The Dr's and nurses spend maybe 15- 30 minutes with you and cannot apply your medical history to help you with your medical care treatment. You get treated poorly by their staff when asking for assistance to help your care. Messages and phone calls get mixed and ignored. Then you find out later on they just didnt want to do anything nor can give you a reason. Find a provider elsewhere. Laura Sullivan NP and Cody Desouza dont properly take note for your medical care and records. They wasted many years of care for me, I should have left sooner. Find a provider who listens and documents properly so you can have better ease of care when trying to communicate. They mostly want to push useless labs, medications and unnecessary tests to get more billed/money. They dont seem to focus on treatment or what the patient says at all, even after years of expressing and informing them. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience because I left my medical visits feeling deeply disrespected and unhelped. I have also shared this same experience via Google reviews. Similar to another reviewer, I had a very negative experience with Mariah Black, a nurse practitioner in the APCC program. Throughout my visits, I felt I was treated more like a customer being dismissed than a patient seeking medical care. I came in for an existing health condition and requested time off from work to focus on recovery. Rather than discussing my symptoms or collaborating on a treatment plan, my request was denied. I was told that I had "plenty of time" to recover and that I should "find another job" if I was uncomfortable going back to work. I found this comment extremely inappropriate, dismissive, and lacking in empathy. At no point did I feel that my concerns were genuinely listened to or taken seriously. Instead, my attempts to explain how my condition was affecting me were repeatedly being brushed aside in favor of her own assumptions and beliefs. Additionally, I expressed that I had financial concerns and could not afford one of her proposed recovery options. At the time, I was reassured that this was understood and would not be an issue. However, I later discovered in the clinical notes that this was documented very differently. The notes stated that I failed to follow the treatment plan, and this was then used as justification for denying me additional time off from work. This contradiction left me feeling backstabbed and left me feeling misrepresented and betrayed. I have been a patient at the Southborough medical practice my entire life, but will now be looking elsewhere for care. I expected compassion, honesty, and collaboration from medical professionals. All of that was entirely absent here. If you are assigned to Mariah Black, please consider my experience when deciding where to seek care. I would not want anyone else to feel as dismissed and unsupported as I did. read more

PCP DR Bean. Moved from Vegas where care is terrible and office staff the same. I have same insurance as I had there but it's unbelievable how quickly I have gotten to see specialists and radiology tests scheduled and done. It is night and day difference! I worked as RN in a HMO and I was proud of the clinic I worked in back in MN before retiring, so far this clinic is very comparable. My doctor called after hours with my results and got me scheduled with specialist sooner too. Very pleased thus far. read more

Love the location in Southboro and Westborough. Great variety of doctors and specialists. All very pleasant and all very helpful. I have severe rumatoid arthritis and 3 knee replacements and I always get a nice person to roll me all the way down to Pain Management and another nurse to roll me back. read more

Huge shout out to the nurses, tech, and especially Dr. Mike Demelis who not only performed necessary testing including a CT Scan, but also kept me informed throughout and answered all my questions. And even consulted with my GI doctor before discharging me. I felt so well taken care of. read more

This is the worst medical group. If you ever need any test or surgery, PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, request it be done at the hospital. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have a procedure done thru their facilities, I have to pay a copay for each Dr and the facility. Go to the hospital. Your insurance pays them. Reliant financially rapes you. I previously had to pay $90, this time $60 that I know of. This group sucks. read more

