Though I've tried Lammar's popcorn at various events, this was my first time at the shop. I wanted to get some mini sizes for stocking stuffers. Thankfully I went in at a good time, because apparently they prefer you call in to order the minis since they need to be machine sealed. I would have gotten the sampler pack, but it only had half the flavors I would eat. In any case the staff was super helpful and friendly. And everything is super affordable, the minis were about $2/pack. I tasted some new flavors while I was there. Mexican street corn is my go to, of course sold out that day. The double butter was too salty for my taste, but all the flavors i tried were delicious. The butter beer, chicken & waffles, and biscuits & gravy were my new faves. read more

Warning - this popcorn is addictive, it's sooo good! After a Yelp Elite event where I tried this amazing popcorn, I had to "pop" back in and restock!! This time I chose the salted caramel popcorn and the dark chocolate sea salt caramel popcorn! I'm amazed how fresh and crunchy this popcorn is and the flavors are off the chain! Whether you like sweet kernels or savory, there's a flavor for every taste! Some of the unique flavors are chicken and waffles, dill, butter beer, honey siracha, loaded baked potato, snickerdoodle, cotton candy, double chocolate pretzeltopia, birthday cake... just to name a few. This gourmet popcorn is pricey, I paid $9 for two small bags, but this is hand crafted, small batch, delicious popcorn that's worth every penny in my book. I mean, some people pay $5 for a specialty coffee, well, this is a specialty popcorn treat!! They serve the local community by hosting charity events and offering fundraising for schools and sports teams! You can also rent their old fashioned popcorn machine for business meetings, parties or other gatherings! What a fun idea! And they also have a rewards program! Let's rank the 17 flavors of Lammar Marie's Gourmet Popcorn (LMGP). I learned about LMGP from the Ground-up podcast nearly two years ago. Lammar Marie is a black-owned, veteran-owned business based in my adopted hometown of Henrico (Richmond), VA. I meant to visit the location while in town to visit family, but it slipped my mind. I was excited when I stumbled upon them at the DMV Coffee and Chocolate Festival. I am starting from my least favorite to the best. This is my opinion and based on my taste buds. 17 Salt and Vinegar - I'm not too fond of how vinegar smells. 16 Spicy Cheddar - It was too much heat for me. 15 Dark Chocolate Sea Salted Caramel - Good, but it made me thirsty. 14 Lammar's Mix - A combo of sweet and savory, but the spicy overpowers the sweet. 13 Key Lime - Refreshing flavor. 12 Loaded Baked Potato - I don't taste the flavors. 11 Cheddar & sour cream - I wish it had more sour cream flavoring 10 Buttery White Cheddar - You taste the butter first, then the cheddar 9 Cheddar - cheesy goodness. 8 Confetti - It doesn't look like it should work, but it does. It is like fruit loops, and Popcorn had a baby. I was able to taste many flavors via a sample happily given to me by Sophie (I believe she was called) . I tasted the Key lime, Mexican street corn, chicken& waffles, Lammar's mix. My husband and I have been together for literally half of our lives -- it is becoming increasingly harder and harder to purchase gifts for him. Whenever a holiday or birthday rolls around, I am sweating bullets trying to figure out what to get someone who has everything. Someone recently recommended checking out Lammar Marie's Gourmet Popcorn on a Facebook group I'm in so I decided to purchase a "Popcorn of the Month" subscription for my husband's birthday. I totally forgot about it until last week when a nondescript brown box came to my door with my husband's name on it. He opened the box and to his delight he found it STUFFED to the brim with popcorn! An actual cry of joy fell from his lips as he looked at the surprise of flavors: Spicy Cheddar, Mexican Elote, Snickerdoodle, Biscuits and Gravy, Loaded Baked Potato, and Apple Pie! Each bag tasted exactly as the label promised and was PACKED full of flavor. We tried to ration our popcorn bags for the next month but sadly failed. Stopped in for a Yelp event and left VERY excited about the flavors! The set up is really cute and inviting the service was awesome and she was able to answer all my questions! I got the three sample sizes that were included in the yelp event and then ordered three additional bags! Lol the Mexican street corn flavor didn't even make it home!!!! Sooo good! The biscuits and gravy flavor WOWZA so yummy! The sweet flavors are perfectly balanced ( not too sweet not too salty just perfect) and I cannot wait to go back and try more! LOVE the popcorn and the staff! The first time I tried this popcorn was this past spring at the Ashland Strawberry Faire, and naturally fitting got some strawberry. I knew it was something special about this place then, and low and behold I learned they were opening a store front at Short Pump only a few miles from home...how did I get so lucky?! I've been a frequent flyer every since. From attending their awesome grand opening event, bringing family and friends in, ordering party bags for a bridal shower...it has been nothing but positive experiences. You can sample any of their current flavors when you go in which is cool. They create new flavors often, so that's always fun to have new flavors to look forward to. My go to flavors are the Key Lime, Cotton Candy, Cheesecake, and Caramel & Cheddar, but I've been known to switch it up every now and then. They can mix a bag too if you are undecided which is nice. The owners, Rialand (Lammar) & Denise (Marie) are super cool and get to know their customers, especially frequent flyers. I was given this popcorn as a gift last year and I immediately fell in love. So this holiday season, I visited their store for the first time. I purchased several bags of different flavors to give as gifts. Of course, I also bought a bag for myself. I got the Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel (same flavor that I had been gifted the year before) and it was just as delicious as I remembered. I LOVE this place! They have amazing flavors like Oreo, key lime pie, sour cream and onion, birthday cake, and my personal fave salted caramel and dark chocolate. They have savory and sweet and I love it. I also appreciate how the popcorn doesn't get gummy and stick to your teeth, like I have experienced at other places! I had a bag of cotton candy flavored popcorn at a sickle cell holiday event yesterday. The popcorn was very good, not too sweet and I could taste a hint of salt underneath which I really like. I think I would have liked a little more of a salty undertone, but I'm thinking with all the flavors this place has to offer, I'll be sure to find exactly that! This is an amazing local shop and local owner. The popcorn is wonderful and great for special events. I used it for a baby shower and it went over great.
