Wow... just outside of Chattanooga on Lookout Mountain is a hidden gem! Fine dining in a casual setting done right! We started off with Old Fashioneds and Margaritas, both were on point! For appetizers, we had the Spicy Feta Dip with warm, soft bread, and Fried Mushrooms topped with White Truffle Oil and served with Horseradish Sauce. Absolutely amazing!!!! For my entrée, I went with their signature dish... the Slash and Burn Catfish. WOW... crazy good! Great flavor and fried to perfection. You actually use a spoon to scrape the meat off the fish. This is a must-have dish! Others in our group that weren't feeling as adventurous enjoyed the Chicken Piccata, Grilled Shrimp, Sautéed Triggerfish, and steak, all were excellent. Pro tip: Save room for dessert!! We got the Strawberry Shortcake, which is a MUST HAVE, and the Amaretto Brownie, which was pretty great too! My husband and I had the best meal at Canyon Grill! We started off in the bar with a drink called the "Naked in Manhattan" -- smooth, balanced, and absolutely delicious. From there, we moved to our table and ordered two appetizers: the Burrata with tomatoes and the Rajas. Both were so fresh and flavorful -- the perfect way to start our meal. For our main courses, we enjoyed the filet with grilled shrimp (cooked to perfection!) and the fried shrimp, which were lightly battered and perfectly crisp. The grilled broccoli and fried okra were both fresh, hot, and full of flavor -- true standouts on their own. To top it all off, we finished with the amaretto brownie -- it had a crisp outer layer, a warm, rich chocolatey center, and was beautifully paired with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Just divine! A special shoutout to Michael, our bartender, who sent us glasses of port as an aperitif to enjoy with dessert -- such a thoughtful and classy touch. The service, food, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Even though it's an hour drive from where we live, this will absolutely become one of our regular spots. Excellent meal! Hadn't been there in a decade. So glad this restaurant is still thriving. Food was as good as I remembered. My only note: drop the .99 prices on the menu; I ordered a CAB Dry Age Ribeye for $60.99 (is the 99 cents an inside joke?). The Slash and Burn Catfish is a signature dish, shareable as an extra in the middle of the table. Extraordinary. One last thing: don't skip the fried okra. No kidding. Really wonderful. read more

I was surprised at how large and airy this restaurant is, with lots of windows. The service was amazing. Our waitress said she was just 18 but she knew the menu, was cheerful and friendly, kept all our orders and check straight in a group of 12. The prices range from reasonable chicken and pasta dishes to expensive steaks. My wife had the honey, pecan chicken and I don't know where they buy their birds but that was the tenderest chicken breast I've ever had. We also had the grilled grouper and it was outstanding. We spent our last night camping at Cloudland Canyon and decided to visit Canyon Grill. Be prepared for a treat! We ordered the fried clam strips as an appetizer then I ordered the grilled shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and my hubby ordered the NY steak strip with garlic mashed potatoes. To complete the meal we ordered the tiramisu. The restaurant recently went through a renovation and the staff were so friendly. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Trenton, GA! Husband had the catfish the first time we visited. Excellent! Ashton was our server and did an excellent job. We came back two nights later and had Ally as our server. The bread and butter is crazy good- don't skip it!!! The bread is light, airy and crunchy with soft whipped butter on the side. The non alcoholic tea and cider although pricey for amount was delicious. The mash potatoes were yummy. The service was kind and atmosphere was cozy and sweet. The main courses were just average. We had Chicken piccata which was just ok, the salmon was cold and bland even after asking to rewarm was still cold, the salsa to put on it was interesting. The okra had no taste whatsoever. Our party of five made reservations well in advance for 5:30 pm on 2/27/21. They did a great job with the CDC's guidelines. The fried shrimp was delicious as was the chicken piccata. The grilled vegetables were tasty as was the fish of the day which was a sea bass from Hawaii. The house salad was my favorite over the arugula salad. I didn't care for the Nueskes bacon on the arugula salad. I would definitely recommend to a friend and definitely recommend making reservations. Fried shrimp, filet mignon, 4 cheese pasta, crispy potatoes, and finished with the home made key lime pie!!! If you're going to rising phone Georgia you must be going to the canyon grill because there really is nothing else there except for a cop who likes to give tickets if you're going over 55. But once you get inside you'll fall in love with the people that work there and the food that they deliver. We're from New Orleans and very picky about our seafood but my fried and grill shrimp or as good as anything I've ever had in the Crescent city and my wife's salmon well let's just say she thought it was the second best salmon she's ever had. read more
