the middle of this terrible miscommunication (due to the owner lacking proper communication between associates).. was sweet and trying to accommodate as best as possible. But the customer service of the owner and a few other associates, was just plain terrible. My nail are fine, I'm not unhappy. But I'm also not ecstatic, considering I originally requested the spa package and got the express package. Erin ended up kindly charging me for the proper package, which I very much appreciated. But in the end, the night ended on a horrible note because the owner can't swallow her pride. There's nothing worse than terrible customer service. And when that customer service is a reflection of the owners own business practice... or lack there of ... is just another reason let others know before they waste their time. read more

I have been going to Lala's since the salon opened as I followed my nail tech, Aleshka, here from her old salon. There are so many things I love about this salon -- it is clean and full of friendly, professional, and TALENTED people. You can't go wrong with any nail tech here! Lala's carries every color under the sun, including the entire Valentino Beauty Pure collection, and the nail techs are literally artists who can make any vision come true. I haven't heard them turn down any request. If you look at their Instagram, you'll see the gorgeous, unique designs they do. I've been getting my nails done here every 2-3 weeks for nearly a year now and my nails come out amazing every time. Lauren is who I regularly go to and she is so skilled my nails come out exactly like I picture in my head every time! I have also gone to Aleshka for repairs and fills and she is really great too! Made an appointment last Friday for today.. I get in there and they can't find my appointment. Lady says because I don't have a card on file. Even though I gave my card when making my appointment. Okay cool whatever, she tells me wash hands and then asks me to choose a nail color. Went here for my wedding with my bridal party two days before my wedding. It was supposed to be a fun bridal activity, instead we all left very stressed out. I'm fairly happy with my nails, however most of my bridesmaids were unhappy with theirs and we had a lot of drama over pricing at the end. Long story short, they were charging us 150% of out services because they forgot they previously charged us the deposit. It was all very unorganized. I came here for a bridal party mani/pedi and the experience was great until when it came time to pay for our services. We had booked the appointment a month in advance - which required a deposit of half of each of our services. The salon refused to deduct the deposit from the services or give our deposit back. My mani pedi should have only been $45 (after my previous $45 deposit) - I had to pay in total $135 for services that should have been $90. They ultimately kicked us out after we were nothing but respectful. read more

Every time I get the stupid expensive gel x nails, they always pop off within a week. I spent over 100$ for design and for gel x nails, ONE nail pops off, I leave work early to race down to the salon because I leave the next morning out of the country, and they say they are fully booked and can't fix my ONE nail. Also- I HAD THE NAIL they need to put back on. All they had to do was cure it in place. But the freckled girl with curly hair spoke for every employee there and said they didn't have the time to CURE one nail. Trash customer service. Trash technique. Will never come back again. I've been to so many salons and have never experienced anything like it even after spending so much money. I called after I left to explain my frustration- and Lauren hangs up on me, saying that I was "cursing" (which I didn't, I would never curse at an employee at their place of work, after working at Disney during college and as a nurse currently, there's no reason for it, at all). I had nothing but high hopes for Lala's Salon and Spa as I've heard pretty good things about it from friends. So I booked an appointment to get a gel manicure before I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding. The manicure itself was great. However, the next day the gel polish became discolored. Unfortunately, I was out of town and unable to schedule an appointment before the wedding to get them fixed. Upon my return I emailed the salon (within 5 days - apparently that's their policy) regarding the issue and was told it was no problem and to book a color change under the impression this would be a free service. I booked the color change and showed up at the salon and was told I would have to pay $25 for the color change service. I was unwilling to do this as the discoloration was not my fault and I reported within their policy timeframe. I left without the service and then was charged the $25 anyway for a "no-show, cancellation". So not only do my nails still look horrible, I was charged an extra $25 too. Do. Not. I'm highly disappointed in my nails. The tech was sweet and fairly new. I wanted almond shaped nails which are all a different shape and length. I also told the tech I wanted a dark wine red and she somehow ended up using a bright red. They charge a lot for not the best service. I really thought I was going to a upper class salon and felt like I was charged upper class salon prices but received mediocre service. just don't come here. the removal of my dip manicure was $20 even though it was just a basic soak which took like 10 minutes. i've never been charged more than $5 for such a basic service. the nails themselves came out tacky and started lifting after less than 2 weeks. usually my dip manicures last 3-4 weeks with hardly any lifting. paige did my nails but was quite literally looking at a step-by-step tutorial as if she had never done this service before. read more
