Unfortunately we expected so much more from this place than we received. We visited at about 6:00 p.m. the night we went. One would think that the place would be packed. There were only two other couples there. Kind of nice since I prefer not having a bunch of people around. However, when they brought my chili Colorado, I realized why the place doesn't have many people there. There were french fries in my chili colorado. I grew up in Southern California and thought my name was mijo till I was 6 years old. So I've had good Mexican food. Made by actual Mexicans. Not once in my life. Have I ever had crinkle cut fries in my chili colorado. The waitress saw the look on my face when she delivered it and asked what was wrong. I stated that someone put fries in my food. There are hardly any choices for food when staying on Lookout Mountain in Georgia. This is especially, painfully true on a Sunday or Monday. So you may want to plan accordingly. The hubs and I drove around and down into Trenton based on Yelp listings showing places were open. Many were not in fact open on Sunday. So we ended up at this small little Mexican restaurant. The decor wasn't anything special and the restaurant was mostly clean. Our server was very attentive. I just ordered tacos. Can't go wrong with tacos. The hubs got a taco salad with chicken. It was so runny, oddly runny, that the bowl shell was mushy. Not sure what happened there. Food was food. It served the purpose of filling our bellies, but I doubt we'll be back. read more

We got here and the place smelt pretty bad. We sat down and then we ordered three dr. peppers and a coke, the three dr. peppers were brought out as WATERS. Lalito's has been a favorite local place for years. Today I met my husband there for lunch along with my nephew. I ordered the Speedy Gonzalez = a beef taco, beef enchilada with beans and rice. My husband ordered a beef burrito with cheese sauce and French fries. My nephew ordered the chicken taco salad. Their salsa is really good and the chips were fresh and crisp. I absolutely love their rice. We all enjoyed our food and I plan to try what my nephew ordered next time because it looked amazing. Their price=portion ratio is great. You can eat a good sized lunch for $5-$6. Parking can be a little limited if you go at a busy time. The service was great and overall we were really satisfied with our whole experience. read more

Another great find suggested by a local. Carnitas were great. So was my usual standby of Cille Rellenos. Was among the best I've had. Crispy chips. We asked for some hot salsa and it was very good as well with no extra charge. Service was fast and friendly. Menu was broad so there's plenty to choose from. Local Troopers came in shortly after us. They are munching furiously. There are tons of Mexican eateries and most are fine. This is above average. Some are better on a few things but collectively it's about 4.5 for us. read more

In town for work. Asked the locals for directions to the place with the best tamales and they answered Lalitos. I was not disappointed. I was greeted and seated promptly. I ordered three tamales with beans and rice. The food arrived quickly and piping hot. The rice was not over cooked and seasoned to perfection. The tamales were excellent. Stopped for some mexican food on my way through town and was extremely dissatisfied. The food came out quickly and the servers were nice, but the restaurant is extremely dirty. The ceiling is dripping with dirt, the floors were unswept. When the food came out, it look as if it was under the heater for 30 minutes. The salad had an inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. The tamales were flavorless and undercooked. Would not recommend. read more