A woman from that dept called me back equally disgusted. She strongly advised me to report them to the Division of Health Care Facility Licensure and Certification. She was equally disturbed how Reliant Medical Group could neglect a long term patient as well as not allowing a smooth transition from one medical provider to another, hence leaving me at the mercy of an Emergency Room for things as minor as prescription refills which Reliant has recently denied through CVS. Early April 2022 I receive a letter dated 3/31/2022 from my PCP, Dr Robert Jandl, of his retirement. He offers continued coverage until new PCP's join Reliant. At that time patients will be registered with a new Reliant PCP. - Please see letter attached. Early August 2022 I receive a follow up letter dated 7/28/2022 stating there are no PCP's available at Reliant and that I must look out of the Reliant network. Dr Jandl does state in his letter that his "colleagues in the Southborough office will be able to fill prescriptions and address immediate healthcare needs unti September 2, 2022. Until this date, you can continue to call the Southborough Reliant office " - Please see letter attached. A 30 day grace/transition period is not a lot of time! I immediately sought out a new PCP and after 2 full days spent on the computer and phone, I signed on with Dr David Ahern from the UMASS Memorial Group. Unfortunately, Dr Ahern's first available slot to see me is December 5, 2022 and I'm not considered a patient until that date. On August 23, 2022 I ordered my high blood pressure meds to Reliant through My Chart and a reply letter was received that this is only a one time coutesy despite Dr Jandl's September 2, 2022 timetable? In addition, despite Dr Jandl's 9/2/2022 timetable given, I receive an email on 8/23/22 from Keri J LPN that "we are unable to keep providing you are" - Please see email below Message from RELIANT MEDICAL GROUP, sent August 23 at 11:48 AM Hi Gary, I am sorry you did not get the August letter that we are unable to keep providing your care. Please call your insurance to get a list of new PCP's ASAP. Keri J. LPN Basically, Reliant Medical Group Southborough has put me in limbo with no one to turn to for prescriptions, simple scripts such as high blood pressure medicine to keep my bp at healthy levels reducing my risk of heart disease, heart attack, and stroke! They just denied a script through CVS this week! Please see recent text below received from CVS: CVS Pharmacy: Gary, Your Dr did not authorize to refill your Rx for H. Absolutely horrible experience. My primary care doctor and the pediatrician are excellent. Nevertheless, I just dislocated my patella for the second time, and I am with so much pain in both my knees. I just wanted my primary care doctor to send a referral to an authopedic surgeon outside the Relient Medical Group. The referral office flat out refused to send a referral and asked me to go see a specialist within the relient medical group only. I have read horrible reviews about the authopedic doctor they are sending me to. I am extremely unhappy and upset about this medical group and how they try to keep their patients within their group and not thinking about the well being of the patient for simply to make money out of the insurance. I would prefer to change my primary care provider and the pediatrician and get out of the Relient Medical Group in the future. This place is the WORST! ever since it became Reliant it has gone down hit so fast. I had a biopsy which turned out to be cancerous and no one contacted me with the results. I finally got someone to call me back and they didn't w plain it clearly so I didn't even realize it was cancer. then they gave me names of a surgeon and oncologist and told me to call them to make appointments but neither of them allow you to make appointments yourself. They misdiagnosed my mother's arthritis with Lyme disease even though the test was negative and put her on three weeks of doxy that she didn't need while refusing to give her anything else to alleviate her extreme pain. They have a sports medicine specialist they refer everyone to who misdiagnoses everyone. read more

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and have never been seen by a M.D ! when I ask who my actually doctor is that I have never seen they tell me I don't have one I just see who ever is there the day of my appointment! no one cares about you your just insurance money to report ! there are no relationships ships between patients and doctors if your lucky enough to see one I have never even seen the same nurse twice and these are the people I am supposed to trust to deliver my baby ! I have never been treated so bad this should be considered fraud ! this is human lives your dealing with I know vets that treat animal better ! read more

i have been coming here ever since i was born. my 24 year old brother went there before me all his childhood. it is accessible and amazing healthcare. they care about how you are feeling and believe in fixing it. when you get bloodwork done you can't even feel it. they are very nice there (and it is a very clean place!!) read more

My wife went to the Reliant Medical Group's Orthopedics department located in St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester MA with a pain in her pelvic area. She had been referred to a Sport Medicine specialist because they thought her problem was muscular. The Doctor she saw didn't review her medical history but instead initiated an aggressive range of motion review of her legs on an examining table. Afterwards she could barely walk compared to walking with a slight pain when she went there. Ten days later she was examined by the head of Orthopedics who estimated her pain, which was still severe, was sciatic related and ordered 2 MRIs. The second MRI of her hip showed 3 separate insufficiency fractures of her pelvis. The head of Orthopedics contacted her several days later (Nov 12) with the results and recommended no exercises before the New Year. No other guidance was provided, no pain killers, no Visiting Nurse to assist in rehabbing at home, no response to any questions we asked of him through the Group's MyChart. We have been doing what we thought she should be doing, only to learn from a friend who had a similar pelvic incident that she was prescribed pain medicines and authorized a Visiting Nurse who provided valuable information on physical movements needed to successfully recover. My wife's recovery has been very slow and very uneven and little change has occurred in her condition since the intense pain she experienced after the Sport Medicine doctor basically assaulted her on the examining table Nov 8 subsided. Noone should ever consider seeing Dr. Alexander Connaughton (Sports Medicine) or Dr. William Balcom for anything related to bone, nerve or muscle problems unless they don't mind having a doctor who doesn't follow up to see how they are doing. There are no 0 stars at the top of this complaint otherwise I would rate it as a 0. read more

