I'm giving an update on warranty issues for Lamiglas lifetime warranty. This dates back to 2016 when I purchased 2 of the XCC 803 rods that were clearly built with a factory defect with reel seat attachment as well as lack of cement on guide threads. I understand no one's perfect and this was an oversize in production. Problem is I am in 2022 and still waiting for rod replacement for defective rods. I was recently told by owner Top Posey they would give a a 20% reduction for new rods that have increased in price and they are still not available. Covid 19 is the reason I was told. It had nothing to do with honoring the lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects. Their representative Trevor who agreed when I first submitted photos agreed to send new rods is no longer with Lamiglas and I have all texts that I've recently submitted on my cell phone. Have a GP86MS that has rusting guides underneath the epoxy, company says they''ll replace it once they get them in stock. Website clearly shows them in stock and company admits they are in stock, but they won't use the rods slated for retail sales for warranty replacements... am starting to suspect they are going to string me along until I give up, which I just have. Can't get a hold of anyone on the phone, they don't return voice mails and the person I am working with to get a replacement takes 5 to 10 days to answer emails. Lamiglass LX79MS 3rd cast tip broke on a brand new rod. Problem was bought it caught the bad covid, was hospitalized 3 months, home recovering another 4 months and finally a year and 9 months later I got to unwrap the rod and go fishing. 4" of tip of rod broke with no visible sign of prior damage. Wrote to Lamiglass and got NOTHING not even a reply. I run a lake resort here in Northern California and I'm hanging up the rod over the register with a sign. Along with other reviews, I had a pole break that was no longer being produced and instead of offering a modest replacement fee, they indicated that they would offer me a newer model at a wholesale price plus shipping. First, limited lifetime warranty is loosely defined. It's advertised as the lifetime of the owner, not the age of the rod. I bought my first rod from Lamiglas in 1982 and I still have it. I own 9 Lamiglas rods at this time, but I now know that if one of them breaks, I will only be given the opportunity to buy another at wholesale prices. What a deal...a Lamiglas rod breaks, no fault of the owner, and Lamiglas makes a profit on a new sale! The new owner was rude and had no regard for me as a 40 year customer. I will not buy from Lamiglas again and, as a former outdoor fishing retailer, I will not recommend this company to anyone I know. It's really sad if you know the company history. read more

The Redline series of rods are just junk and almost certainly foreign made. But the real problem happens when you try to get warranty service for them. Lamiglas won't return calls nor Emails. So now I'm stuck with two rods that failed shortly into the first season I used them. Worst company for fishing gear. They don't care about the customer at all and do not follow up or hold true on their warranties. After 6+ months of waiting for a replacement rod after theirs broke from bad craftsmanship, i finally got a replacement which I had to argue about in order to for me not to pay for it, and come to find out, the replacement rod was a completely different rod. Customer service is incredibly rude and they will hang up on you if you're not careful. Also all their rods, reason why they were defective it seems, is that their rods were manufactured in china and the spec for each rod is different even within the same model, so you cant just get a tip replacement. read more

Purchased an X-11 about a month ago, broke after maybe 5 trips of normal use, HAD TO PAY $65 TO GET A REPLACEMENT WITH THEIR JOKE OF A "FAST TRACK PROGRAM". 2.) Purchased a redline centerspin last week, broke within the first 10 casts under ZERO STRESS/PRESSURE!!! I didn't hit a snag, didn't hook any fish, and didn't step on it or hit a tree or anything. THE THING SNAPPED WHILE CASTING A 6.2gram float. their rods are garbage built, my $60 okumas have lasted YEARS and these much more expensive rods snap like tooth picks. I called about a limited lifetime warranty. This guy who didn't give his name at first spoke down at me like I was garbage. I asked why he was speaking this way. He was patronizing and he seemed angry, though I am a real calm and collected guy. I have never had someone raise their voice at me and when I told him I had a bad taste in my mouth from the way he was speaking to me, he told me what he could do for me (not a good deal at all) and I said, "I will have to think about that, Tom". Beware: Lamiglas no longer honors their warranty. I have shopped at this location for years and spent thousands. I purchased three high-end salmon rods in March-when a tip broke on second outing on one I was first told that they could not replace rod as i had not filled out a warranty form. Upon requesting to speak with management-a supervisor told me that if i had truly just bought the rod, I would've discovered the defect by at least the second use. So, I insisted that it had been by my second outing with the pole and he questioned this reasoning since I had bought the item this Spring and I stated that I hadn't used the rod of course, until this month at the arrival of Salmon Season. The employee didn't budge making my only option a 75$ replacement tip to salvage my brand new nearly 300$ investment. I explained to him that if I couldn't have a warranty honored I'd be taking my business elsewhere. I'm appalled that Lamiglas was willing to lose my business over an item that was still under warranty and that they would practice a policy that forces returning customers into a near 75$ replacement fee for a product under warranty. I'm bummed to say I have recommended this brand to many people over the years, to be let down by their warranty time and time again! I will no longer be buying or recommending them to clients friends or anyone else for that matter! There are plenty reputable rod makers who honor their warranty! It took them over 3 months to get back to me over my last warranty claim with countless emails and phone calls, over a hair line crack in the butt of the rod that certainly was not caused by me all just for them to tell me that there is no defects in this part of their