But the overall service (front desk, assistances, billing, etc.) is simply unacceptable - incorrect billings (more than once), non-returned calls, not answering calls at all (disconnects after one beep - at least for anything but billing, the last one usually works), refusing (!) schedule appointment with doctors because there is already checkup appointment schedule for the next year (?!), refusing to provide copy of referral for procedure ('not our policy'), scheduling procedure in the out of network hospital (without even letting you know) which would result in around $2000 charge instead of $150 and getting really rude and mean when pressed to reschedule procedure to a covered hospital... Do I need to go further? And this is for people who already clearly have concerns about their hearts. If you can go through it all, you dont really need a cardiologist - your heart is in grand conditions. Worst part is this organization spanned its net over whole orange county and beyond and many doctors (some of which might be good) are in it already. But Id rather make additional effort and find somebody outside of this group than deal with them again.

After multiple visits, I've realized that despite the staff's kindness and gregariousness, I do not feel cared for by Dr. Dris. She never seems to know my case, even though she has been my sole provider for my condition. She always asks me about the backstory behind my dysrhythmia and which medications I'm taking, even though she was my medication prescriber. I have even had a couple of visits in which I have taken time off work to drive an hour to see her, only to be told after a few minutes of meeting with her that I did not need to meet with her because she forgot to order something for me. These things can easily be remedied with a phone call or email from her or her staff. It's a bit disheartening. As I've said, everyone there is nice, including Dr. Dris. She's funny and energetic, but it never seems like she's invested in your care. For context, I am a healthcare provider, and I work with multiple providers, so I have seen the range and levels of care. It is challenging to manage hundreds of patients a year, but it is important to be present and recognize how vulnerable patients may feel. Being an electrophysiologist, she is a specialist and has much on her plate. I would hope she would read through patient charts to familiarize herself with her patients prior to seeing them. As others have stated, communication with staff is challenging unless you are actually in the office with a scheduled appointment. They often do not answer the phone, transfer you to a different number, or simply are not able to answer your questions. I have had multiple reschedules because of the lack of communication among their offices, and I had never been able to reach a provider, even with my scheduled surgical procedure. None of the staff have ever been able to answer my questions about my health conditions or how to prepare to upcoming appointments appropriately, simply because Dr. Dris is too busy to communicate. It's a bit sad, really.

Lack of Compassion After Loss…read more My family had entrusted Dr. Arora with the care of our loved one (my father) during a critical time. My father was a patient for over 20 years. Sadly, after his passing, we received no follow-up, no condolences, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. The absence of any communication felt extremely cold and dismissive, especially given the seriousness of the condition and the time spent under this doctor's care. Not to mention my father was on several unnecessary medications due to his artial fibrillation. After his diagnosis, he was removed from all restrictive and so called " necessary" medications by a different doctor and was never in a-fib again. Kickbacks or payments given to healthcare professionals, such as doctors, in exchange for prescribing or recommending specific drugs is truly unethical and quite disgusting and can have long-term negative consequences for patients. While medical expertise is important, compassion and humanity are equally important and vital in the healthcare profession. A simple message of sympathy or closure would have meant a great deal to our grieving family. I hope this practice reflects on how they can support families during such difficult moments.

Unfortunately, only our first visit was great. During our second visit, I was waiting for the ultrasound room with my father. I heard a loud female voice yell, "Put on your clothes!" Then I heard the angry voice again and heard the mumble of an old man. I thought, "geez, some people treat their family members like this..." And a minute later I heard a disturbing scream: "MY GOODNESS, PUT ON YOUR CLOTHES!!!" I was ready to give judgmental eyes when the door to the ultrasound room opened, but the people who walked out were an old man and our ultrasound tech, not the old man's family member. Great. I was scared for my dad at that point because he's old and weak, so I followed them in and watched the process like a hawk. She remained professional until the end when my dad had a coughing fit laying on the bed as instructed. She made a disgusting face and straight tossed a dirty towel over my dad's face, went "ughh," and returned to her paperwork. If you plan to take your elderly here, supervise the entire visit. This lady has no respect or compassion for the elderly. I don't care if you are good at your job, but if you treat elderly like that maybe you're in the wrong field. In the end, another doctor from the office saw my dad instead of Dr. Choo.

Dr Paul Weinstein has got to be the most patient, caring, thorough and compassionate cardiologist…read more(or even doctor). Surely he's the best I've come across! I have been recommended to him several times by a close friend whose entire family goes to see him. It took me a few years to actually make an appointment and actually follow through with the appointment. I have an irregular heart beat that a doctor in the past told me it's probably normal for me and that I could see a cardiologist if I wanted. Anyway, I finally saw Dr. Weinstein about 6 months ago when I thought something was wrong with me because I had a stinging sensation in my chest. I called the office not ever having gone there and told them my situation. Because he's a popular doctor, I had to wait about 1 month and a half before he could see me. In the meantime, the person who made my appointment took my info to tell Dr. Weinstein. Later that evening, he gave me a call and although I wasn't able to pick up the phone, he left a pretty lengthy message for me to tell me what he thought. Mind you, I've never been to his office and never showed him any insurance info, so he didn't really have to call me. That was 1 point for him! When I finally made it to the appointment, Dr. Weinstein spent at least an entire hour devoted to me. Seriously, how many doctors have you come across that actually answers ALL your questions and doesn't rush you out? In my past experiences, I would spend more time in the waiting room than I did with the Dr itself! Anyway, they took an EKG, printed it out for me and he explained it to me. He said he was going to make me a "junior cardiologist." He explained what everything meant, told me how the heart works and explained what he thought were reasons for my case. He then gave me advice on what I need to do with every doctor I see. He gave me copies of all my results and even gave me a suggestion to take my EKG to Kinko's and shrink the results to a wallet size and laminate it. He suggested I keep that in my wallet so that in case something happens to me, I could pull that out and show a doctor in the future. He's got so many smart and refreshing anecdotes that you can't help but love him. He even gave me a folder that included a "to do list" he created for me, a copy of my paperwork, referrals to specialists he believed in and a guide on my medical issues. He then asked me to come back in to get a stress test done. That was probably another hour of his time where he did not rush at all. He explained everything very thoroughly and never seems to be rushed. I saw him again earlier this week for a follow up appointment and though he was very nice, I could tell he was very disappointed in me as some of my blood work did not improve. He gave a speech about he cared about me and that he just wanted his patience to be healthy. I have another appointment with him in several months and I promise not to let Dr. Weinstein down! Dr. Weinstein is a very popular cardiologist in the community. He is known to run late with his appointments towards the end of the day because of the fact that he truly does answer every question. This is the kind of waiting I don't mind because I know when it's my turn, he will not speed up the process to get to the next patient. Dr. Weinstein rocks!