This is the best clinic in the area. It's a one stop shop for anything anyone could possibly need. They have adult, pediatric, labs, mammograms, social workers, EVERYTHING! The staff was so kind and Dr. Minevich took great care to get me the services I needed. They are very thorough with taking your treatment history and going over what you are wanting to get out of your appointment. In response to people complaining about being late and not getting to see their doctor: You can't be mad because they can't see you after being fifteen minutes late. They have other scheduled appointments with patients and that patient shouldn't have to wait because you can't be on time. read more

I was a patient from Southborough medical group for many years. My doctor left the group and they told me that now I have to find another place to get medical attention. They don't try to reallocate patients to other doctors, they don't replace doctors and they even refuse to put me on a waiting list. The customer experience is just terrible. :( read more

I have been extremely disappointed with this medical group for the last couple years. It seems the only time my child actually see's his doctor is when it's a yearly check up. Every time there is a medical need with my son, they say he can't be seen and needs to go to the Pediatric urgent care in Worcester. When it's cold season kids get sick, but the symptoms of colds are the same as Covid. So it seems if he has the slightest of Covid symptoms, despite testing negative, they ship him off to be someone else's problem. I was feeling it was coincidence for a while, now I feel it's procedural. It might be time to look elsewhere outside of Reliant. It's too bad because we like the doctor as both my daughter and son has had him since birth. read more

Ridiculous hold times when ever you call the office. It does not matter the day or time you will be on hold for a minimum of ten minutes before you speak to even a receptionist. They have the my chart app but no one actually explains your test results. I called 3 weeks ago to get an appointment no call back. They are a mess and all they care about is the money. I called to get a rapid strep test for my daughter who had a sore throat. I live 5 mins away from the Southboro office. The nurse sent me to Auburn (35 mins drive) to get a Covid, flu, and strep test even though I told her that she tested negative for Covid the day before. Once there, I found out that the strep test result will take 3 days to come back! I called back for a rapid strep test but they said "best of luck"! Is this the type of healthcare that we are paying thousands of dollars for each year?? Terrible service!! I will go elsewhere. Thank you and best of luck!! read more

I would not recommend SMG, especially if your are going to be visiting the optical shop or eye doctors. I'll keep this short and sweet but basically the staff is unfriendly and uncaring, even rude actually. No one in their office bothered to call me to alert me that my contact lense prescription was expiring. (Maybe they could have keyed me in the last time I ordered contacts from them over the phone.. ya think?!?) so here I am with three pairs of dailies left, the best appointment "they can do" is 2 weeks away. Also put me on hold for no joke 20 minutes. I do not feel like they care at all about the health of my eyes. Not a good feeling when you want to be taken care of at the doctors. Doctor Scott is also very cold and doesn't spend much time looking at your eyes. Yes I would give this negative stars if I could. read more

This is a review of the front desk staff at Southboro pediatrics . I love the doctors and my kids have been going here for over 11 years but I've had enough with the front desk!!! They are rude , sarcastic, not customer service oriented and really never ever want to help! They aren't doctors or nurses and expect you to give information that is none of their business . I have complained before with no change, so not will post online and hope they make a difference . My kids love their doctor (even one in college) so stuck for a little longer. This review is for the facility and administration, not the doctors or healthcare providers who are actually very good. The company has recently changed management and the changes have been for the worse. My last few appointments have been messed up and my records were incorrect. Also, My obstetrician stopped doing deliveries at Newton Wellesley about halfway through my pregnancy, but nobody notified me of this even though I've been scheduled to deliver there since the beginning. I only found out by accident and I've had to switch doctors and facilities last minute because of it. They are also making changes to their insurance policies for the worse, for example the Harmony test which identifies whether a fetus has any genetic abnormalities (very important test!!) which only costs the patient $100 if insurance does not fully cover it will no longer be offered at Southborough Medical at all because they do not want cover the additional expenses. This is offered at most other providers. The rating would be much lower if it were not for the excellent patient facing staff who are wonderful. read more