rods and that they could not honor the warranty and if I wanted they could fix the rod but they would have to charge me! I have been using Lamiglas rods since the early 60's. Fresh and salt water rods have been great rods for me. I have had to deal with customer service twice now over the years. The first time over 10 years ago, response and warranty replacement was relatively painless. A rod snapped recently and I sent the rod in for review and disposition. The first couple of emails were responded to - but after that, nothing. Any response would be great and better than nothing. If they decided to not replace the rod - OK, just tell me so. I tried calling numerous times and left messages to try to find out when the store will be open to bring a rod in to see about the warranty and no call back. I was heading down south so I decided to stop by the store in person. But they were closed after driving 3 Hrs there was a sign on the door saying they will be open the next day so I would came back the next to find out what they could do about the rod. Again driving another 3hrs. When speaking with the lady at the front desk she advised me that the warranty had expired or I need to have the receipt to exchange it for a new one I told her this rod was over 20 years old and I didn't have the receipt. She told me no receipt no exchange and the only thing they could do for me is give me 10% a new rod. Then I asked for the manager so I could speak to Him about what he could do for me but got the same thing for him. He told me rods wear out and we don't stand by rods that are 20 yrs old. 5 years previously I took a broken rod In that they discontinued with the same warranty and he told me pick any rod from this page an I will cost you $50 so that was like half price not 10% O I forgot he threw in a $5 ball cap. Ask any fisherman and they will tell you how great Lamiglas rods are - and they are. I haven't fished with a better rod yet - and that includes custom made rods. But that is only half of what makes a great company. The company and product are only as good as the support they provide their customers and here is where Lamiglas shines! I used to think Lamiglas was awesome or at least that what I heard from a friends and family but now everyone I know seem to steer clear from them. Anyways, there reason why I will not purchase from these guys anymore is because they will not honor their warranty. A couple of weeks ago I purchase the two pieces lamiglas fishing pole from Fisherman Outdoor in Oregon City. I was so excited for a new fishing pole so I went out and do some fishing. I failed to connect the top piece to the securely; while I was fighting with the fish the bottom of the top piece broke and I lost the fish. Bad Day!! So I went back to Fisherman and spoke to their manager (Joe) who was refused to neither help me out nor honor their product they sell. Instead, Joe, told me he want to charge me another $15 for them to send the fishing pole to Lamiglas in Woodland, WA. I had my buddy took the fishing pole to lamiglas but their excuse was I'd crushed the pole. They told my buddy I had to pay $25 for them to replace the top (broken) piece. I had no choice but to order it. My point is for a respectable company like lamiglas (well use to be), they should take care of their customers. But lesson learned for me I suppose. Of all the fishing brands out there I can say hands down that Lamiglas is one of the best out there. The entire team at this company is truly dedicated to their craft and it shows in the quality of work in all the gear they make. Awful customer service. I attempted to utilize their fast track replacement program to replace a rod that I accidentally broke. They said no problem and told me to send in the label section of my rod and $175 money order and they will ship the new rod for free. When they received it they told me the rod was backordered. I heard nothing for about 8 months Despite continuously trying to contact them. Finally someone called me and said they would sell me a new rod. I was a bit confused. I decided to splurge and treat myself to an American made XCC Kwik salmon rod a few months ago. After ~ 5 normal uses, it snapped while trolling. The company rep via phone said to mail it in for a warranty assessment which I did (cost me $25 to buy a tube and ship it). Later, another rep via e:mail responded to my e:mail and said to call them and they'll send me a replacement tip. Inconsistent! Frankly, I don't want a new tip....I want a whole new rod. I'm skeptical of the whole blank. Lamiglas might take care of me in the end and send me a new rod, but I wanted to post about the apparent lack of product quality and inconsistent customer service/policies. I hope the new rod is a winner, because at over $300 I expect an excellent durable rod. My $30 rods have not failed. Update 9/31/19. After waiting ~ 7 business days to hear back from them after they received my rod, Lamiglas will only provide a new rod tip and they're charging me a "discounted" $60!! So I had to pay $85 to get a 3 month old rod taken care of. I asked why I had to send in the whole rod and they said they have to "fit" the tip because it's a domestically made rod. Bottom line: I will never buy another Lamiglas product, and if this rod breaks again -- it's going in the garbage as a tough lesson learned. Their limited lifetime warranty is a joke. We flied north to visit family in Olympia. Yesterday, we had the idea to drive to Portland for Voodoo Donuts. A great opportunity for a fishing rod builder like me to visit some manufacturers. I genuinely wanted to tour Lamiglas' facility, ask questions, and purchase some blanks. From the moment we walked in the front door, it was made abundantly clear that we were unwanted there, or at bare minimum...a nuisance. I was prepared to walk out of their facility with at least two purchases. Nobody was attending their showroom, so I had to ask the front desk secretary if they had someone whom could answer a few questions about blanks. After waiting for ten minutes, they sent me some kid whom had nearly zero knowledge of their products. He had to break out a catalog. They offered me no literature, made me ask about prices which weren't on the blanks, and generally just ran me out of there. I told a fellow builder about my experience...to which he told me they went through some ownership change in the past couple of years...and that things had really gone downhill.
