Lalo! is a delightful brunch spot in Mexico City that lives up to its hype. Upon arrival, we saw a bustling atmosphere and a line of diners, which is always a good sign. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, and honestly, it was worth it. The open-air front gives the place a vibrant feel, and even though the seating is mostly communal, it didn't feel cramped at all.
I kicked off my meal with the fresh fruit, a beautiful medley of figs, papayas, pineapples, and melons. Everything was incredibly fresh and a nice start to the meal. Then came the star of the show: the chilaquiles topped with a sunny-side-up egg. The tortillas were excellent--crispy and flavorful--and the verde sauce, while slightly salty, was rich and delicious. The créma added the perfect creamy touch!
The service was generally good, but I did notice it lagged a bit during peak times, likely due to the high volume of guests. However, our server was friendly and attentive when they could be.
Overall, I recommend Lalo! to anyone in the area looking for a tasty brunch. read more
