We were the plaintiff: We had an important safety issue we needed to fix asap for our safety so we hired Eliot silver to represent us Eliot silver explained to us it was an easy case and our main issue of safety with our defendant would be the first thing he would address to the judge and assured the judge would have no problem honoring our request On our first hearing he only talked about all the bad things our defended did to us and did not address the important safety issue we had talked to him about and hired him for in the first place After on the phone we asked why didn't he talk about it and he darted around the question and said he will bring that up on the next hearing, nothing we can do at this point we already paid him Second hearing we were shocked that again he did not bring it up' did he forget is he losing it ? Weeks and weeks passed with us now still in fear while he just says sorry I will bring it up on our next hearing, Easy for him to say he's not in danger On the third hearing he finally talked about it and the judge agreed and granted our wish, This could've been done on the first hearing! AVOID THIS ATTORNEY AT ALL COSTS!!.. I can't believe what just happened.. He started swearing at me and calling me a criminal out of the blue!!.. I came to him for a reduction and expungement on a case that's 10 years old!!.. He was calling me all kinds of names inviting me over to his office for a confrontation!!.. We just had a normal call yesterday and he told me my case was in Los Angeles.. I had information he was wrong, and I called to do business and give him the work.. He turned around and started swearing at me out of nowhere!!.. Asking me "Who the F--- are you?!".. I'm just a customer, and this is how you treat your customers apparently.. I would never hire him to so much as shine my shoes.. He's definitely getting a role of toilet paper.. This man is NOT a professional.. This is a contemporaneous review, moments after the fact.. By far the best experience interacting with a law firm. Every expectation exceeded, and the case was dismissed.

When you call it says, to "press 1 for a FREE CONSULT." I did, we spoke, he said to email. I emailed, no reply. After a couple weeks, I called again, interested in hiring him. Elliot Silver demanded $1,000.00 AN HOUR! I asked if he charged everyone $1,000 hour and he said, "Yes, I'm a criminal defense attorney, and you know we make a lot of money!" He got mad and accused me of not emailing him, then when ai forwarded it to him as proof, said he had problems with his email. But worst off, he said I owed him 20 minutes from the first call (with no time accounting), and 10 minutes for this call (where we discussed his outrageous prices and his faulty email)! But if I paid him $1,000 he wouldn't charge me. But wasn't that the free consult you advertise on your voicemail, you shady lawyer! How improper to say something is free then charge you! Like imagine you eat a free food sample-then they tell you you owe $$$$ for that! This guy makes up rates to suit his mood. Regardless, he is arrogant, accusatory and money-grubbing. He gives defense attorneys a bad name. I do not recommend him. (Guess he replied mentioning another review. What do my other 400+ reviews have to do with your shady conduct? Nothing. And yeah, Nieves is another lawyer, who owes me over 6K and hasn't returned it. But please focus on that instead of what I actually wrote.) read more

I just got off the phone with Mr. Silver. A nut job tenant in Oakland just fire bombed my building and was hauled off 5150 but released three days later (brilliant system we have and eviction will be difficult too). I need a restraining order right away but my building is empty now and no rent to pay the bills, insurance will be weeks to start a slow trickle of money. Mr. Silver advised me how to do it myself for free due to my financial predicament. He even sent me a link to forms (not fun). It won't be as good as a lawyer's filing but I'll try. Great guy on the phone...responded at 8PM right away. So, money grubbing? I wasn't looking for criminal defence but lawyers are expensive, you might have thought of that before doing something stupid. When you get a free one plan on doing jail time, maybe a lot of time. My grandfather was a criminal lawyer, later a judge, strong people survive in this legal world, pushovers don't. Mr. Silver was nice to me but if Mr. Silver is arrogant as one review says, I say hire him! The best lawyers think they're Jesus Christ, if they didn't they'd be chewed up by the system or the opposing attorney! Hire a three balled tomcat or plan on sitting in jail! Good luck. read more