I have not had a PCP in over 5 years and although it took me 6 months to get one here, it was worth the wait. Dr Minevich was very receptive to all my questions and her and her staff have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Transferring records and working to get everything situated was a breeze. I was 15 minutes late for an appointment (traffic) and was told that they couldn't see me. The doctor obviously couldn't be bothered to alter her schedule, or was already overscheduled. I get it -- I was late -- but it happens and there has to be some flexibility built into scheduling. I am sick (and I looked sick) and needed to be seen, and they literally turned me away with a "sorry, she can't see you." They did offer to try to get me in in another office -- after I'd already driven 40 minutes to get to this one. At rush hour. I wasted an entire afternoon and went home sick as a dog. I'd like to bill them for my wasted time. read more

We used these folks for many years and they were good. However lately these people quality has gone down the black hole. If someone is 10 minutes late for an appointment, they will not see you. Dr Buchanan is the bomb! Smart and caring...he takes the time to really understand your needs. I first came to him when I moved back to the area and was to old to see my pediatrician...he was new to the practice and I loved him instantly. Mom, fiance, and father in law to be goes to him. The staff and nurses are great too...I love that I can talk to a nurse anytime I have concerns and they can give me advice over the phone. Their hours are great and can usually get you in for quick visits rather quickly! Beth Nation is great in Ob/Gyn! She is very knowledgeable and caring! She knows her stuff! She is a nurse practitioner but in my opinion, she is even better then a doctor. I have been going to her since I was 16. She always asks how i am doing and takes the time to listen. She is also very specific when explaining answers to questions I have. She is very polite and helpful...I recommend her to friends all the time. Overall Southboro Medical is a great place for Children and Adults. All their staff is nice and accommodating. I even worked there years ago and it is a great place to work. Try going here, I know you and your families will love it here. read more

Absolutely inept booking and secretarial staff that actually make clinical decisions ON THE PHONE talking to patients. Somehow these booking people decide what can and cant be done when seeing a Podiatrist. After denying me getting measured for orthotics over the phone...the Podiatrist said "of course you can." After that was accomplished I was called by the SECRETARY and DEMANDED that I get "authorization numbers" When I told the secretary that my plan doesnt have authorization numbers she REFUSED TO PROCEED with ordering the orthotics until I got her imaginary requirement. Whe I called BCBS they said "they are supposed to call with any questions..and that my plan has no such numbers. When I called Reliant again they seemed to just relent. I was told the orthotics would be there in "less than a month." I was called at 2 weeks and told to make an appointment to pick them up. I also got another call to follow up again. At the appointment I was told that the orthotics were "there." After searching for 30 minutes they decided that they "werent there..and take 6 to 8 weeks!" By that time I was extremely unhappy with the complete breakdown in PAID MEDICAL SERVICE. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she "was in a meeting so I couldnt see her." I absolutely DEMANDED that the Podiatrist personally get her. After 15 mins I meet the apologizing manager who says the staff is "new " I asked how the secretaries make clinical decisions and she sain "thats a problem." I was told that the best she could do was to mail them...and the Pidiatrist could NOT FIT THEM unless I drove 80 miles AGAIN! I was told 6 to 8 weeks to wait and got a call the next day saying they were "there " Lo and behold it took 4 days to get them "overnight. " Lastly they are incorrect...and I have to drive 80 miles to get them looked at AGAIN! The only reason I am even using Reliant is because they use Footmaxx orthotics..which ha e been good for me over the years. I would never recommend Reliant to anyone. read more

I'm so disappointed. I've been going to Reliant Medical for my PCP for a few years now and had thought I hit the jackpot. I just had the most frustrating experience with an utter lack of professionalism and customer service. I get frequent styes, and have requested appointments with Reliant Medical's eye doctor, which, in June, was booked out through mid-December. I recently made an appointment elsewhere, which required a referral. I requested this weeks ago and just showed up to my appointment today to discover no referral, after an additional request was faxed from the eye doctor's office. I called Reliant and was transferred from person to person and told that it just "wasn't accepted." No call to warn me or any call to communicate whatsoever prior to my appointment. Not only did they not follow through with the referral, but provided no explanation or willingness to process it as I was already at the appointment. I had to walk out of my appointment, as I was told that it would have to be paid out of pocket. May have to start looking for a new doctor. read more

