Not the best ambiance, or the most authentic offering, but the food and cocktails are quite decent nonetheless. Servers are attentive, but I didn't get the sense that they spoke English for the most part, fwiw

While visiting family in Mexico City, my dad and I found ourselves craving something other than Mexican food. We stumbled upon this pasta spot on a whim, not expecting much--but it completely surprised us. Our dishes were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm, the service welcoming, and the entire experience was exactly what we didn't know we needed. Would definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later.

Stopped in before heading to cathedral. One of the best carbonara's I have ever had. The minestrone was light and yummy. The staff was great even though they were packed. They set expectations for the wait which I loved. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and relaxed.

Rodrigo fue nuestro mesero y la persona más amable. Definitivamente regresaremos. La comida estuvo deliciosa y el servicio, especialmente, fue increíble. ¡Gracias por una experiencia fantástica!

Close to our hotel in Centro Historico is a small alley Italian spot with friendly service and a large pasta menu. The moment we sat down on their outdoor seating, they brought water for our puppy and a bread basket with butter, oil, vinegar and parmesan cheese. My five-year-old daughter loved her spaghetti and my pasta with mushrooms in a cream sauce was tasty! They sell all types of water and Pepsi products.

Located in the historic center of CDMX, this Italian restaurant was a major surprise and hit with all of us. We picked it at random as we walked by and I have to say the food was so good, I checked in on Yelp and saved it for future stops the next time I'm in the city. I had the spinach ravioli with bolognese sauce. My favorite thought was the mushroom soup.

Nice place in centrol district if you craving pasta. Place is super lowkey and cozy. The pasta is decent, maybe on the oily side. Came here on two occasions. Pesto pasta was ok, a bit too oily. The seafood linguine is better. Had dry martini and negroni, both are great.

    Bruschetta
    Benita S.

The bruschetta was good, but everything else was sadly just mediocre. I honestly could have replicated our dishes at home with a much better outcome. The staff is very friendly, so that's a plus. I wonder if there is an Italian chef? Their standards are usually very high.

It was- spaghetti carbonara, pulpo carpaccio, penne bolonesa and ravioli 4 queso

The food was super! The pizza was to die for - if you love a crispy thin crust you will love this wood fired oven pizza. The Caesar salad was very traditional with anchovy puree - but not overpowering - a more oil based dressing not the creamy stuff that taste like mayo that you get in the US. The pasta was also very good - along with the house red wine. If you are from the US - the prices are amazingly cheap for the quality. I would absolutely go here again with friends, family, or a date - nice trendy but romantic interior - patio seating available. Takes credit card. The restaurant is on Ave. Independence - it has an address of Revillagigedo 18 - but it's in the downstairs of this building on the other side - which faces Ave. Independence. It's about the middle of the block between Revillagigedo and Luis Moya.

The spaghetti carbonara I ordered last night was awful, with the little bits of meat burned quite literally to a crisp. I probably should have sent it back. The woman server was good until she disappeared into the back to join her fellow waiters for dinner and it took forever to get the bill. The new male waiters are unfriendly, actually downright surly. The original waiters in the past were so nice and friendly. And the prices are now much higher than I remembered. Luigi, where are you? Don't make me go to the Osteria around the corner.

They give house focaccia bread with onion crisps and butter! That was soo delicious!! Everything together is *chefs kiss*! For appetizers we got the arancini Nero which was the squid ink risotto with octopus inside! It was so good!! We also ordered the mozzarella and tomato which is like a caprese salad but served hot!! We also got the gnocchi with Gouda and the de fungi pasta! Both were sooooooo good!!! It looks so simple but it's packs the flavor!! Also got the octopus risotto with the side salad. We were thinking that maybe we will skip the side salad because we have so much food, but we tried it and it didn't disappoint!! The dressing was so simple but so good!! Of course we also got the fig pizza and that was also *chefs kiss* as well! Everything from the fig, to the Gorgonzola cheese, to the honey and arugula, and down to the pizza crust were all sooo well put together!!! Last but not least, we also got the tiramisu!! It was a must!!! Even though we were so full, we had to get the dessert for the full experience!! The restaurant was really nice and had a great date night feeling! It's like you just stepped away to Italy for a little bit while having dinner! Workers were friendly and some spoke English as well so we were very grateful! Overall one of the best experience at an Italian restaurant!! If you're in the area, definitely check them out! You will not be disappointed!!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and shown to our table. They have minimal English-speaking staff, but we didn't have any issues communicating. There is also patio seating as well.   Menu was split into different categories from appetizers, salads, steaks, pizza, pasta, and seafood. We were surprised at how big the portion was, plenty to share. We ordered a few items:   - NY dry aged carpaccio: This was a massive portion. Cut perfectly into thin slices. A great choice for an appetizer. - Brisket tacos (3): Comes with 3 medium size tacos. Meat was tendered. Two different sauces and with your usual toppings. - Ribeye tacos (3): Same with this, comes with 3 tacos. My favorite out of the two tacos. - Octopus on the grill: My favorite out of everything we tried. I love getting octopus when in Mexico. It was fresh and grilled perfectly. It also came with fried potatoes which we all love. - Peasant salad: A good balance to the rest of the meal. A refreshing salad with sweet tomatoes. - Grilled cod fillet: The cod fillet was just the right texture. The sweet potatoes puree gave it a nice balance.   The service was amazing. The staff helped pour our water and helped with plating our food. I really appreciate their attentiveness. Overall, this was a great experience and would highly recommend anyone to stop by for lunch/dinner if they're in the Roma Norte area.

I conducted my search, finding a few places online trying to locate a good spot in a city I've never visited. Gardela stood out immediately because of their communication, kindness, and dedication to making this event extra special for him and his friends. They truly created and planned the perfect event for the group and I truly could not be more grateful. Onto the food (their honest reviews)! They said it was a 11/10 dining experience overall. The food was incredible and amazing and these are some food critics traveling from major foodie cities. They planned a beautiful menu with Chicken Tortilla Soup, a variety of Empanadas, Picaña Steak and Skirt Steak, and Peasant Salad and Fries as sides. They said the soup was super delicious and flavorful. They said the steak was absolutely phenomenal and tender, it was very high quality meat. Also the salad really stood out as it was super fresh and crisp. Then they plated a beautiful dessert assortment as well as well as special happy birthday and bachelor messages to make the celebration extra special. The cocktails were also super delicious as well. They left the meal with their hearts and bellies very full. From everything, from the planning, to the the presentation of food, the service, and food quality, the team at Gardela went above and beyond. I really could not have picked a better place and now I am jealous because I need to go try some of the steaks because they had my mouth watering! Overall, I would highly recommend going to this restaurant. They said they were seated in a private room too so it made the experience even more special. My sincerest thank you to the entire team at Gardela for making this event unforgettable!
