Today the Wife and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, we had a difficult time communicating with the staff . We should've known this as they have pictures of food on the wall. We did not see what we wanted so we described to the staff what we liked. The lady had to use her phone to translate. Unfortunately, we were surprised with what we received. Definitely not happy with the food. Also, the person that brought our food didn't even return our smiles. Reasonable priced, choice of meats - I chose the steak and G had two shredded chicken and two regular chicken. I preferred my steak (though G didn't like as much as her two shredded chicken tacos). I tried the hibiscus tea on a recommendation- very yummy! And so were the chips and salsa - hot chips and chunky and freshly made salsa hit the spot. The place is not your typical Mexican restaurant. The price is very reasonable. The food is tremendously good and some of the best I've had in a long time. I do not usually eat the chips and salsa but I could not get enough of the salsa. I would highly recommend this place. For starters, the customer service is top notch despite the challenges during Covid. The staff is welcoming and patient. I placed my order at the register and grabbed a seat to a very quaint and pleasant environment. The 4 count street tacos are AMAZING. I had the 2 shrimp special, chicken, and cut steak. This is by far the best Mexican food in the state of Tennessee. We have gone to a truck that the owners use to work at prior to owning this restaurant and loved their food then and when they got their own restaurant and moved to Winchester we just had to find out how good it was. Let me just say it is fabulous authentic Mexican. It doesn't get better than this. We were there 2 weeks ago and are going back tomorrow and we live in Huntsville. So worth the drive!!! Hesitate getting anything with steak normally since it's not always so great, but here it was good flavor and tender. Tried some homemade tamales which were really good as well. The most authentic Mexican food in the area! We had the steak street tacos and the chicken enchiladas rancheros. Everything was excellent. The enchiladas did not have the heavy red sauce like most places, but the tortillas and meat were both coated in it. Didn't miss the sauce at all. Super flavorful. The kids had the chicken wings and chicken nuggets and loved them. Great service and friendly attentive staff.
