Stopped by here Saturday for lunch. The place was about half full with an active bar crowd. We both ordered a beer that came in a cold mug which I enjoyed I ordered the chicken finger basket with fries and my wife ordered the chicken finger salad. My chicken fingers were really good and a huge amount of chicken. It was a full breast cut into three pieces covered with a great batter. They came with curly fries. My wife loved her salad. We went there for the special today and it was definity warmed up for the third time. The meatloaf was horrible and the roll was as hard as a rock. The restaurant was filthy and the tables were sticky. I saw the brooms near the bar and they were black with dirt. We were the only customers there. We left most of the food on the plates. Went to a local bar to grab some brews and food on Wednesday after work. Lamasco is on Franklin's street where there are plenty of other great food and dining options, it's pretty easy to get in and out of with parking at the side and behind the building. It's pretty hard to miss it. Walking in it looks like your standard dive-ish bar... there's a bar to your right as you walk in then plenty of seating past that with a fairly substantial stage in the corner. Wednesday is apparently trivia night so be prepared for that, a decent number of tables were playing and the questions were decent, though a far cry from geeks who drink quality of questions and pacing. The waitress was very nice, but seemed overloaded with the amount of orders we were / other tables were placing (though I wouldn't necessarily say things were super busy?). Took us an hour or so to get our wings and pizza. They have a limited draft beer selection so be prepared for that. In terms of food, their pizzas were pretty decent. The wings were fried well, but I was not a big fan of the sauces (buffalo too tangy, bbq too sweet). The blue cheese and ranch dipping sauces were standard, but still good. Potato skins were nothing to write home about, taco salad not what you expect from the south, onion rings were ok. Come for the drinks, atmosphere, and maybe some small bites - go somewhere for real food. read more

The food here surprised me for bar food. It also had a great LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere. My only complaint was the karaoke DJ who told us it would be an hour wait to sing so we put in our songs and waited over an hour and watched him skip us and let the same people up over and over so I asked him why and he said that people who "tip" him get moved up on the list! Oh, Lamasco... My friends who are local to Evansville love you and are always wanting to come visit. Their attachments to times when service/servers were even somewhat decent keeps them coming back with hopes that it will improve but as an out-of-towner I have left unimpressed and tbh still kinda hungry. Last weekend we went to Lamasco for Sunday brunch after my friend's bachelorette party, we weren't a huge party, just a 7 top. The only things we received quickly were our waters. After getting the first round of waters however, everything moved as slow as possible. 30+ minute wait to order, followed by an hour wait before our food materialized. After 50 minutes I asked our waiter what was up and surprisingly (not) food showed up soon there after. The food is decent but the poor service makes it entirely forgettable. This place has lots of character. We went for lunch. Waited about 30 minutes before the waitress came over and asked if we had been helped. The waitress was kind and attentive after she initially came over. No one working seemed super concerned about running a restaurant/bar, more just hanging out and having fun. Had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with curly fries. Very good. Would come back again. Don't go in expecting fast efficient service. We were just hanging out so it wasn't a big deal. Lamasco's is a place my husband & I go to for drinks with his old friends when we are in town from California. The first time I went here must have been 4 years ago, and it was literally a hole in the wall. The following year they had expanded & I was impressed. It's not a fancy place, but it certainly is fun. Inexpensive, string drinks, good service & good wings & appetizers... at least that's what I remembered. The crowd is an interesting variety. This is a breakfast review. Came in for breakfast while I was waiting on an oil change. The server was overwhelmed. Waited about 25 minutes for toast, eggs, gravy, and sausage. Never got it. Left a few bucks on the table for my drink plus tip. Server (to her credit) caught me on the way out to offer me to pack it to go. I declined. I let her know I left $ on the table. Oil change at Reis took less time than a basic breakfast. The extra star is for the server who I know was suffering thru a c-squad kitchen. Breakfast is basic. Kitchen needs serious help. I have been here twice, and this seems like it is a good place to go and get a drink with friends. They have live music occasionally, and there is a cover to get in. The serving staff is very friendly, but seems like they are used to their regular crowd. My friend and I asked a few questions, the server gave us a weird look as she answered them. I have visited this restaurant two times now, the first time being okay at best and the second time being absolute garbage. The first time, there were probably around four tables filled and it still took about 20 minutes just to be asked about drinks, and well over an hour to receive food for two people. The second time, we were kicked out as soon as we found a table and sat down - which is another thing, this place was absolutely packed and we almost didn't find a table. For some reason, you cannot eat at this restaurant at 7pm if you're under 21? Time restraints for a restaurant/bar is ridiculous, we weren't asking for alcohol, we just wanted to eat. I went for a social event, Flamenco dancing and Spanish food. We do not live in Evansville so we had to get a hotel I was really looking forward to the event and the Flamenco was wonderful. What disappointed me was they ran out of the Spanish wine that had been advertised as being available within a half hour of the seating time. Since this is a bar and grill they really should have planned better. The food was catered by the Dapper Pigg and it was ok but I am familiar with Spanish food and had I selected the menu I would have had a selection that traveled better since it was not prepared onsite. It was ok but could have been better. Again the dancing was phenomenal but I could have stayed home and seen the dancers since the dance academy is in my hometown. Service was good! Yelp isn't going to like this lack of detail, but I don't have much to add other than no one ever came over to our table. They knew we were there, because we asked where we could sit. There were two servers for the entire restaurant... on Memorial Day. They also didn't warn us that service would be slow when we sat down with a table of eight. Lamasco is a great west side institution. They have a good selection of craft beer and know how to pour it. This means beer to the top of the glass...no foam! The food is good but with the exception below, not special. It is mostly bar food but they do serve breakfast all day. Their omelet is huge and delicious! They also have some coffee drinks but I haven't tried them yet. They very good bands on the weekends and a band that plays early on Fridays...like 5 pm. read more

