I'm newly retired and have just started on a Medicare Advantage Plan. Unfortunately, CRMA only takes Tufts Medicare Preferred advantage plan. That's the only one. That stinks. It makes me wonder if they really want to service Medicare patients. I had researched the Medicare Advantage options, and for me the Tufts plan didn't cut it. I am an established patient with several specialists in the Mass General Brigham network. All of them took the Mass General Brigham Medicare Advantage plan. It was only my PCP who did not. Several of my specialists did not take Tufts Medicare Preferred. I was faced with having to find a new PCP and keep all of my specialists, or to keep my PCP and a couple of my specialists. Changing doctors is a royal pain, and getting a first appointment seems to typically take a year. My medical situation is that would not work for me. I had selected my PCP at CRMA, because they are part of the Mass General Brigham network. If they were not, I wouldn't have gone there. One frustration with CRMA was with lab work. Patients at CRMA HAVE to use their office. I once tried to use a Mass General Brigham lab. They cannot see the lab orders from a CRMA doctor. I am guessing that CRMA is trying to keep revenues from lab testing. Just a guess.

I was then seen by a nurse who took my vitals and asked questions about my back issue. This started at about 8:40am. After that was complete, I assumed the Doctor would come in a few minutes after since there was no wait and was the only person in the office area. After waiting for 43 minutes in the patient room, NO CONTACT WITH ANYONE ABOUT THE WAIT TIME. At 9:30am I had to open the door and ask the nurse at the front desk how much longer?? She said another 15 minutes because the Doctor was with a patient, mind you I had an appointment scheduled to avoid this type of wait time and the app said that nobody was ahead of me in the scheduling time slot. At 9:48am, the doctor strolls in. No introduction as to who she is and no apologies about the wait time. Then goes to tell me I just need to stretch due to my serve back pain and can barley bend over to attempt to touch my toes. No common curtesy of wasting my time when I had to be at work for 10am, WHICH WAS A 20 MINUTE DRIVE. This is why I even scheduled an 8:30am appointment to make it to work on time. After "diagnosing" after a 3 minute appointment, I walk out and one of the nurses is just taking a casual nap at the nurses station!! What joke this place is!! COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! THIS LOCATION IS AWFUL. AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPEIRENCE AT AN URGENT CARE I HAVE EVER HAD. ZERO STARS !!!!!!!!!

I also appreciate Dr. He's straightforwardness. She doesn't let me off the hook for what I need to be doing to keep myself healthy - eating right, losing weight, and taking my meds as prescribed. I feel that my care plan is exactly right for me, and it better be, since I was a partner in creating it. It's refreshing to have a doctor and her staff that doesn't just want to give me more pills to take, but count on me to do what I have to do to be well. I was greeted by one of the staff's dog running around the entire office and waiting room. Didn't seem very sanitary to me considering this was a doctor's office. I had to introduce myself to Dr. He at the front desk my second visit since she never had the decency to meet me the two different times I was there as a new patient. I was really upset when Dr. He submitted my routine physical incorrectly to my insurance. The insurance company assured she was in network and covered the cost of the routine physical she just needed to submit the proper coding. I called at least three times to Dr He's office to get this fixed. Each time I was told that it would be taken care of. When I would call back to follow up I would find nothing was done and would get an excuse why nothing had been done. Each time there was a new excuse. Basically I was lied to so I would get off the phone and they had no intentions of helping me. One of the times Dr. He got on the phone and started yelling at me about how I don't understand my insurance plan. I eventually drove back to the office and handed Dr. He the phone to speak with my insurance company. They would not tell me what was discussed but did say one of the codes submitted was for a person between the ages of 40-72. I am 33. Maybe Dr. He would know how old I am if she actually took interest and met with me. In the end it sounded as though if she were to resubmit the proper coding then she would get in trouble for fraud since everything had already been processed. As a result, she would not go through with the proper coding in order to cover herself. Run the other way if you are considering this physician. Dr. He is a fraud and will process your visits incorrectly leaving you in a black hole with your insurance companies and her office staff.

You get treated poorly by their staff when asking for assistance to help your care. Messages and phone calls get mixed and ignored. Then you find out later on they just didnt want to do anything nor can give you a reason. Find a provider elsewhere. Laura Sullivan NP and Cody Desouza dont properly take note for your medical care and records. They wasted many years of care for me, I should have left sooner. Find a provider who listens and documents properly so you can have better ease of care when trying to communicate. They mostly want to push useless labs, medications and unnecessary tests to get more billed/money. They dont seem to focus on treatment or what the patient says at all, even after years of expressing and informing them.

I have also shared this same experience via Google reviews. Similar to another reviewer, I had a very negative experience with Mariah Black, a nurse practitioner in the APCC program. Throughout my visits, I felt I was treated more like a customer being dismissed than a patient seeking medical care. I came in for an existing health condition and requested time off from work to focus on recovery. Rather than discussing my symptoms or collaborating on a treatment plan, my request was denied. I was told that I had "plenty of time" to recover and that I should "find another job" if I was uncomfortable going back to work. I found this comment extremely inappropriate, dismissive, and lacking in empathy. At no point did I feel that my concerns were genuinely listened to or taken seriously. Instead, my attempts to explain how my condition was affecting me were repeatedly being brushed aside in favor of her own assumptions and beliefs. Additionally, I expressed that I had financial concerns and could not afford one of her proposed recovery options. At the time, I was reassured that this was understood and would not be an issue. However, I later discovered in the clinical notes that this was documented very differently. The notes stated that I failed to follow the treatment plan, and this was then used as justification for denying me additional time off from work. This contradiction left me feeling backstabbed and left me feeling misrepresented and betrayed. I have been a patient at the Southborough medical practice my entire life, but will now be looking elsewhere for care. I expected compassion, honesty, and collaboration from medical professionals. All of that was entirely absent here. If you are assigned to Mariah Black, please consider my experience when deciding where to seek care. I would not want anyone else to feel as dismissed and unsupported as I did.