Okay so this review is about one doctor in particular ONLY. Doctor Kimberly McCarthy of Southboro's Reliant location. She is the absolute worst Doctor ever, she absolutely does not care and listen to your concern. She fake listens and will continue to repeat the same thing over and over. For example my daughter had to be seen today as she wasn't seen at an ER cause we were there almost 4 hours and left at 1am. In which when I got home her temp was 104.2. I told her she recently was around someone who had pneumonia (she's not 2 just yet) and that I was concerned at she had a fever of over 102+ all day yesterday last night and all this morning she told me that doing any kinda of blood work for a fever is silly and pointless. And I say ok but if she has pneumonia best way is blood test. and I asked why I could walk into any ER and get a diagnosis easy and whatever I need but she can't do blood work like I'm asking to make sure my child is ok and she told me to go back to a hospital then and got up and left.. VERY VERY RUDE! Dismissive and I don't see why she'd ever be a childrens doctor when she doesn't seem to care or can be bothered to actually help a child who's sick. Southboro Medical group is convenient because it houses everything under one roof like a small hospital with services, testing, mammograms, labs, MRI's,and practitioners for people of all ages. There is also a vision center with really nice selections and a pharmacy on-site. The professional staff are very good: (saw a plastic surgeon for a mole removal) and our primary care is Dr. Jandl (also Chief Medical Officer). However, as another person commented, the referral department is extremely difficult. First, the preference is to authorize referrals to practitioners in the Altrius Health Network that own and run the facility. Most of our doctors, who we have had for years, are in another network, and so there is almost always resistance unless you tell them that you have had a relationship with a doctor before coming to Southboro. All referrals have to be approved; sometimes the staff forget to call to confirm or send the referrals to the doctor you scheduled to see. Secondly, there is one woman called "A," who we call when we need refills, and the tone and attitude are often combative. We get the referrals eventually, but ... The staff could use customer service training and some more helpful folk, including at the front desk in the entrance. read more

We came back to Dr. Michael Cooper's practice following our 3-year absence from MA. He's a really competent, caring physician that takes the time to listen & address your concerns. Dealing with him is an absolute pleasure, as he is responsive and truly gives a damn about your outcome. Currently, his practice is full (no surprise there) but if you can get into his practice, it's worth the effort! read more

There is a woman who works in the patient registration department of Southboro Medical group who is legit THE WORST. I am not sure of her name but I called with questions about my health insurance and she kept cutting me off and was legit laughing at me at one point. During the phone call I had to cut her off at one point and tell her, "You seriously need to take a deep breath because I can tell you are getting way to frustrated". I called at 10:07 on May 8th so I am not sure who was working patient registration that day. If you are going to work at a doctors office, have an OUNCE of patience because there are a lot of sick people and pregnant people out there who don't need to be mocked, cut off, and laughed at. I really really wish I could remember this woman's name. I have called patient registration a few times and got this woman. She should not be working with people and should be doing behind the scenes stuff because she has anger management issues. I am going to try to call southboro medical to report her. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Bean at this office since 2007 and I can't say enough great things about him or this great place the nursing take their jobs very serious and actually care Dr. Bean is one of the most caring docs and actually takes the time to really make sure you as the patient are feeling better and answering all your questions I feel like all the docs nurses and all the staff from the Adult Medicine to the OBGYN office really cares the techs are amazing as well I wouldn't go anywhere else the Gynecologist office does an amazing job as well I see Nurse Practitioner Sue Stevenson there I love her as well I have no complaints about them there read more

I had a big problem with my eye, it's causing a pain and headache now, I called my PCP office there, told the problem in full details, they asked me to get seen by their doctor after 45 minutes, I been there to find the doctor had nothing to do with my and asked me to see the vision doctor, (it's an urgent matter) been downstairs, the receptionist was teaching her colleague (looks like she's new) something kept me waiting for around 4 minutes, they had NO patients in the waiting area. they told me the doctor today is by herself, can't see you in less than one hour. I told them that my mom was waiting for me in the car because I couldn't go by myself and that is too much wait, I need to have my eye pressure checked for the severe headache I had, if a nurse can do this. they replied no they don't have a nurse working on this day !!!! I asked them what to do, they said you can go to the emergency room, understandable that if they are this busy, instead of calling me in from the start, they could have told me go to the ER and the time wasted for nothing could have been consumed in the ER. I'm single mom, taking care of my daughter whom I had to pick her up from daycare later afternoon. They called me back with UNREASSONABLE appointments and the nurse who called was like : we are trying to help you but you are not helping" which was little offensive and NOT TRUE..