I'm talking about original music. None of the typical cover bands you normally see in bars of this variety. The $5 pitchers of Coors is the best beer deal anywhere in town. Great place "dive bar style" The staff knows what they are doing and is a fun loving bunch. The food is good and they have live music on the weekends. $5 cover. We go to Lamasco's to sing karaoke every Wednesday night. The building is large on the inside and has plenty of room to move around. There is even a patio available to move the party outside. The food is great but sometimes (depending on the amount of people there) it can take awhile to get your food. There are some nights where the venue is extremely crowded which can make it difficult to maneuver. The bartenders are great! They do the best job they can. They have several different DJs for different nights, a good variety. The stage is quite large and can accommodate larger group sizes. They also have open mic nights and band nights. We have been extremely satisfied with our experiences at Lamasco's and will continue to hangout there weekly! read more

Was referred to this place by a friend, and it did not disappoint! The band that came up first was awesome, and the female vocalist brought the house down! She excelled as the lead and was great support for the male vocalist! They did about 6 or 7 songs! I was expecting more friends, and it was unfortunate that they couldn't attend! I missed the opportunity of seeing them. Shit happens and I understand, as I am sure they do. However, I had a ball! The new waiter, Charlie, was nothing less than stellar! The wait staff was excellent, but Charlie proved to be a "cut above," the rest! He was attentive, gave excellent service and was very easy on the eyes! I only hope I tipped him accordingly! I was not stingy, and he said what I intended to tip him was, "Ok," I gave him five dollars more! I will seek him out the next time I visit this establishment! The drinks were good, and reasonably priced. They were also fairly strong! The deluxe appetizer plate was wonderful, and the food was good! I love the beer battered mushrooms! They also have an outside seating area, which is quite nice! I must give kudos to their security! I informed him that my friend had too much to drink, and I asked him to help me get him to the car! He said he would. I drove the car to the side door, and he not only hot him into his car seat, but made sure he was buckled in! I am in love with Charlie! I am in love with this place! Has great food, but was in there earlier today and the owner was in there having meeting with staff and was probably one of the worst times I have been in there. Just my fiancee and I and took them over 20 minutes to take our orders. While that was in the process the owner was cussing and yelling about orders and how slow it is and how to get more people to come in. Well for one, don't be like that when you have customers in the building let alone right behind you. We were planning on spending some time there, but that was getting us very angry. So we just left.
